You can apply most any polish by hand but it's a lot of work. I've had good luck with Meguiars but I'm sure others have different recommendations.

Most of the different brands actually use the exact same gasoline from a local refiner just with different additives. I wouldn't worry about specific brands or stations unless others in your area have reported specific problems. I use BP but there's nothing special about it.

To be fair, there is a fuel charge on the dealer invoice but it's only 2 gallons, not an entire tank. I am lucky that I have a great salesman who is totally honest and transparent.

Why doesn't it apply to push button start vehicles? The BSI (brake shift interlock) is the same. There is an access panel on the side of the shifter - just remove it and depress the BSI then shift to Neutral. Press and release the start button without the brake pedal engaged to put it in accessory mode. Or start it, put it in Neutral, turn it off, then back to accessory mode.

It's covered by the 5/60K powertrain warranty.

Care for black paint on 2009 Edge
akirby replied to dwebb2's topic in Appearance - Detailing, Wash & Wax
There is no difference between paint colors. Protection is protection, shine is shine. Black just shows swirl marks more easily. -
Look up the invoice price on kbb.com or edmunds.com and add $500 to cover the advertising fee (FDAF). This will get you very close to the true dealer invoice. True dealer invoice plus $100 doc fee minus rebates would be a very good price.

Care for black paint on 2009 Edge
akirby replied to dwebb2's topic in Appearance - Detailing, Wash & Wax
Why not try reading the many threads already posted on this subject in this forum? A sealant will last longer than a carnauba wax. Other than that it's just personal preference. -
Just remember - that which does not kill us only makes us stronger. You dumped him so it must have worked! Reminds me of the old Foster Brooks joke: My first wife died from eating poison mushrooms. My second wife died from eating poison mushrooms. My third wife died from a bashed in skull. She wouldn't eat her mushrooms.

Nobody knows future incentives - I've never seen them released ahead of time. Understand that 0% financing is no different than a cash rebate to Ford so they may offer one or the other or both. The point is they may offer a $4K rebate and not 0% financing or they may offer 0% financing and only a $1K rebate. In some cases it may be better to take the cash than the 0% financing. I'm just saying that you need to evaluate the incentives and not just be stuck on 0% financing. It really depends on how many 2011s are left on the lots. If there aren't too many the incentives won't be that high.

I had 3.5% for 60 months lined up with my credit union. The dealer got me 3% with Bank of America.

More revenue. Looks like they bundled it with the driver's entry package. I believe the crash tests were reconfigured to be more stringent so it doesn't necessarily mean the new ones are worse than the older ones but I'm not 100% sure. In any event it isn't something I would worry about. Rumor has it the new release just now being announced will finally stabilize MFT but it's too early to tell for sure. Yes, unfortunately. Also the Focus but not as bad since it debuted later with updated software.

Cap 1 says they pay the dealer within 1 business day after they receive the correct paperwork. You should check with the dealer and Cap 1. You should also check the interest rate - you may be able to get a better rate elsewhere. I'm always suspicious of pre-approved loans that you don't ask for.

Not sure which model year(s) are affected - I didn't really pay attention until I noticed mine getting noisy a few weeks ago. I would assume the new ones have been fixed though.
-
I agree. Just get a new battery. Mine never last more than 3 years. You might also check to see if it's low on fluid. Mine was almost dry when we had to replace it earlier this year. And no - they're not maintenance free.

Discussed many many times in many many threads. Do a search for "wheel bearing". It appears to be a defect in the hub assembly causing the bearing to fail.

Anybody who rolls their windows down in GA this summer is nuts anyway! -

Add nav to a 2011 with myford touch?
akirby replied to tknice's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
You don't have the Nav software unless you ordered it that way from the factory. The card is just map data. -
None whatsoever. That was based on the old practice of only putting detergents in premium fuel. Back then it did make a difference but today all grades get detergents and the only reason to use premium is to either prevent knocking (which means something is wrong with your engine) or in some vehicles to unlock a little more power and mpg - but only if the vehicle is specifically designed to advance the engine timing to take advantage of the higher octane. These vehicles are usually designated as "premium recommended" as opposed to premium required or they specifically state that premium will add more power. Otherwise using premium in a vehicle designed for 87 is a complete waste of money.

New Ford Edge 2011 Navigation Question
akirby replied to RinatArinos's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Correct - no way to add Nav currently to a non-factory nav vehicle. Maybe next year. -
Major sync updates can only be done from the dealer. It's similar to doing a major O/S upgrade on your PC. Owners can do minor updates via USB. Your best bet for speed limiter removal is a SCT tuner, but make sure the tires are up to spec.

This is the new release.
