  1. Notice that wwest drives one of those Fwd/Awd deathtraps that he thinks are coffins on wheels? And uses summer tires in winter. Ignore...ignore...ignore....
  2. In Atlanta Kauffman tire fixes flats for free - no questions asked and no sales pitch. It works - I bought 2 sets of tires there after that.
  3. Give it up Waldo. wwest doesn't understand the laws of physics when it comes to cars and drive wheels nor is he going to be convinced otherwise. Just ignore him.
  4. Nope. Never did. They owned 33.4% of Mazda at one time but now it's down to around 10%. But they still work together.
  5. You just answered your own question. To dry out the air.
  6. You can't argue with ignorance.
  7. If that was the fix then the seal would not need to be replaced and the TSB would mention the reflash. Does the TSB mention a reflash?
  8. Your theories are nothing more than guesses based on your gross misunderstanding of how things work.
  9. It sounds like the PTU and seals/gaskets would be covered by the 5 yr/60K powertrain warranty but it isn't mentioned specifically. Here is the 2008 Edge warranty wording:
  10. In other words, you have no source from Ford that says they had to detune the rear drive engagement.
  11. Willard has proven repeatedly that he doesn't understand AWD.
  12. The PTU sends power to the rear differential all the time. The rear differential determines when to engage the rear wheels, not the PTU. You need new books.
  13. It's mounted to the rim inside the tire. Check with the tire dealer or a Ford dealer. I'm surprised the tire dealer didn't mention this. And please RTFM!
  14. Here is a clue - how do you think the car knows when the tire pressure is low? (you forgot to add new tpms sensors to each wheel and train them to the car)
  15. Some people like to do a 5 tire rotation. I have no idea why. I'd rather have a mini spare for space and weight savings and do 2 or 4 tires at a time.
  16. Guessing late spring or early summer but nothing definitive that I've seen yet.
  17. That 4 cylinder will have the same or even more hp than the current 3.5L. It's not a performance option - it's a fuel savings option.
  18. Ford obviously doesn't believe in them - otherwise they would be standard already. The only reason we have a choice is because they're required in Canada and it's cheaper to use the same software for both countries. It's not even advertised as an available feature. So I guess I don't understand why you need to "email Ford and let them know how you feel". If you think they should be standard like Canada then email the NHTSA.

    3.7L

The MKS already has a 3.7L and the 3.7L will appear in the Mustang next year. I expect it to appear in the 2011 MKX sometime next year. I also expect it to put out closer to 300 hp in the MKX when it does appear.
