  1. A poor design that's solved with a $5 cable. And your problem was obviously a defective radio. But now that you're returned it I guess it's a moot point.
  2. We've tried to tell you over and over that your stereo was defective because the Sony radio - while not the best - is not anywhere near as bad as yours sounded. I don't understand why you wouldn't try to get that problem fixed but I guess that's all water under the bridge now. Good luck.
  3. Yes it sounds like an alignment problem assuming the wear is continuous and not cupped which would indicate a bad shock. You can probably find a coupon for a local alignment shop or just wait and replace the tires later.
  4. I figured you knew that but wanted to make sure others didn't misinterpret it.
  5. Not to be a stickler but that isn't quite accurate. The knock sensors don't actually detect higher octane fuel. The PCM advances the timing until it starts to knock then retards the timing slightly. With Premium it can advance the timing a lot further before knocking occurs.
  6. Simple - while the navigation is speaking use the volume control.
  7. The standard Ford AWD system on all Ford vehicles can send almost 100% to the rear wheels for short periods.
  8. I don’t think Ford even pretends that they’re different based on software. They just call it 4WD for the same reason they call Escape a SUV instead of a CUV.
  9. If you floor it from a standstill it will shift torque to the rear immediately even before the front wheels slip. It will also shift torque to the rear based on yaw sensors and steering wheel angle before slippage occurs. Its quite intelligent. Turning off TC probably defeated the normal AWD algorithm.
  10. That article is comparing true 4wd systems not the Escape 4wd system. I don’t think there is ANY difference at all in the Escape and Edge AWD system. The Explorer system hardware is the same but I think it has different software settings for different terrain.
  11. CarPlay won’t affect Bluetooth and anything using CarPlay goes over the USB connection.
  12. In GA we have 87, 89 and 93. 91 is common on the West Coast and in higher elevations.
  13. He meant Manual Transmission, not owner’s manual!
  14. Did you check the owner’s manual. It’s normally no more than 10,000 miles or 12 months but the dealer is correct it will tell you when to change it based on how it’s driven - usually ends up around 7500 miles or so.
  15. If you don’t like those seats you can get the same engine in the MKX with better leather seats.
  16. It’s the tab. It gets turned sideways and rattles between the seat and the C pillar trim. Turn it 90 degrees.
  17. It’s not a typo or oversight. It tracks directly with the stud size - 150-162 lb/ft for the larger studs, 100 for the smaller ones.
  18. I don’t think it resets with a battery swap. There could be two different counters.
  19. Let’s watch the personal attacks please.
  20. It will advance the timing to take advantage of higher octane - at least up to 93.
  21. I haven’t heard of Ford denying claims for silly reasons or technicalities. It’s there to protect them from folks who legitimately abuse their vehicles.
