I am 99% sure that it will. The plastic that surrounds the grill is basically the same on all edges from 2019 to 2024.

Did you check under the back cover and see if the spare, jack and other stuff is secure. I had rattles from the jack handle that drove me nuts.
-
I did not thing about the backing plate. The cost of the plates changes the calculation.

I know that the ST can have two different rotors. I am wondering if they are interchangeable? From what I have read, both the standard and performance package use the same calipers, with the PP calipers painted red. The steering knuckle is the same on both versions of the ST. For some reason the price for the Powerstop Evolution kit is cheaper for the ST Performance kit.

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?
johnmarkp replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Did fluids on the my 2019 ST. The oil change is no big deal. PTU is a pain. I drained the unit by removing the cooler bolts and just sliding the cooler out enough to let the fluid drain. Those bolts are not easy to get at. I think the two bolts alone, took over an hour to remove and replace. I filled it using one of those 500ml syringe things you see on Amazon. The differential is easy except getting the input plug out. It is a 3/8 square female plug. Should be easy, but Ford puts a cross brace in the way. I ended up partially rounding the end of an extension to make it a square ball. I used Ford fluids for the PTU and Differential. $79 for both at the dealer. -
Jack points and jack stand placements?
johnmarkp replied to Vortechtral's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
The title kind of says it all. The service manual says that you can only use the jack points on the body to jack the Edge. That is where I want to put the jack stands. Where is a good place(s) to use a floor jack to raise the vehicle to put it one stands? -
What the dealer is saying is BS. I added the radar to my 2019. The sensor is right behind the shield part of the lower grill. I cannot imagine any way that the bracket could be broken without damage to the lower grill shield. It is much more likely that the lower grill was replaced after an impact that also broke the bracket. Look at the area around the lower grill to see if there is any damage. I could see a scenario where the whole front bumper was replaced by a dealer. They did not want to spend an extra two grand on the radar. The dealer would be forced to use all new Ford parts. Did you see a Carfax by any chance? I bet it was in an accident. I would raise holy hell with the dealer. They have to do a full inspection in order to offer a Ford extended warranty. Did they give you an inspection report? They need to disclose that the fact that the car was not up to spec. I am 99% sure that you have the cheaper of the two brackets. (22AA). You can buy a new sensor on ebay for a couple of hundred bucks. There is a chance that the sensor is still working. However, for $200 I would replace it. Removing the bumper is actually pretty easy. The whole job can be done in a couple of hours.

That amp should really kit ass even with the low power being applied. You might have to update the rest of your system to keep up. -

The body is only as good a ground as the connection between it and the negative terminal of the battery. I am pretty sure that there are several connections on the Edge. -

The amp, at full load, will pull anywhere from 30amps for an 8 ohm load to 150amps for a 1 ohm load. I would think the ground needs to be as robust as the positive wire. I would run a separate ground wire all the way to the battery if it was my Edge. If I remember correctly. The body grounds on the edge are 12 gauge wire at best. They are not designed to take the load that will put on them. -
2nd SUCCESS. Thanks to Wubster100's work on this. I did buy a new lower grill and radar mount. I am waiting for the new steering wheel switch so I can change the distance on the fly, it is stuck on 3 right now. (I am pretty sure this can be changed with Forscan, but not on the fly of course.) This mod will only work on 2019 and later Edges. It is limited to 30mph and above ACC. As far as I know all US and Canada Edges, model year 2019 and later come standard with correct camera in the mirror housing. They most likely have the bus wiring all the way to the front bumper. Wubster and I are hoping to create a how to guide once we get the steering wheel switches installed and configured. All that will be needed is the radar unit, radar mount and a short 4 wire harness. Less then 10 changes to be done with Forscan.

I have a 2019 ST with ACC and the shutters are not a problem. Getting a solid and adjustable mount without buying the lower grill might be an issue. But it is not an impossible task. Hopefully connector 193 is already there. Hopefully you can see if 192 has the needed wires when you have the bumper off.

Being able to do everything with Forscan would be great. I never thought to look in the Fusion forums. I'll take a look over there and get up to speed. One other part that will be needed is the lower grill. Fortunately it is pretty cheap. ~$60. Plus the radar mounting hardware. I will check our 2019 Edge and see if the Radar +/- twisted pair wires are attached to the camera in the mirror. Maybe Ford had the wires in all the wiring bundles. I would also be able to make the wiring harness additions if needed. I have all the tools in house.

'20 SEL - Any way to stiffen up the suspension?
johnmarkp replied to GhostRider's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Swap out the components from an Edge ST. We own an SEL and ST from 2019 and there is a noticeable difference in the suspensions. -
Adding Adaptive suspension to my ST
johnmarkp replied to johnmarkp's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
I got the shock. It looks like the quality is OK. But who can tell from the outside. I measured the resistance of the actuator and it is within spec. The 4.2 ohms measured would yield ~3 amps at full load. So 50% will yield ~ 1.5 amps. From what I read I think that 2 amps is the max it should draw. -
Adding Adaptive suspension to my ST
johnmarkp replied to johnmarkp's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
I finally bought a new shock from China for a reasonable price. I am hopeful that it functions properly. I have not found anyone who will let me hook up an oscilloscope to their adaptive suspension equipped vehicle. Still I think I can make some headway. I plan on making a jig to hold the shock which allows me to compress it and then time how long it takes to bully extend. Once that is done I will just start testing values. From what I have read they are probably using a fairly low frequency for the PWM. I will start with 200 Hz and 50% duty cycle and see what happens. It could take many tests to determine values that work. Luckily I am retired, so time it not the issue. I will report back on my progress. -
I want to add ACC to my wifes 2019 SEL. The sales a*****e convinced us that the car came with ACC. We did not figure it out until the next day and they would not do anything to help us. There are long threads on the F150 forum about this. I have looked into it and I am sure it is possible, but there is a risk that it will not work. I cannot confirm the changes that would need to be made using Forscan for the Edge. Probably the same as the F150, but who knows. I do have a sheet that shows the difference in a 2019 Edge with and without ACC. The cost would be between $500 and $1,000. https://www.f150forum.com/f118/2019-adding-adaptive-cruise-454662/index8/
