MFT report your successful installations or problems

I'm guessing you have 3.6 installed. Not looking like Ford will be doing further updates at this point. It's been over a year since the last update -

If you haven't done so restart your car, open drivers door and then restart. Sometimes disconnecting the battery for a few minutes help to reset things. Otherwise a trip to the dealer -

DRL's Daytime running lights
tpm419419 replied to BlazedUp's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
My argument with Ford is if an Edge is bought as a fleet purchase they can add DRL's from the factory. There shouldn't be a reason why a dealer with the exact same car with identical specs can't go into the computer and turn them on. It comes down to the computer being programmed to fit the vehicle being serviced. Computers if programmed correctly will only permit the correct option available. Ford is just being lazy Also I'm not sure if you have DRL's on your vehicle but on mine they all came with the turn signal lamps only. The LED's do not come on with them I know we are beating a dead horse here but Ford needs to take consumers concerns more seriously. They finally woke up with MFT but that's another topic -
DRL's Daytime running lights

Ford definitely could. The LED strips on the edge are minimal at best as far lumen output so I can't see that being a concern. I do understand some cars with bright LEDs turning off with turn signal activation and makes sense. Ford found a way to create what should be a simple option into a nightmare. I'm curious to see if the 2016 model will have the option available -

I Understand what you're saying. At first the dealer said it was impossible to turn them on in my 2011 but they later found out with me pointing them in the right direction thanks to this forum you could. My 13 also had them turned on. However you can't buy a fleet purchase with the option to turn them on but tell a consumer buying the same model they can't be. Ford needs to set the correct perimeters for each vehicle. Not very hard to do. Comes down to communication between Ford and dealer -

I understand Kirby but every vehicle if sold as a fleet sale has the option to have DRL's. Why fleet and personal use is different I have no idea -
DRL's Daytime running lights

I'm not agreeing with that. All Ford vehicles going to Canada must have them thereby being the reason they can be turned on. Plus it is a very simple operation in turning them on. Just need to plug into the Ford computer menu at the dealership. I have had 3 Ford edges ( 2007, 2011, and 2013 ) and all have been DRL activated once I told the service department where to look. I still believe its a California restriction if at all. On my 2013 I told the salesman that the sale is dependant on the DRL's being turned on at no charge which they were. My 2007 I had to pay half hour labor Additionally I was told if the vehicle has HID headlamps then the turn signal bulb would be used, as in my case It would also make sense that the computer would be specific for each individual vehicle as to what needs to be tuned on. Just my opinion -

I live in NY and I have had a 2007, 2011, and now my 2013 Edge. I have had the DRL's turned on in every one. GM vehicles all come with DRL's so I can't imagine why Cali would have an issue with it -

If by chance it is not part of your vehicle description on your paperwork but the salesman told you it was, I would record a conversation with him. Colorado is a one party state which means you can secretly record your conversation. Hopefully he will be honest with you Good luck -

If your paperwork says with Nav then you have the option of returning the vehicle if they cannot instal it -
Thanks traxii I had a 2011 before my 2013 so I knew how it should work. I took it to Ford with a seat memory issue. Once they unplugged the seat harness and reconnected it everything seems to be working fine. The tailgate "beep" volume is lower then my previous Edge so I don't know if I just didn't hear it or if in fact the seat had something to do with it All working fine now Thanks
-
Hello all I noticed my power tailgate on my '13 Edge doesn't beep when opening or closing. My 2011 did. Is there a setting I should check? Also and may not be related but my drivers seat doesn't keep the programmed memory. After several days the seat creeps forward plus if I was to exit the car with it running and get back in I find the seat moved all the way forward Thanks

SOLD! Not sure how to delete post

Thank you RayoVac I also found 2 studs on the firewall behind the center console that runs a wire through to the engine compartment. If that doesn't provide the ground I will certainly use what you suggest Thank you again
-
OK thanks I had an 07 and the 2011 and newer models are quite different. I was hoping for something just above the carpet on the firewall. I will try and take a look today

Hello Can anyone tell me of a convenient grounding post near the fuse panel or even the center console? I am extending a fuse from interior fuse panel for a dashcam Thanks
-
Hello all I installed a dashcam and found out the cigarette lighter or power adapter sockets are always hot ( on ). I would like to wire it directly to the fuse panel using an extender wire for the cigarette lighter. This way not cutting the wire on the dashcam. Question is just what fuse can I use so it powers off with ignition. Also what would be the most accessible place to secure ground wire Thanks much Tom

MFT report your successful installations or problems

I can tell you from experience that MFT V3.6.2 is light years ahead of the original version ( 1.8 ) which my first Edge with MFT had. That version never should have been released. I Am happy with this latest version, it isn't perfect but I feel it works as it should -

Seat memory positions only last couple of days
tpm419419 replied to tpm419419's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
OK Thank you. I just reprogrammed it again. My only question to myself is if I used the keyfob last few times to program it. I'm thinking just maybe I was using the drivers door lock/unlock switch. I'll know for sure in couple of days -
Hello I have a 2013 Edge Limited. The memory positions for my drivers seat will only last a couple of days. Then when starting the car the seat will move fully forward. Also if I place seat where I want it and get out while engine is running and then return, seat moves fully forward. Anyone else have this issue? I have had a 2011 and a 2007 Edge with no issues in this regard I have tried numerous times in resetting the position but nothing helps. Mirrors stay where they should. And yes, I always use the same key fob Thank you
