  1. My Edge is in the shop now and they have no idea when the update will be. Last I read it said by end of year
  2. I will call my dealer tomorrow. My 16 was manufactured in January and I'm waiting for CarPlay
  3. Pretty sure I heard it's not compatible with MyFord Touch
  4. Has anyone verified if the dealers received the hardware for Apple CarPlay?
  5. The next iPhone may change that so it can be wireless. If not this year, next year. At first Siri had to be hard wired to work in the car and than he software was updated to work wirelessly
  6. Hi4u The present software version is 3.8 and will make a big difference in the system response. Hopefully someone can help you out, otherwise try contacting Ford corporate Good luck
  7. Somewhat disagree with what you said. Ford has made many updates to its MyFord Touch since late 2010 ( in the 2011 model ). They were too soon in releasing it but I was somewhat impressed that they had steady updates to where it's actually a pretty good system. I was there from the very beginning and it was horrible
  8. If it were a cellular modem than the 2016 would be able to use the remote app ( Ford Pass ) to start, lock, unlock the vehicle. Just like the 17 Escape I would think. I don't know of anything else the Escape would have to differentiate it. Just my opinion but kind of makes sense
  9. Actually the better question would be how soon this may be able to be done. My Edge goes in in about 2 months
  10. Thanks So technically I beat you to it. Do I get a prize?
  11. aKirby I'm thinking the same thing. With Android only needing a software upgrade it would make sense it has to be USB related for the phone. Someone mentioned a module for the USB. And than within a year the iPhone will go wireless. Just like Siri started out
  12. Jnu Like akirby said In your phone, under Bluetooth settings, find Sync for your car and at the exclamation point in a circle (Sync -!- ) if I remember right you click on that to enable notifications CarPlay is for Sync 3 only from everything I've read. Different hardware
  13. With some digging on the Escape forum I found that it may actually need a USB module Another comment left by FordIVTeam says just a software update Either way not sounding too bad. If anyone wants the screenshots of the comments let me know
  14. Thanks Ford team Any approximate release date? And I don't see CarPlay mentioned on the 2017 Escape under build and price. Will that be the same update?
  15. Android will not require a physical connection and eventually Apple will be wireless as well. So I'm not so sure about a specific USB port
  16. If true, I can deal with that. Doesn't make sense however
  17. An optimist. Wait and see I guess. Only thing I can think of is the 4G cellular that the 17's will have
