  1. Guys, I have 2 of those for sale, complete with center caps and working TPMs. One is in excellent condition, the other one has some slight blemishes on the edge. They came from a 2009 Edge LTD. Anyone interested?
  2. Thanks a lot for the detailed response. I ordered an antenna from that company.
  3. Guys, just noticed that the original antenna on my 2009 Edge is sort of disintegrating. Checked online and found lots of "stubby" antennas between 3 and 5 inches only. I am wondering if those short things have the same reception than the longer original antenna?
  4. Guys, my passenger side mirror makes some creaking noises when I adjust it. Is it OK if I spray WD 40 or something else behind the glass to quiet this thing down?
  5. Got it. Thanks a lot! I didn't know about this forscan thing, just looked it up. Seems to be a useful tool.
  6. If this is normal, what would happen if I had no TPMs installed at all?
  7. Just got 2 new tires installed and, unbeknowst to me, they did not install TPMs. Now I have 2 old tires with and 2 new tire without TPMs and that low pressure icon is always on. Is that normal until I have all 4 tires fitted with them?
  8. Yes, I found out that they are available but, since time was of the essence, I bought 4 new rims at Discount Tire. Now that one can see the brake calipers through the spokes I'm tempted to paint them red. Does anybody have any experience with that?
  9. Guys, my wife just killed the two right wheels on my 2009 Edge LTD. Those 20" plastic clad affairs. Is there any chance I can get the same style used or new or do I have to buy 4 different ones, new or used? Thanks, Ed
  10. Guys, thanks for the suggestions. I tried them all and, alas, no dice. Seems to be a defective radio, bummer.
  11. The previous radio was that Ford 6-disc changer, there were no additional lines.
  12. Hi, I had a Pioneer head unit (AVH-310EX) installed in my 2009 Edge Ltd. I noticed that the 2nd and 3rd line of the RDS system never refresh, no matter how many songs are playing. Only when I change the station and change back those 2 lines refresh but then, again, they stay there for hours. Is there a setting that I haven't found or is that a genuine flaw in the RDS?
  13. Finally got this thing running, even the rear cam. Enigma was right, the speakers were wrongly wired. I, erroneously, assumed the RCA connectors (labeled FR, FL, etc.) were the speaker outputs, which, of course, they weren't. Everything works, except the sub woofer. I assume that one of the 2 empty connectors that are left from the old unit is for the sub woofer and amp. Is there an adapter that I could buy or do I need to splice 12V and audio input into that connector? The other open connector is, presumably, for the steering wheel controls. There are several adapters available but I'm not sure which one would be best. Any recommendations? Thanks again for putting up with me. Ed
  14. Finally got around to update this post. Bench-tested the unit and no sound either. Looks like you are right, bad head unit. Currently waiting to get Pioneer to fix it. Of course, the unit is 3 weeks past warranty expiration date. Just my luck! ?
  15. Yes, I did reset, pushing that tiny button with a toothpick. No dice. I took the new unit out, put the old back in, works like a charm. Tomorrow, I'll bench-test it and I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks so far for all the input. Ed
  16. I have no clue what you are talking about, and btw, I have no idea who Edgewater is!
  17. I took the unit out again and checked the wiring and it's correct! I ohmed the speaker wires and I get around 5 Ohms. I connected a stray speaker that I had lying around to the radio and there was nothing. I noticed a "Mute" wire on the Metra harness, which I don't know where to connect to and I am wondering if that unconnected wire could the culprit?
  18. Guys, I just got word from Sonix Electronics that the sub amp only powers the sub, not the other speakers. Which means I should have sound in the door speakers, right?
  19. Apparently, nobody has an answer. At least, can someone tell me if the subwoofer amp powers ALL speakers or are the front/rear speakers directly driven by the factory radio (6-disc changer)?
  20. I've turned the volume up all the way and there's nothing. Even if the antenna would not send a signal, wouldn't I hear static? I did some online research and one guy suggested the subwoofer connection might not work. I'm not sure how the subwoofer is connected to the head unit. If it has it's own amp, there wouldn't be any speaker connections from the radio. But the amp has to be switched on and the audio signal has to come in from the radio, right? The old unit (6 disc changer) had 3 connectors, the two smaller ones I don't know what they are good for.
  21. Well, I'm assuming everything is wired correctly but I don't know what you mean with #7, 8 ,9. And it's switched to FM, I can change the stations on the screen.
  22. Guys, just installed a Pioneer AVH-310EX into my 2009 Edge. It powers up, everything (incl. rear camera) seems to work fine, except for the minor inconvenience that I don't hear a thing. I don't have the steering wheel control adapter yet, could that be the problem?
