People with nav get an SD card and a flash drive. Incidentally, I wonder if copying the SD card's contents onto a faster card would speed up the nav?

I use Aquapel. It's awesome. I actually use it on all of the windows as well as the mirrors and the BAMR.

I initially went to the dealer with the intention of buying an Explorer (My 3rd). Then I saw the Edge Sport. I have every option there was available except for AWD and headrest monitors and it was pretty substantially cheaper than a comparable Explorer. I have a wife and one kid, so I don't care about third row seating, and the Edge Sport is more rare. Simple decision for me. I ordered it that day.

I didn't switch them for the noise. I switched them because they sucked. The noise was a side-effect. I used Silblade Uniblades.

You can get it. The Sync statement is because most Fords with Sync have the microphone on the mirror, but yours is in the ceiling. That being said, just get the homelink visor. It's 2 screws and a plug, it's cheaper, and you'll never accidentally move the mirror.

Hey, those of us with nav are also getting new map data sd cards along with the flash drives. I just read all about the new software, and it should be pretty amazing. They're adding features that they haven't even told the public about.

Yes. I actually like the ride better. It's still smooth, but corners better with less body roll. Oh, and it looks much better.

On point #10, I got one from an Acura RDX. The base doesn't meet exactly perfectly, but nobody notices. There's a "sport antenna" for Minis that's shorter and fits, but the reception sucks and it looks phallic.

The Sony system is really a complete bitch unless you want to leave it alone as is. On the other questions, that or an Audiocontrol Lc-2i would be good. I have a really nice 5-channel Boston amp here that could push all four door speakers and a sub nicely if you're interested.

They'll be fine. Worst case, you lose a little volume. Look on the bright side. The Sony setup has 4 6x8s, 3 3½s, an 8, and 2 tweeters.

Yeah. You have 4 speakers. The front just has a woofer and a tweeter in one. I just looked at the wiring manual.

It changed. Edit: Wait, I just noticed that it's an SEL. The Sony system has separate tweeter channels, but the SEL doesn't even have tweeters.

You don't need a crossover. The factory tweeters have their own channels.
