  1. I don't recall the details, but there was an earlier recall from Ford for defective liftgate locking modules - may be worth looking into.
  2. ROFL...know some hard core PC types I can send that too, thanks!
  3. It's Ford's pseudo-wood that is put in Limited models only. And yea, they should have left it all black.
  4. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year too all!
  5. Different rules in Canada, in some jurisdictions at least - accidents over a certain dollar value ($3000 for us) must be reported to police within 48 hours or you're subject to summary conviction of failing to report an accident=fine and points. Again to the OP, check with local police for the law in your area.
  6. If there's that much damage, doesn't sound like it'll be a cheap fix. Not sure about regs in your area, but you may want to check with police to see if there's a cost limit on what has to be filed as an accident ie above a certain amount, a police report must be filed, as it will be reported anyway by the repair shop. Good luck!
  7. That's the great thing about the factory setup and the IA integration - you never have to fumble for keys, just walk up to the car, grap the door handle (car unlocks automatically) and get in. Brake pedal and push start and you're on your way - car never shuts down from the remote start, and the key stays in your pocket all the while after. On a snowy wintry day like today, it's even more appreciated LOL
  8. Composite input, in park, whatever file type IPod allows - if it plays on the Ipod, it plays on MFT.
  9. I just turn them on to the low setting with initial activation and leave it there - very comfortable for longer terms behind the wheel and no burnt buns LOL.
  10. Very, very happy with the car overall. Zero/zip/nada MFT "issues", ride is very comfortable, and quiet as a churchmouse. The AWD (with winter wheels/tires) has carried me through some nasty weather, and all the bells and whistles still leave me with things to "figure out" LOL. The colour is hard to call a grey I agree, it's really hard to pin down - seems to have a slight colour shift depending on lighting, but again is very easy to maintain.
  11. My 2012 (with tow package) has the one long muffler. And it's very very very quiet LOL
  12. Not an MKX, but have some pics of my "mineral grey" Edge at http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/8282-2012-edge-limited-awd/page__p__66131__fromsearch__1&do=findComment&comment=66131 It's not a common colour, and seems easy to care for - works for me!
  13. Very nice, I always do my own minor maintenance and I'm sure this'll come in handy eventually.
  14. Minor differences only - the extra options on the 2011 will more than make up for it , relax and enjoy!
  15. I just call up vids from the Ipod playlist through MFT and select whichever one I want to play - takes a couple seconds for it to start, same as when changing selections...works fine.
  16. Have only tried it from my Ipod and vids work fine from there - no parking brake required.
  17. Living where you do, it would be better in the long run to go with a set of separate winter wheels and tires - you can pick up a set of 17" steel wheels + winter tires (I have 235/65-17's) for not a whole lot more than you would pay for a new set of 20" tires alone. Plus having that winter set will save a lot of wear and tear on your "good" summer wheels. I have the 20" on mine, as for ride/handling quality , for normal use you're not going to see a big difference in comarison with the 18's, again IMO.
  18. I doubt I'll ever have a use for either - fold flat, or the "extra" power features LOL
  19. Yup, extra power control options for the passenger seat on the 2012 Limited, but you lose the fold flat option.
  20. Went with a set of 235/65-17's (Michelin X - Ice) on a set of steel wheels, great snow traction and relatively quiet even for a winter tire.
  21. Definitely test drive one, you'll be pleasantly surprised. Have mine almost two months now, and I don't know whether I just got a good one or not but MFT has yet to fail or give me any grief. It IS a complicated system and a little study of system operation is required, but again mine works great. It's a bit strange talking to a car at first LOL, but you get used to it and then wonder how you can drive anything without - it's great not having to take your eyes off the road for most functions, especially audio related, and it's now second nature. I have a Limited too with all the option boxes checked and stuff like Intelligent Access, remote lift gate, smart cruise control, etc etc are more than just gimmicks and make a great car even better. Not to mention it's AWD easily taking me through some real nasty early winter weather. So I guess yea, I'm very happy with mine and highly recommend one!
  22. Have never used them, I've found real snow tires to be more than capable of making it through any Canadian winter (too many to count now LOL) that I've faced. Snow chains are old technology that went out years ago. Sorry, that's not much help I know, and for occasional use as the park wardens want, I guess they kinda make sense. Just that "part time snow" has nothing to do with our kind of winters, or for most who decide to go with dedicated snow tires to begin with .
