  1. I've bought a lot of aftermarket wheels and tires myself for various vehicles over the years, and I've never heard of any of them recommending a 45 PSI cold static inflation as correct. Again, either a rep who doesn't know what they're talking about, or you've misread the sidewall inflation rating as the recommended one, is leading you astray.
  2. 45 PSI is WAYYYY too high!!! That's the maximum the tire can hold, check your door jamb sticker or driver's manual for correct pressure.
  3. Congrats on the new ride, I certainly agree on the smooth and quiet part...enjoy!
  4. 1. Yes, the TPMS sensors will have to be retrained to your car.
  5. Yaw is the actual degree of rotation, whereas steering angle is the commanded value, so therein lies the difference. Or as it's used in my marine world. Hey, it's a slow day
  6. Try one of those dent repair companies - they can work wonders on door dings etc. No body work, and relatively inexpensive.
  7. Black is beautiful, but a royal bitch to keep looking that way! I swore I'd never own another black car (after owning 5 LOL) this time round and picked up a nice innocuous grey . But congrats on the new ride and enjoy!
  8. There is, or maybe it's phone dependant to some extent? On the gauge cluster LCD screen I can call up last number dialed, missed calls, sent calls, rec'd calls - all as phone number lists (however many the screen will display top to botton). This is with a SAMSUNG phone.
  9. Quite the change up! But congrats and enjoy!
  10. Cool! But as mine is working great since new, I think I'll hold off and see how this new version settles in first .
  11. Looking for a foam cannon, what's good? Which ones to avoid? What product you use with it too would be much appreciated!
  12. You get soaked on trading so quickly IMO - you'd never make up the financial loss in fuel saving alone. I would have seriously considered the Ecoboost too IF it'd been available with AWD, which unfortunately, it isn't. Our Acura RDX has a turbo 4 +AWD and it's a great combo there.
  13. It came down to a decision between the (new) Explorer and the Edge for me as well. There's some cross over (pardon the pun LOL) of pricing, but to get the same toys on the Explorer that I had on the Edge would have cost several thousand more. That plus I really don't need the ability to sear 7 anymore, and the Edge it was for me - it's a "right" size kinda rig, not too big and not too small, making it very comfortable to drive but still with lots of space for "stuff" when you need it.
  14. Gotta love that new car smell!!! Congrats and enjoy!
  15. In my initial tests of the Edge I first had a 2011 Sport out for a test drive, then a 2012 Limited - there was a very very noticeable difference in interior sound level between the two, with the '12 Limited being much quieter. I'd chalked it up to the different engine/tires on the Sport, but when I mentioned it in passing to the salesman he said Ford had made a running change (he wasn't sure if it was beginning with late 2011 model year builds, or at the beginning of the 2012's) on the Limited's to include the same level of sound insulation as the Lincoln MKX. Whatever the full story is, I agree that the sheer quietness of the newer Limited's interior at highway speed is dramatic, and one of the main reason's I went with it over that earlier Sport model.
  16. Of those two, I'd go with the first - but either is nice.
  17. That sounds vaguely disturbing somehow LOL....but yeah, looks the same to me too.
  18. Not sure what is "extra", if anything, but here is a shot of mine (yes it's dirty.. hey it's still winter! ) - Canadian car with factory HID's, in DRL mode:
  19. As a Canuck on US forums for years, have those conversion sites down pat LOL Definitely, as speed increased above that 110km/hr, fuel mileage drops quickly. I'm out east, no "winter" gas here, so no alcohol content. I don't pay a whole lot of attention to mileage on a day to day basis, but as the opportunity came up on this road trip, I decided to monitor it a bit closer again. With that said though, the car has definitely improved since new last October when I was seeing low 20's mpg in the same circumstances. Transport Canada's rating is 7.8l/100km, so still not that good yet, but again not bad for what it is IMO.
