  1. Had similar on a couple spokes - used some "Simple Green" cleaner and elbow grease remove it all.
  2. I looked at the SEL, Limited, and Sport. Went with the Limited for the extra "stuff" (both standard and optional) that just makes ownership that little bit more enjoyable, and yes the seats did seem different as we noted that too after the test drives. Not an audiophile by any means, but the Sony is much better than the standard setup, but as mentioned above, if that is your most important "must have", there are probably better ways to a nicer system. As for MFT, haven't had a single problem with ours, large or small. P.S. didn't go for the sport as it seemed to ride harsher with those monster wheels, actually felt slower, and no HID's.
  3. As mentioned above, it's under the Driver Assist menu on the left hand side screen....but why were ya mud-boggin' in a FWD Edge to begin with?!
  4. It's sensitivity is adjustable too under vehicle settings in the left hand menu screen.
  5. Amen, I don't know why Ford figured they had to do it this way - as many as not don't need the damn thing at all! OK, I think I've finally found something I don't like about our Edge
  6. Happiness is... keeping she-who-must-be-catered to happy LOL . All jokes aside, if you're happy with it, go for it - and yes the Limited has some nice perks over and above to make it even more different.
  7. Sounds like a broken element (one line), fairly easy to find the discontinuity yourself with a test light.
  8. For all you need to know about importing a vechicle into Canada from the U.S. it's all on the following website: Registrar of Imported Vechicles
  9. Congrats and welcome! We're very pleased with ours also and it's a great long distance road trip cruiser too for sure.
  10. Maybe the settings are different between the US/Canada, but my options are 10, 15, and 20 minutes and you can activate it twice if needed. Adjustment is found under "Setting/Convenience" menu. There are a bunch of other parameter related to climate control you can also set under that same menu.
  11. That's a lot of snow, but we get our share too...and more besides LOL (see below). There's a big difference between those areas that just get a "taste" of winter, and those places that get real winters. I've never gone without real winter tires on any of our vechicles, out of necessity not choice. And I've worked in areas in Canada where I'd have to fly south to get to Alaska LOL!
  12. Can't help with the install as mine are factory, but the end result is nice - go for it!
  13. Whatever floats your boat, but I'd pass!
  14. You can see a comparison of different model trim levels at the following link: http://www.ford.com/...rs/edge/models/ I'll add too that all the "issues" with MFT should be taken with a grain of salt in that it's human nature that you'll hear a lot more from people with problems, than from people without. Not to diminish in any way the issues that some do indeed have, but just keep in the back of your mind that on web forums like this it's only natural that people will vent more than praise. Personally I picked up our new Limited back in October and I can honestly say I've had zero problems with MFT, including Nav, although that does see limited usage. It boots up quickly, doesn't lock up, loads songs from my Ipod as it should, and my Samsung phone works great. I've learned (yes there is a bit of a learning curve) to use the voice control extensively as once you get used to all that hands free control, you wonder what buttons were ever invented for anyway LOL. Good luck with whatever you decide! P.S. unfortunately MFT doesn't help my online typing/spelling ability LOL
  15. One thing I've commented on before, and I realize Ford did some extra sound deadening development with the 2012's, is how very very quiet the Edge is. Even my wife, who rarely notices anything about cars other than they "go" or not LOL, mentioned it's quietness. Have winter tires on there now, known for higher road noise, and it's still just barely perceptible at highway speeds.
  16. Same same. Good point, it's probably turned off in the vechicle settings.
  17. Now that would make a great base for a true sport model, I'd buy it!
  18. Stock system integration (and related warranty) was my reason for opting for the factory setup as well. With that said, it's not something I use often, but on the occasions I have employed it, it worked as well as any others I've tried.
  19. By that, I mean from the factory. And I don't mean "fix MFT" or rants to that effect on stuff that is already there that "don't work" for you. But rather new "stuff", additions that would you would like to see Ford offer either standard, or optionally? Myself, it's a short list, only make apparent now after a couple months of daily driven usage: 1. Heated steering wheel to match those heated seats; winters are cold in Canada! 2. A proper left foot dead pedal; after a couple long road trips now that side of the footwell just doesn't fit right for me somehow LOL. 3. Return to real fog lights - those LED light bars may look cool, but I'd prefer some real fog lights for our foggy/snowy climate. 4. Just stretching it here but a Heads up display ala M.Benz with low vis camera to enhance forward visibilty, again in poor weather - but hey since Ford seems to want to be on the cutting Edge (pardon the pun ) with automotive electronic gizmo's.... That's it for me, I'm one of those rare (?) owners with no real complaints with the car as is - very very happy with it and pleasantly surprised with the entire ownership experience so far.
  20. Mine has improved from new with some break-in miles. In pure highway driving I'm now seeing 9l/100km (~26mpg US) with cruise set at 65mph, but that drops to just over 10l/100km (~23mpg US) with cruise at 75mph. Around town driving I'm seeing 12.5l/100km or about 18mpg. Not what's advertised but not bad for a heavy awd SUV. And very similar to what I'm seeing in our awd RDX as well.
  21. Congrats and welcome - a couple months back I went through what you're going through now LOL. All those gizmo's are a bit daunting at first, and it's a bit of a steep learning curve, but it all comes surprisingly fast once you get the basics down. Now what works best for me is voice commands, I hardly bother the touch screen anymore, just tell the car what you want and it does it...except for those heated seats LOL.
  22. Expert mode + usage helps streamline things a lot I've found. The system will learn to better recognize your voice with usage (dialects) and you'll eventually here less of those "is that right" queries as well.
