The problem here is that people don't feel that they need to or should restart the system or update it when new software comes out. A lot of people out there love their MFT.

Tuners are having a harder and harder time as Ford is getting better at taking this in house - look at their SVT and ST programs. They are leaving little room left for improvement, unlikes time past.

Evolution's specialty is being a big Mustang and Shelby tuner. I'm not aware of them doing any Edge EB stuff.

You're correct about the MyFord Touch - it's the single most factor for Ford's low ratings in consumer reports and I read more owner complaints about it across all Ford sites, regardless of vehicle than any other. I had an Explorer with one in it and it seemed to operate OK for me.

I undertand the minivan world - I have one too. I actually went looking at a Honda or Toyota, but found a Caravan that fit my bill - cheap. I've had it under one year and have a ton of miles on it without any problems. I'm an EcoBoost nut, so I'd love to have an Edge with one next time around.

I'm like you - it's hard to simply not change it, even though they claim that it's no longer necessary. Let us know what you find out.

Leave it be - these new transmissions coupled by the advancements in fluid technology negate the need to changing fluid like we used to. Even engine oil changes occur at the 7,000+ mile mark.

I haven't heard to this either, it's most likely a fan noise after shutdown. The Shelby 1000, which is super charged does use a larger intercooler pump, which comes on before the engine starts and after the engine stops. Maybe something aftermarket on the Edge or a turbo that I'm not familiar with though.

Who would like to see a Ford Edge EcoBoost SVT model? Take a little of the Edge Sport, mix it with the 2.0L EcoBoost and add some special ingredients!
