  1. If you're going for switchbacks, then the HP24 is your only option. If you want Amber only version, then I would go with the XP80. Either option needs a resistor. That's what I have in my edge and they look great with plenty of brightness. Never been flashed once.
  2. The XP80 ambers from diode dynamics will be your brightest option. It will cost you, though. The only LED's I have purchased from the are my switchbacks and I have never been happier. They have outlasted all my other attempts at other brand switchbacks. http://www.diodedynamics.com/store/2011-2013-ford-edge-front-turn-signal-leds-pair Unfortunately you can't get away from a resistor. But if you use scotchloks to splice the wires (mine have been in for over 3 years without any issues), it will take less than 5 minutes to install.
  3. I have also seen another way for other ford vehicle that may or may not be worth a try: To program the door lock remote part of the key, get in the truck and close the door. Insert a functioning key in the ignition and turn on-off (not starting) 8 times within 10 seconds leaving it in the ON position on the 8th time. The doors will lock. Then pushing any button on each of the remotes. You must press a button on each of them, even the ones already programmed.
  4. This should work to program the button features of the IKT: Procedure : 1.Close all doors, then open drivers door and press the Unlock button on drivers door while it is open, insert key into ignition. 2.Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times within 8 seconds, with the 8th time ending in RUN. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming mode. (if the door locks do not cycle, then it was done incorrectly. You must start over by removing key and beginning from step 1) (Off is the position where you can remove your key, RUN is the position just shy of starting your car.) 3.Within 10 seconds press any button on the first keyless remote to be programmed. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming. If you only have one remote then skip to step 5. 4.Within 10 seconds, press any button on the second keyless remote. Door locks will cycle again to confirm programming. Repeat step 4. for all other remotes. 5.Turn ignition to OFF. Locks will again cycle to indicate end of programming mode.
  5. I forgot to add, you simply need to reverse the wires when connecting the metras adapters in the edge.
  6. Yes, those metras are the ones you want. Im using them in my 2012 with no issues.
  7. That stinks. I paid $49 (30 min labor). Can you call around to pepboys, Firestone, maaco, etc and see if they can do it? Most service centers do have fords IDS program.
  8. It's absolutely compatible. It's the exact kit you need (you can confirm the part number is identical to what I listed in the OP).
  9. Hmmm. In my 2012 all my outlets turn off when I shut down my car.
  10. The DRL function is part of the parking/turn signal lights. That should have no effect on your HID kit, which will only turn on manually or via auto switch when dark.

  12. I did my 12 Sel for under $300, including dealer activation of remote start using the IDS. That was for the cellular remote version. If you just want key fob remote start, you can do it yourself for under $200 (including dealer activation). I created a rather detailed thread on how to do it yourself.
  13. Two years ago, I would have been all over this. I do wish I purchased built in nav when I got my car, but I simply find that using my Garmin or my phone has the latest maps (phone more than Garmin) and has never let me down. Still, looks like a great idea for those that really want it. The only thing I'd be concerned with is if ford ever needs to do a factory master reprogram or replacement APIM for any reason.
  14. Pull then power cable to the fuse box under the in the driver's side footwell. That will reboot the sync system.
  15. I've got a pair of DTBLs version 1 that didn't have the turn signals (PM me). I upgraded to his v2's and never looked back. Here's the video that details the v1's: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=eEauUY5YWnQ
  16. Just to avoid confusion. Dan's headlight kits are HID, not LEDs. HID would represent the biggest lumens/"brightness" increase. However, if you have a halogen reflector (which the 2008 edge does), you will cause issues to oncoming traffic due to the improper light scatter as a result of using HID bulbs in reflector housing. You may want to consider upgrading to a projector headlight on your edge. VLED.com does sell a true LED headlight conversion kit, which may be better suited for a reflector housing (but I can't back that up with any science nor evidence).
  17. I swapped mine out for the primed grills. Bumper took a few minutes to take off. The hardest part was removing the chrome "ribs". The clips are a pain in the ass but as long as you are taking your time, it's not too bad.

  20. I remember my first car. I went outside to start my car and it wouldn't start. I proceeded to open the hood, take out the battery, clean the terminals, check the ignition, try another key, everything! I was out there for over an hour. My father came out and started the car in a few seconds. His response? "You can't start the car when you leave it in Drive, dumbass. To this day (over 20 years later), he still loves that moment.
  21. Great work! I am always appreciative of the 55w at night with wet roads. Helps immensely.
  22. Do I see a little return wire shadow on the passenger beam? Looks great!
  23. They look good! It's either the length of the bulb or just the intensity (brightness) that is causing some light to spill above the cutoff line. I'm sure that little bit would not cause any issues (your DRL's cause more of a light scatter than that, anyway). As its the passenger side, you should be fine as well. I had a Korean driving joke somewhere. Can't remember where I left it! I was in Seoul a few months ago, driving was no more a concern that in southern California.
