  1. Omar, Read my last post again. You buy the LOCKABLE mkx version and swap that out on your edge. That solves one problem. The other (lighting), you're on your own. Sorry for not being clear enough.
  2. You can always get the latch with lock mechanism from the mkx and install it in the edge. You just then need to have it keyed for your ford key. Solves one of your concerns...
  3. I had the opposite experience with TRS, but it still sucks you had to go through it. I imagine it can happen with any vendor. Hopefully you get it sorted and can start enjoying the HID upgrade!
  4. You'll want the harness with a 55W kit. That's a lot of stress on the factory wiring. But, be cautious as the DDM harness is crap (mine melted after only a week). You'll want to get a quality harness like one from TRS (Morimoto).
  5. Damn. I was happy with my 3.11 for workgroups cup. Beat me by a few years. But, I did have the satisfaction of sitting back and taking a sip of coffee after just pressing the turbo button on my pc (dx66 anyone?). Minesweeper didn't really run any faster.
  6. Norm, really the main causes would be loose bulbs (but if I recall you made it quite clear you seated these properly in previous posts), loose o-ring gaskets on the bulb or a loose headlight housing. Is it very drastic? Are you driving on bumpy roads or does it happen on flat, straight roads as well?
  7. Why the aversion to load resistors? Really easy to wire in. You can just use scotchloks and be done in a few minutes. Or, you can use high-wattage LEDs, which should eliminate hyper flash. You can also purchase can-bus led bulbs that would solve the problem as well.
  8. I've used both the DDM and TRS Kit (I've used DDM for well over 15 years in a half dozen different cars, ever since they were Apexcone). I've had some crap DDM kits and some that were bulletproof. Having said that, I would completely recommend the TRS kit over DDM any day (there service alone is worth the extra $$). I noticed you were in Montgomery county. I am in Malvern 4 - 5 times per month (and will be next week). I'd be glad to show you my HID setup.
  9. I'm using TRS and auto works fine. DDM is hit or miss, but for the two weeks my ddm kit was installed, I had no issues with auto working.
  10. You don't need separate hi/lows. The edge has a mechanical shutter to change the light position. 9006 bulb kits will fit, but some members have also used 9005. Some bulbs (depending on manufacturer) may need to have the tabs trimmed a bit with a Dremel or razor.
  11. Primed grill, plasti dipped trim (looks as good as when I dipped it months ago).
  12. Here's one more http://www.fordedgeforum.com/uploads/monthly_08_2013/post-22533-0-92172800-1376057397.jpg
  13. No problem. Also, take into consideration that if you go with the 55W ballasts, the color temp of the bulb you select will appear warmer. I.E. If you go with a 5000K bulb (all bulbs are 35W) at 55W, then it will appear to look 4300K (due to the "overdrive" of the bulb and warmer hotspot in the center of the beam pattern). 6000K looks 5000K, etc. I highly recommend 5000K with 55W ballasts. They look OEM and a perfectly crystal white color.
  14. The kit has everything you need to install. http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_info.php?products_id=3957
  15. Use a rag between the needle nose pliers and the relay. Just needs some wiggling to come loose.
  16. It sucks about the issues your having. I've been using the identical kit for over a year and a half (HD relay harness) and my auto function has always worked. I am using the positive and negative terminals on my battery for power connections.
  17. They were a pain, but I had to do it as I replaced my chrome grill with a black one. If your really good at masking, then you should be able to PD it without removing the inserts.
  18. Just search for: BT4Z-13N019-A Looks like this is cheapest: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FORD-BT4Z13N019A-GENUINE-OEM-FACTORY-ORIGINAL-PROTECT-CAP-/111241520146?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19e682e412&vxp=mtr You can get it less at levittown ford: http://www.levittownfordsupercenter.com/repair-parts.php (just search for part number).
  19. I really hate to ruin your holiday (hopefully you read this on Thursday!). But, you did receive the 35w ballast. 3Five (SS) is their 35w: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_info.php?products_id=21742 5Five is their 55W ballast: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_info.php?products_id=21743 I believe you mistook the SS designation as 55.
  20. Sure. Lots of us have them. Except we purchased them here: http://www.daytimebrightlites.com/Daytime_running_lights.html
