  1. Not sure what you mean by "had a friend cut a key for me". The bypass requires an additional key that doesn't come with it? If I buy a module that is vehicle-specific and set for my viper system, would I still need to get this key?
  2. No clue, but I'd like them to be about 5000k. Thanks for the offer! I'll definitely post some pics when I get them in and installed, although, it will be while I'm back at school, so there might be a slight delay. I saw on your site that you don't independently sell the license plate LED you offer for free with a purchase. Any chance I could get a hold of that should I end up ordering through you after all? On another note, isn't white light the presence of all color light? :shades:
  3. Bummer. Just wasn't sure if one would be slightly too big or too small. Well, if my $15 China lights don't work/match, I know where I'm going.
  4. Personally, I'm fine with the 18 mpg I get around town, the 19 I average on a regular basis, and the 24 I occassionally get on the freeway... and you'll never find me driving 65. LOL One reason I bought the Edge was its MPG compared to the competition while still maintaining a good amount of horses to lug all its weight around. Passat looks great, as does the tint! I have a few friends that are purely German drivers, and I do understand it: they're extremely well built (with the exception of my friend's VW GTI which had a bunch of transmission issues) and fun to drive (at least, my buddy's Audi S4 is) LOL. One thing German's never fail on is design. All their cars are pretty good looking. Have fun with it!
  5. Wish I'da known that before I ordered them. Comfort me and tell me that they don't fit both generations... Maybe my ebay ones will suck. LOL
  6. My Christmas gift to myself: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005ZHFXKU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=ATMW9223S6T4N This is the remote start system I intend on ordering. Has anyone ever used it, or other viper kits, that can offer your testimony on their products? I'm under the impression I need an immobilizer bypass as well, which I intended on getting from sonicelectronix. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_43061_Omega-OL-MDB-ALL.html What should I be aware of when taking this to a local shop to install it? Are there any common problems with this particular system? Anyone else get their kit off amazon? I've seen a couple videos on YouTube that show the windows wired to roll up and down and it'd be neat if I could change the trunk popper on this kit to do that. **EDIT** 1/24/13: Getting it installed, today. Ended up getting a universal bypass for ~$20 and having sonicelec. program the key. Total cost: $350 with installation. Maybe I'll make a video?
  7. Exactly the "light bar" I mentioned. Although we have different years, for the first gen, I think it'd be nice to have the pipe vertical nearest the grille, and the turn signal on the bottom portion. That picture looks real nice, what car?!
  8. Just ordered the map light, dome light, and license plate LEDs from ebay. I'll post pictures/info once I get them installed.
  9. I think a board would be visually appealing, and more effective. I hate my '08's taillights because the turn signal is the brake light, but LEDs would be more distinguishable.
  10. I've gotten it on a past car of mine. Don't think I ever did anything about it, if it still exists, and nothing has happened yet... It is annoying, though.
  11. Looks real cool, and I'd jump at those... if I had a 2nd gen LOL Real cool idea with the turn indicator down there, often I find it difficult to see the turn signal of cars with HIDs when it's required to look through the headlight beam to see it. I'm anxiously awaiting the design/prototype of those first gen projector headlights, but I'm trying to be patient. I've also found that I prefer the vertical light bar in the Caddy headlights to the Audi style LED strip. I think the bar'd be easier to integrate given the shape of the housing.
  12. OP, I love it. I enjoy the classy look of my blue edge. I'd like some chrome wheels, but I love what you did with yours. The colors and wheels fit the car perfectly, and I hope to do some of the same mods to my whip. Sounds like a lot of time and money, and I'd say it definitely paid off.
  13. I've noticed times when I jump on the gas to pass someone then let off quickly, the car shifts not-quite-so-delicately as it would if I were just coming from a stop sign and the engine stays revved up higher a little longer than I feel like it should, but since I'm not mechanically inclined, I assume it has something to do with the tranny/stall. Never had any of the lights turn on though.
  14. I definitely was thinking it as I bought it, and am in love with Trans Ams still. It fits me, though. With the few slight mods to it and the way I drive it LOL, it's unmistakable that a guy is driving. I don't think it matters much. I've caught myself checking out the new VW bugs...
  15. I'd like to go from cloth to leather and get heated seats all around. ..as far as powered seats, I have all manual seat controls. Power seats move too slow, and I'm not wanting them.
  16. I have an '08, with 74k on it. No problems since I bought it, 5k ago... No repairs reported with the exception of a reallignment after it got hit before I owned it. Sorry, man. Maybe call everyone and blame everyone until someone decides to pay for it. Sounds extremely unlucky.
  17. Love the color, and the wheels; it's what made me pick the edge, I just couldn't find a one with low enough mileage for a decent enough price. Tint those front windows!
  18. This probably would have been a smarter plan than building wooden cubbies that fit into those spots...

Happened to me my second month. Narrow roads and bad drivers, fortunately, the gunmetal color hides it well. Sorry to see yours!
  20. Not sure how "well north" it would be, but I could justify spending double, especially if the LEDs would match the 5000k HIDs I have, and the projector not be so awkward looking (like the Ebay lights). Maybe that's just me, but I think it'd be nice to keep a similar layout to what it currently is and not eliminate the two separate sections (high & low), but only if there'd be a reasonable application for the leftover section. Maybe put it an Audi-like strip (curvy), and make that the DRL (possible?), and eliminate the separate, yellow section for the turn single. Put the projector up there, and make the high beam section the turn signal? I really like the new ford f-150 headlights... I'd easily pass up those Ebay lights if this was made a priority. I need a summer project.
