  1. Don't think you can find the part on its own, either you need to get a replacement new housing or get one from a salavage yard. You can get new one for cheaper price than dealer from following. http://tascaparts.com/parts/2013/FORD/Edge/Limited?siteid=213668&vehicleid=381709&section=BODY%20HARDWARE&group=FRONT%20DOOR&subgroup=OUTSIDE%20MIRRORS Since you mentioned you drive by Oakville, you can also try to get price quote from the parts department at White Oak Lincoln Dealership in Mississuga. I was able to get a few replacement parts for my Mkx from them for price almost same as ebay or Tasca parts without hassle of shipping and they even offered to install some of the parts for free or 30 min of labour time. If you decide to try to get it from White Oak Lincoln, email James Larmour (JLarmour@whiteoaklincoln.com) for a price quote as he is the parts department manager and can offer slightly better pricing for parts and install or you can install on your own.
  2. Still haven't found the cause and dealerhip can't replcate it every time I bring it up. Seems to be happening less now in the Winter or maybe I am just not hearing it.
  3. tsb10-17-06 attached on linked I posted above. Insist they pefrom the TSB action and check the seat track. My service department insisted nothing was wrong until I printed the TSB and had them double check the seat it self as well.
  4. Issue is either seat belt related (see link below) or seat track. My 2011 Mkx had same exact issue caused by loose seat belt latch. For longest time dealership service department insisted it was normal for power seat. Finally they fixed the latch using TSB and replaced drivers side seat track and the rattling and vibration nosie while driving has almost completely gone. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/13892-passanger-seat-creaking-noise/ Both seat track issue and belt latch noise issue are apparently well known problems to Ford vechles.
  5. Yes I have THX, no it does not show the THX animation on start-up.
  6. I have the exact same issue. Seems to happen more often when you set HVAC to auto mode. Try setting it to blow air only from top vents as that seems to work for me.
  7. Don't think that is the case since no way was the interior of the car aboive freezing and it does indeed cause hvac to not kick in on auto.
  8. Nope, mines does not seem to do that. For example when out this morning to the mall and it was around -15 degrees celsius. When I parked the car at the mall, correct outsitde temp was showing. After about 1.5 hours wehen leaving the mall, started the car and it showed outisde temps as + 7 degrees celcius. Temp reading then steadily droped a degree or so every 30-60 sec for the next 10 min until it dropped back to the actual outside temp of - 15 degrees celcius. This does not seem normal since it cause the HVAC system not to operate correctly when set to auto modes with remore start since car thinks its warmer then it really is and does not engage the HVAC.
  9. Only new logo is displayed when door is opened, no THX animation.
  10. Anyone else have issue with outside ait temp displayed on screen being higher by 10-12 degrees celssius than actual outside temp when veichle is first started or after being parked for serveral hours? After 10-15 min of driving, the displayed temp steadily falls and matches acutal outside temp. Reported the issue to my dealership and they applied serveral TSBs related to this but did not resolve the issue. I am wondering if I have a faulty outside air temp sensor or if this is by design where it takes serveral minutes to catch up to actual outside air temp.
  11. Got my veichle back yesterday and so far no noise. Repair notes indicate "repaired and lubed seat belt buckle ass" so I assume they performed the TSB. They also replaced the seat track as that was the other source of annoying noise everytime I hit a small bump or pot hole.
  12. I will double check and let you know later today or tomorrow. From what I recall, I now only see the new logo and no THX at start-up.
  13. My Mkx has same issue with seat belt noise, starting to get really irritating. Every time I have no passengers in front, I have to wedge the belt buckle between console and seat to prevent it from shaking and rattling while I drive. My vehicle is currently in the dealership and will see if I can get them to fix issue based on TSB 10-17-6. Mine is a newer model than TSB but hopefully they will still attempt the fix. I love the vehicle but so many minor annoyances such as this makes me not want to get another Ford vehicle again.
  14. Thanks for the info, just wanted to make sure this wasnt a glitch since I expected auto to keep even temp in the entire veichle and not just have bottom half really warm and top part cold.
  15. Does your Mkx exhibit same behaviour. If so, this might be a silly design since while hot air rises, it is not sufficient to to warm the top half of the veichle with all the heat loss through the glass and so on if all the heat comes only from the bottom vents. Top vents should be atleast 25% to 50 % open for optimal heat distribution.
  16. Nore sure if it is the sensor since after 5 minutes of driving, temp displayed is accurate. The issue is the lag period causing auto climate controls to not work as intended.
  17. I have a couple of annoying issues with the heating system on my 2011 Mkx. Hoping someone with Mkx or Edge can confirm if this is normal behaviour. 1) When HVAC system is set to auto, the air only blows from the lower vents and never from the top so my feet end up being way too hot and upper body is cold. Not sure if this is by design or malfunction 2) Outside air temp displayed is off by 10-15 degrees Celsius after engine starts. Temps outside will be around -5 degrees Celsius but display will show around +8 to 10 degrees Celsius after engine start. It will drop a degree or so every minute and after about 5 minutes of driving will drop to actual outside air temp. This causes remote start to not engage the heater or the heated seat, steering wheel automatically. Not sure if this requires firmware update to fix this or if senor is faulty. Would appreciate if someone can let me know if this is normal or not since this is my first winter with the vehicle and the two behaviour above seems odd to me. 18. Maybe has to do with the tire size ration as I went to 17" tires but overall width remained the same. My snow tires are: 235-65-17.
  19. Don't think the issue has anything to do with tires. My 2011 MKX would have this behaviour on cloudy days or when I pulled out of underground garage where the GPS would fail to acquire a lock and would cause the nav to drift and be off from the road. Dealer first tried to peform firmware update on GPS module but this did not resolve the problem. They then replaced the GPS module itself and issue has not reoccured since. I just changed by tires from 20'' Stock to 17" Winter tires and have not had any issues with the GPS drift returning.
  20. Something like this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Ford-Edge-logo-License-Plate-Frame-/321252893626?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4acc2a23ba&vxp=mtr
  21. My 2011 MKX exhibits the same behaviour where I will set colour to Blue but it changes back to defalt colour after about an week. Issue seemed to start or at least occur more frequently after update to 3.6.2. for MFT. To mee it seems more MFT software bug then APIM issue. Antonio, if this is a known issue, can at TSB released for it since if I take it to the dealership, they will most likely be clueless on the issue without a TSB.
  22. My Mkx has a similar issue that happens on throttle after sharp turns as well. See following and listed to audio to see if it is same issue. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12682-2011-mkx-humwhine/
