  1. Have you seen this? http://www.crutchfield.com/p_127C2RFRD1/PA...ce.html?tp=3486 ab
  2. Have you been up against a strong magnet or a BIG electric motor lately? ab
  3. Greetings Lots of mods here, not much go but a lot of show. Personally I would really like it if someone made our plastic wheels go away. Needless to say I DON'T have wheel locks on them. ab
  4. A few yrs ago we were in Vegas in a rent subcompact economy POS. I couldn't even out drag the cabs . ab
  5. Start a flap (it'll be tight) and slide it up. Here's a pic of the start. By the time it gets to the top it will have done a 180. ab
  6. Are you talking about 1, 2 (are stock) or 3 reversed by me? ab
  7. This is the main reason we still don’t go with the OEM nav. We do have a Magellan and have found it a LITTLE  better, than a friend’s OEM Honda. We’ll continue to use Streets & Trips until the OEM’s and portables catch up. One problem with S&T in spite of telling it to AVOID toll rds it still routes us on them, but by being able to add way points it’s a pretty easy work around. ab
  8. Looks like discotic has an AWD so there could be a problem with the wheels. A few stealers might try to claim they caused the PTO leak. ab
  9. Very interesting our X3 had it and we used it a LOT in the mountains. Wait 6 months or so then check your local salvage yard. Should be a direct bolt in. BUT then you'll have to deal with the software, always a problem, at the very least a visit to a dealer. BUT IF it really is the same transmission I would think that the input to transmission will be the same, might not be any software involved. Anybody have the elect diagram for the transmission? ab
  10. No they will not void you're warranty check out the "Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act". HOWEVER if you lose a wheel bearing or other suspension part you might have a problem. ab
  11. You're probably a victim of the economy. I've got a NON MKX/Edge/Ford part on back order for 2 weeks and counting. ab
  12. Those look a WHOLE LOT :yup: better than our $800 plastic hub caps. ab
  13. Agree 100% this is the voice of experience speaking. I replaced the bulbs on our previous ride with silverstars and got 1 NOT quite in right. The light pattern was ALL over the place!! BAD BAD!! These reflector are designed for THE filament to be in EXACTLY 1 place + LED's individually act like a spot light so all the LEDs would be pointed at a different (wrong) spot on the reflector. I would also be leery of a CO. that has "One Pair Set of Two LED 9005 18 SMDs Xenon Headlight Bul" in the same sentence. ab
  14. Changing the brake fluid is a very good thing, you would be shocked at how dirty it gets. Side not: Brake fluid change is NORMAL maintance for BWM, makers of the BEST stopping cars!! However the tech PROBABLY either took her Cobalt for a test drive and REALLY gave the brakes a workout or while he was changing the fluid he deglazed the pads, still good $'s spent. ab
  15. This reminds me of our GM Cateria. 3 sets of front tires 3 sets of alignment specs In 34K miles They NEVER did get them right. moon roof Finally right after the 3rd try. ab
  16. It's been tried. Start here http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?showtopic=2710 it will take you to the Audio, Navigation, SYNC & Interior Forum Try the search feature at the top of this page. EDIT: Here's a good one. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?sho...ic=3298&hl= Good luck ab
  17. Sorry Lex but no dial tone on cell phones (at least none that I ever worked on). Keep this a secret  Cell phone's should be called cell RADIO's, some even still have a visible antenna, but all have one. Speaking of bluetooth... how do you turn it off, sync not my cell phone? Sometimes the whole car doesn't need to hear. I know the answer is probably in the book, but it's much easer/usually quicker to ask here. Thanks ab
  18. I apologize I like to post some wit (no humor this time) and humor :happy feet: on here ever once in a while. It's always been my understanding that when I push Key 1 I am executing PROGRAM 1 and when key 2 is pushed Program 2 would be run. I did try to duplicate your procedure but didn't have any luck on our 08 MKX??? position 1 after reprogramming still goes to position 1 when key 1 is pushed. BUT I DID confuse it. A couple of times after reprogramming position 1 and pushing key 1 the seat would not go to the new position, or the old. I not sure if it moved to position 2 or MAYBE a default position. EDIT: Update: What happens when key 1 is in-use and position 2 is reporgramed? ab
  19. This is great news  we have 4 drivers, Wife is key 1, I'm key 2, son will be button 1 and daughter will be button 2. I'm off to do a little programming. ab
  20. I copied this from the MKX manual, hope it helps. Edit: ooppss wrong answer. Sorry got to go, BB will be along shortly with the correct procedure. ab
  21. You should try a BMW. It's gone but forgotten, it did have issues BUT WHAT A CAR. Under CERTAIN conditions when I used my key (2) it would reprogram itself as key (1) and we're not just talking seat and mirrors we're talking radio, climate control, etc. We haven't had near the frustration with the MKX. ab
  22. We've had zero problems on our 08 (May) with 15+K miles. We didn't get the hole in the roof because our 04 BMW X3 had a big one and you couldn't open it above 40 MPH because of a pressure build up causing a BOOMing noise. The only thing I would change: It really bothers me that we paid $800 for plastic glued on (20") HUB CAPS. ab
  23. Probably not going to happen, to many development problems. Single turbo . I wouldn't want to do either to a FWD but an AWD that would be something . ab
  24. I asked because I've never seen any 15% . But then I don't look for E anything. When E85 first came out some of my elderly coffee friends were making special trips to fill their late 90's early 00's cars with E85. I printed them a couple of articls about the bad milleage and how mush it would cost them to repair if they kept using it. I think a couple of their pacemakers kicked in. ab
  25. What kind of mileage do you get with the 15% ? ab
