  1. I know the dealership I just bought mine from still has 9 2015 edge orders they are waiting for that they last heard are not built yet.
  2. I drove a 2005 Cobalt SS supercharged prior to this. I do miss the small agile vehicle feel of the Cobalt at times and the standard transmission(there are almost no standard SUV's anymore), but I do love the extra space and AWD in the Canadian winters.
  3. Well I finally get my new Edge Sport on Monday and now I am shopping for new winter tires. I am seriously looking at Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2 SUV's,they have been getting great reviews and friends have been loving them. Only catch is no online ordering.
  4. Just spoke to the dealership and went saw my vehicle and the doors that were ordered. The "escape" door was actually the second door the received, the first door was damaged in the box....(saw them both in box, both the same box)
  5. Denicio - Lets here a little story about when I ordered(well bought from existing dealers order) my last car, I bought a 2005 Cobalt SS Supercharged after reading the hype in all the magazines and test driving the only one to make it to Central Canada in the first shipment. After checking all the local dealers I found one that had a Black with Black leather coming in and I chose that one in October 2004. At that time the dealer thought they should be out in Canada by January, February. Feb rolls around and I had heard on the forums that there was a delay due to headlight seal failures on the 2 door model and they were just producing sedans until it could be corrected. Wait 2 more months to April and my vehicle is on the train to Canada and the dealer is tracking it. It makes it to Ontario where it is supposed to switch to a Canadian train to finish the shipment to the prairies but instead it sits in Ontario for 2 weeks to be shipped back to Ohio for another major fix. 6 weeks later comes early June and finally word that my car is back on a train coming to Canada. Well 9 months later I finally get my new car.
  6. I went to the dealership, they showed me the box with the correct part number for an edge door on it, showed me the number in the parts catalog as well. Open the box and inside there is an escape door. That's great they can reorder the part but ford said they are not willing to expedite shipping of the part and there is a wait list on these parts that I went through once already.
  7. The parts that were sent by Ford were wrong.
  8. Last month I purchased a 2015 Ford Edge Sport off the lot at Bennett Dunlop. It was damaged prior to purchase but promised to be repaired in a timely manner, Bennett Dunlop pushed me to sign the papers prior to November to get current incentives saying the vehicle should be ready within a week. Well I am now almost a full month without my new vehicle due to a multitude of delays. The first delay was outside of your or the dealers control but was not told about it on until after the papers were signed. It is that the vehicle had to be inspected by an insurance company from Alberta prior to repairs. After the adjuster came out, 2 weeks after I signed the papers, they stated they will start repairs this week. Now I just got a message from the sales manager I dealt with and there is now another delay..... They had ordered a door and fender from Ford parts to repair the damage done prior to purchase and they open the box both labeled with Edge part numbers and it is a door for a Ford Escape and a fender for an Edge and it will take at minimum a full week to get the door in plus paint time. I email and call Ford customer relations Canada and I get similar responses of : Hello Mr. *****, Thank you for contacting the Ford of Canada Customer Relationship Centre, my name is Amy. We received your message sent on November 18, regarding your 2015 Edge. We are sorry to hear the experience you have had since purchasing this vehicle. We appreciate the time you have taken to contact us. Our suppliers and part depots send parts based on what the dealer ordered. It is possible that the dealer put in the wrong part number. We do not work with parts or have access to part ordering information. This is all done through the dealer. All we can suggest is if you are not happy with the work then continue working with the dealer. You agreed to purchase this vehicle from the dealer. All we do is provide the dealer with the product. When it is damaged after delivery it is the dealer’s responsibility. Once a vehicle has been delivered we do not become involved in repairs until the vehicle has been sold, with the exception of recalls. Thank you for contacting Ford of Canada. Sincerely, Amy ***** Customer Relationship Centre Ford of Canada Basically I have the dealer blaming Ford parts and Ford Canada blaming the dealer telling me there is nothing they can do about it.
  9. Every vehicle will have it's lemons, its common issues and users that want to complain that the one panel is a 2mm off from the rest of them(or other silly complaints) it is just the frequency of when it happens and how you react if it happens to you.
  10. The one thing I have noticed with most new vehicles are ECU updates are common place now, even my 2005 Cobalt went through 4 of them. They tune it for certain conditions and then find out when you do this + this, while driving in the rain it has a hiccup, they flash it and it is fixed.
  11. Mjonis - I am actually the complete opposite. I have owned nothing but chevy's my whole life and only had one problem one but that was a used 1993 Lumina Z34 Auto that I bought. The transmission in the auto's had a weak link that was addressed in 1995 with the Monte Carlo relaunch, the diff pin would slip and then a gear would lose alignment. But before that I had a 1998 Z24, put 80,000 KM in the first year I owned it and then wrote it off. Was another used vehicle. Then was given a Pontiac 2000 Sunbird, 1984, from my parents drove it for 4 years, leaked oil, was 18 years old when it finally died from the pan gasket giving out. Had the Iron duke engine, it still ran after all the oil went. Next I bought a brand new 2005 Cobalt SS(first model year) and so far the only issues I had in 10 years were condensation in a head light(there was a TSB for it) and the initial ECU program did not like below -32C, it would go into limp mode from time to time. ECU flash fixed it. There were some recalls done but did them because they were there not because I had issues relating to them. I have always been skeptical of Ford, I was a firm believer in Found On Road Dead but the Edge impressed me and GM has become boring unless you are buying a RWD sports car(corvette.Camero) or a V series caddy(CTS-V/ATS-V). I am not interested in trucks so I don't consider them in a discussion.
  12. I think the GM/Ford collaboration on the transmission doing it the right way and not rushing a "premium" transmission to market. Make sure it works before testing it on customers.
  13. Wingnut. Lets just say I was highly disappointed with the the 2 5 seat offering from Lexus. The NX200 with the F-Sport kit was very loose in the stealing and felt sloppy on the road and sluggish in takeoff, was also tight for room. So I tried the RX350 with the F-sport pack and had all the similar issues except more room. And I test drove it right after testing the Edge sport and Cherokee Limited and Trailhawk.
  14. I liked the Forester XT before I test drove it but after I did I could not stand it because I found the CVT transmission awkward. I first could not put my finger on what I did not like about it until I rented a Maxima on vacation over the summer and it was the same feeling. It just does not feel like a car so I crossed off anything with a CVT right then. That killed most of the Nissans and all of the Subaru's.
  15. Yup, I was between 4 vehicles in the end, Infiniti QX50(not enough cargo space for the size of the vehicle), MB GLA45 AMG(cost of ownership scared the other half off but the 380+HP in a small package made it tough to give up), Cadillac SVX(the local dealer was a tool and there is only one close by for me that added with the poor gas mileage) and the Edge(had all the bells and whistles, the power I wanted and got an awesome deal on top of it 200 over invoice).
  16. Prior to buying the Edge(should be picking it up this week), I almost bought a Cherokee Trailhawk V6, had the paperwork made up just told the dealer that we would need to wait a night to think about it. That night I looked into the Jeep forums and it was page after page of vehicle shutting down, lower power mode kicking in and failing transmissions. Told the dealer to scrap the deal and I would be looking elsewhere.
  17. There are currently no 2016's delivered as they are still manufacturing the remaining 2015 orders for the next couple weeks.
  18. There also the well documented issues with crankwalk with the Mitsu turbo issues once you start bumping up power.
  19. It is an Apple limitation that does not allow for features to be used while the phone is locked, not Ford's. If Ford were to find away around the lock this exploit would also be able to be used by hacker's to get around your phone lock and use the features/gain access to private information. 20. Sounds like a good plan, I wish my Edge would be ready already as it is almost getting too cold for me to get a coat of wax/sealer on it for this winter.

  22. Yeah my new Sport comes with 401A trim package, Canadian Touring package and 21" rims(basically fully loaded).
  23. No, if someone either loses the lock nut key or worse someone who is stealing them and will not care if they damage them. Because the nut sits so far outside the rim lip they are very easily broken off and stolen.
  24. I just purchased a black on black 2015 Edge Sport with the upgraded rim package, 401A. It is currently at the dealer but it was damaged(prior to purchase) while on the lot by an out of province driver and we are not waiting for the insurance adjuster to come out and approve the repair. Repair is being done with all OEM parts and they gave it to me for 400 over invoice with a discount on the extended warrantee.
