  1. The dealership gave me a deal on stock 2015 SE 18" rims with winter tires. So that is the route I went.
  2. Not a more true statement could be made. I have been lucky with all my vehicles so far(my last car 2005 Cobalt SS/SC ran like a champ for the 11 years I owned it and did not have any major issues at all, only regular maintenance and a couple recalls).
  3. Put it this way, I might, I am still a GM guy at heart(yeah yeah) but until they get their SUV's under control I will not be buying one of them, but for a sports car there is no beating the LS engine platform and my next car will likely be a RWD sports car with an LS in it(Camaro, GTO or Corvette).
  4. They definitely are working for me up in Canada, especially needed this week where we are seeing -30C windchill
  5. Unless the bolt pattern on you old winter wheels is 5x108 they will not fit on the 2015+ Edge models.
  6. I want a standard 2.7 Ecoboost combo, with the LED fog lights and headlights
  7. SO happy that 8k's are illegal in Canada and cops in the city I am in give tickets or worse vehicle inspection requests to people with them.
  8. https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2016/01/04/toyota-adopts-ford-smartdevicelink-software.html Toyota Motor Corporation is adopting SmartDeviceLink, Ford’s open-source smartphone app interface software; automotive suppliers QNX Software Systems and UIEvolution also are adopting the technology, with plans to integrate it into their products
  9. You can currently purchase this from the dealer for the 15, so I do not see why you would not be able to for the 16. It is not an update to the system as it would need an antenna installed for the LTE signal.
  10. It is also possible due to options and package selected, color that could give you a different build date.
  11. See for me chrome/shiny rims look gaudy unless on a lowrider, show car or full out luxury vehicle.
  12. From what I understand they just want to integrate features from CarPlay into Sync3. Ford does not want to give up their infotainment to another 3rd party vendor completely.
  13. Reading on their forums some people in 16's are still having the disappearing 2nd gear issues(downshift from 3rd/4th straight to first and makes a big clunk when doing it. And my neighbour who has a 16 Limited just had the dreaded service trans soon message. So I question those reports.
  14. I almost bought the smaller Cherokee until I read about all the issues with the transmission.
  15. I got my loaded Sport for titanium price, they also added in extended warranty, winter mats for free(I also went through a shit show though). I also got winter tires and rims for cost.
  16. On my Cobalt I always changed the Synthetic oil at 20-25%. Just sold it to some kid with the lowest % it has ever hit 18%.
  17. It is also possible that Apple may be trying to push people to Car Play for auto informtainment options. They have been guilty of this in the past, making Apple devices play nicer with other Apple devices over cheaper commercially available competitors.
  18. Any and Every car manufacturer has a lemon released. My last car has people with huge lists of complaints, everyone told me not to buy a first year model but guess what my Cobalt SS/SC from 2005 has had one major repair in 11 years of ownership. A electric steering motor. That's it. In that same time frame my Mom's 2008 Toyota Corolla has had a transmission replaced, 2 speed sensors die, brake cyl seize and rad crack. It is a garage parked vehicle. And even worse is my friends VW Jetta GLI(fully loaded top model) that spent 15months of his 2 year lease(company car) in the shop with a laundry list of electrical issues. He put the miles on rentals and loaners.
  19. Unfortunately the "hot Hatch" market in North America consists of Civics(if you still consider it a hatch), VW Golf/GTI/R, Veloster and the Ford Focus ST/RS. We are missing many of the other hot hatches like the Audi RS3, MB A45 AMG, All of the GM variants of the Astra VXR, The Euro automakers that we do not have in N/A and Subaru Levorg STI.
  20. All I want is Android Auto control, or a form of it. As an IT professional I find the limitations and restrictions of Apple devices horrible for a personal device. I use it for corporate devices because I can lock down phones very well but personal phones I do not want that.
  21. Of the luxury SUV's, I tested just about all of them. The only ones that felt inspired or sporty were the QX50(almost sports car like, just no interior space), MB GLA45 AMG(small again, but a rocket ship and that exhaust note is beyond satisfying), BMW X1/X3 3.5i models,(the smaller engine ones felt boring) and RR Evoque(not as fast as the others just was a fun vehicle). All Lexus offerings were sluggish and sloppy on the road, Acura felt refined but boring, and their seats do not fit a 6'5" guy like myself very well. Have never had trust for Audi/VW and the model that interested me was outside my price range(Same with porcshe). Ended up choosing the Edge Sport as it felt every bit as equipped as the luxury offerings but still has that raw American power feel I love.
  22. Jalm, but that is a Subaru block which have a history for not holding added power very well. Look at other ecoboost engines and the extra power they hold.
  23. After talking to 3 local tire shops they are said they can order 18" steel rims but at that size steel rims frequently become out of true at that size in the cold.
