My teamrxp catch can in my 2.0 edge & my james barone catch can on my cx7 barely catches anything during the summer months where it's frequently above 60 degrees, all day every day. I find a lot more in my Catch Cans when the temp is below 40 degrees. I haven't checked my Edge's can in a couple thousand of miles so it may be worth a check. The last few times i checked, happened to be after long road trips & a few drops came out each time. Maybe it's something to do with how much boost we use & when we use it? Definitely get more with our daily short drives than our longer vacation trips

Basically every time you take off, you're in boost. These turbos spool at such a low rpm & when they start to make boost, you use more fuel. The biggest factor is how you drive. You cannot drive a boosted car the same as a n/a car & expect the same mileage. When my wife drives our 2.0 Edge, she gets around 20 city driving. She must love the torque or something, i don't know. But when i drive the same conditions, i get around 25. Planning ahead for stops to limit idle time & not accelerating to stop are keys. Tailgating & jerking the gas pedal also don't help fuel economy. Cruising at 80+ miles an hour will most likely mean that you're in boost, using more fuel if you weren't in boost. Cruise control isn't always the best option for optimum fuel economy. Any little grade & it mashes the gas to get back to the mph it was det for. Our Edge will coast damn near forever if you let it. I've gotten over 33mpg in our Edge, but then we started getting into mountains & that went down to 28mpg. Before you start to complain about the mileage, maybe rethink your driving habits.

SYNC 3 and CarPlay/Android Auto Information
lildisco replied to jmr061's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Finally!!! Waze is available for Android Auto! https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.engadget.com/amp/2017/07/26/waze-android-auto-hands-on/ -
Not sure if this helps or not but here's my experience on my '16 http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/21556-2016-sel-winter-wheels/?fromsearch=1 A quick search indicates that i have some tpms that might work from my winter wheels DE8T-1A180-AA http://www.tpms.com/2011_Ford_Edge_TPMS_s/5256.htm According to that, the ones i have 'should' work. I can't assume any responsibility if they don't.

Not really a complaint, but an observation...
lildisco replied to unca waldo's topic in 2.0L EcoBoost
Not trying to sound mean or trying to be an prick, but dealers aren't always the best place to trust for service. Especially if you don't know jack about cars. Most oil changes/maintenance items at the dealership are done by the lowest of the low techs. You're not going to have your top tech doing an oil change or rotating tires at $30/hr (or whatever) when you can get a noob to do it for $8 or less. They're going to put enough oil in to get in the middle of the dipstick. They usually don't fill it up to the top. 1 Reason being that to properly check the oil in a ecoboost, you need to let it sit for 15-20 minutes to get an accurate reading. 2, it cuts into their profits. Lets just say that your car takes 5 qts & they put in 4.5 qts. Over 30 cars, that adds up. It's still not technically a problem, but that's just 1 example. My mom took her '12 fusion all the time to do tire rotations, etc & pretty much 75% of her lugs need to be replaced as they have been over torqued with an impact gun without a torque stick. I only trust a few people/places to work on my vehicles.' Usually' small independent shops are going to care more than dealerships because they want to retain their customer base. Obviously, you can argue both sides, but more often than not, people who don't know the basics about their vehicles, get taken advantage of. Oil changes are quite simple & once you see what is involved, you'll wonder why you haven't been doing them yourself. Dealerships/Service Centers are there to make money & maximize profits wherever they can. -

Have you checked your engine oil? If it's not to the 2nd hole, it's not full & can cause some noises like you describe. Let the car sit for 20-30 minutes & then check it, most places just check it nearly immediately after shut down & doesn't give an accurate reading. Let the oil pool back to the pan from the turbo & cooler & such. -
anyone with OBDII scanner, can you report LTFT, 2012 2.0
lildisco replied to brevard2012's topic in 2.0L EcoBoost
Coking is the term you're looking for I'll have to look at my LTFT's one of these days. When my wife drives it for any length of time, mpg's go way down. Go way down -
Looks like your parking brake assembly. That main line coming into it should go all the way up front to a lever. The other ends so go to manual levers on each rear brake caliper. Usually isn't an issue & shouldn't need replaced. Most people never use them & if they do, they're a 1 use item, especially with your vehicle age & looks like you're in an area that gets snow. If you wanted to change it out, might be a huge under-taking for someone who's just starting out. Might be better to take it a mechanic or if you have mechanical friends to give you a hand. I believe that piece w/ the spring is sold as 1 piece from your parking brake lever to that junction point in that picture, not 100% certain.

I got 45.99mpg from just north of Cincinnati, Oh to just just north of Columbus, Oh drafting a semi, in my mother in laws 2009 Mazda CX9 AWD. Used 2.11 gallons in 99 Miles. Speed limit was 65 & he was doing 70. I was 7-8 car lengths back from him & could feel the car shake if i got too far back. Best I've ever gotten drafting. In our '16 Edge SEL 2.0 Ecoboost, I've been trying to accelerate slowly down the hills & kinda coasting until i hit the speed limit then maintaining the speed limit. Using Cruise Control in area's the are even remotely hilly just tank MPG's. I also turn the A/C off going up hills & use recirculate to keep it cooler longer. with our instant fuel economy gauge, you can definitely see a difference when the A/C is on going up a hill in comparison to when it's not on going up a hill.

Where is the oil pressure warning light ?
lildisco replied to theoldwizard1's topic in 2016 Edge & MKX
I thought that sync 3 came with the redesign in 2015,if not, kinda sucks for the people that have MFT -

lildisco replied to theoldwizard1's topic in 2016 Edge & MKX
You wouldn't have MFT, you'd have Sync 3, if anything. I believe it'll pop up on the left screen towards the bottom by the door ajar icon. Not 100% sure as i hardly see it besides when i do oil changes -
According to this video, you have to reset the charging system so that the pcm recognizes the new battery & adjusts the parameters accordingly:

I was underneath the Edge today draining the catch can & noticed this tiny hole. I believe it's on the transmission, but i was i was wondering if anyone else that's a 2.0 Ecoboost FWD has noticed this or could check to see if they have a similar hole. Should i be concerned? I really don't want to take it to the dealer if i can avoid it. Thoughts?

If you're not modded, you should be under warranty, just take it to the dealer

Your headlights suck

I've done the conversion & it's a drastic improvement over stock. Is it comparable to HID? Definitely not. Will it give you more usable light for under $30,yes. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?t=150621 -
I replaced the front pads & rotors & have yet to experience the issue. I had it a handful of times prior to the swap. My reasoning for changing them was the incredibly high amounts of brake dust accumulating on the wheels in all 4 corners. Currently have about 1,000 miles (maybe more) & haven't had the issue. I also just changed the rear pads only as i didn't feel changing the rotors was worth it. Centric Premium Rotors 12561118 & StopTech Z231818 for the fronts & Centric Posi-Quiet pads 105.16650 for the rear. Granted, spending money on this is not ideal, but i have much better stopping power & even more importantly, far less brake dust.

Get yourself some fluid film. Should prevent it from spreading more http://www.fluid-film.com/automotive-applications/ I've been using it for years to prevent rust. The stuff works wonders. My work vehicles gets sprayed once a year & there's very little signs of rust, most likely developed prior to applying Fluid Film. Every time i work on any of our vehicles, i apply fluid film. Kinda like preventative maintenance. Here's a video that i really like that shows exactly what fluid film can do:

Centric Posi-Quiet pads part #10516650 were installed tonight on the rears. Less than $35 shipped for the pads. Didn't change the rotors, so hopefully won't have any issues later on.

If it's a dry flow air filter, why does it come pre oiled from the factory? I don't have any experience with dry flow air filters. This one looks like a k&n: Pro 5R Factory-Oiled Media for Maximum Performance
