  1. These people are obviously not Ford or Helm. I would not risk using them.
  2. I, too, bit the bullet and did the upgrade on the way home from work this afternoon. Worked great, exactly 20 minutes and it was done. I waited until I got home to turn the car off and back on. I didn't wait after turning it off, and that may have caused a slight problem. Navigation went on for about 15 minutes without rebooting and downloading contacts also wouldn't complete. I then turned the car off, opened the door and shut it, then waiting about 5 minutes. When I restarted the car, the map came right up. Downloading contacts took just seconds. The biggest pain was getting the file to unzip properly. I couldn't separate the two files needing to be in the root directory from the zip file. I finally got it to work, and everything else went well. Thanks to all who came before me and educated us on this process.
  3. The locksmith should tell you if he is cloning or programming. If he doesn't come out to your car, he is cloning.
  4. This is a remote (pun not intended) possibility. If one of the keys is not original and is a clone of the other, the car will see them as the same, instead of two different keys, and not go into programming mode. Are you the original owner of the car?
  5. My wife and I took a vacation to Vermont, 1,000 miles round trip (took a detour to Montreal one night). We both found the seats to be very comfortable. She even said they compared to the Volvo we used to have. And, we both have back problems. Like another poster said, you can't make a seat that will satisfy everyone.
  6. My wife AND daughter are both like that - refuse to use AUTO. They claim they can get the car to cool/heat up faster by manipulating the controls. My daughter I believe is symptomatic of her generation - she also will not give a song more than 15 seconds before changing to something else if she doesn't like it. They have little patience to let something work. My wife, who knows??
  7. I would like to be able to display a trip odometer on that single line right next to the regular odometer, which is there all the time. The space is there, shouldn't be difficult to program in.
  8. There's a lot I like about my 2016 SEL. Like others have said, the quietness is great. Acceleration is good and gas mileage is averaging 22mpg, and I've only got 1300 miles on it so far. What I don't like is the absence of a true accessory mode. I shouldn't have to manually shut off the HVAC system when in accessory mode. I've never had a car that behaved this way. Yes, you can just turn on the radio without accessory, but it shuts off after 10 minutes. I eat lunch in my car every day, 45 minutes, and I've always had a true accessory mode in my previous cars.
  9. Truecar for this car was over 40k. You have to include all the packages. I got the car for about 1k below the Truecar price, and they had to keep the doc fee at $75 because it was a Truecar sale. I found out afterward my son works for a company that is a vendor to Ford and he could get me one of the buying plans. Oh well, next time.
  10. I just put this protector on my 2016 Edge. It has the wrap around to the vertical portion of the bumper that I wanted, the Ford one doesn't. https://www.amazon.com/2015-2016-Ford-Bumper-Protector-Guard/dp/B018F52ZD6/ref=sr_1_3?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1470230664&sr=1-3&keywords=rear+bumper+protector+ford+edge
  11. Is it my imagination or is there no true 'Accessory' mode in the 2016 Edge with pushbutton start. The pushbutton only has two positions - OFF or Run. In the run position, which is the only option for accessory, the ventilation system is running and you have to manually shut it off. We have had Toyota and Honda with pushbutton start, and they use a 3-position pushbutton - OFF, Run, Accessory.
  12. The fob can drain the battery. I had that happen on my 2012 Toyota Rav4 I just replaced with the Edge. One original fob was going through batteries every two weeks. I had used Maxell bought on Amazon and thought that could be the problem. I then bought Energizer and Duracell retail at Walgreen's and the problem was the same. Switched to a fob I had bought on eBay and haven't changed the battery in months, until I got the Edge.
  13. I picked up, last week, a 2016 SEL 2.0l in Bronze with a Dune interior. 201A package Utility package Technology package Cold Weather package Panoramic Roof 18" Polished Wheels MSRP was 41,770. I paid 39,500 after prolonged negotiation. They tried to tell me the package discounts on the window sticker came from them and I should pay the MSRP. I've gotten several compliments on the colors, both exterior and interior. I'm very happy with them. Coming from a Rav4, I have to get used to the larger size. I'm getting there. The wipers are strange, like a throwback to the 60's. I've always had parallel arm wipers on all my cars, going back over 40 years.
  14. I know it's been awhile, but I have this coming from Amazon. It has a lip that curves over, and offers more protection than the Ford guard. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018F52ZD6/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  15. Headrests on the new Edge are adjustable, I believe 4 positions, fore and aft.
