  1. I had about 6? That didn't fit anywhere. Believe it's for the Asian market edge. The ones that fit,fit great. I've had two people get in my car and notice the front door ones and ask if that is stock they really liked the red and feel good too. All the center consoles ones fit, entire front door panels fit, cup holders, and rear cup holders. I threw one of the square mats into the dash console it's small and not made for their but using it allows me to throw a few pens up there and they can't move around and rattle anymore
  2. I have been having the same intermittent problems, as someone mentioned I think it's the speed at which your trying to go about it. First couple weeks were fine as it was new and I was thinking about "unlocking" it with the handle. When it tends not to work is when I kind of just go and try to open the door with my hand inside the handle all in one motion. That's usually when it takes two pulls and then I end up pulling my hand out and putting it back in to get it to work. I got lazy
  3. Probably going to need the remote start device, but yes I knew you can enable the remote start controls. Like I said for the f150 it was a simple disconnect a cable braid behind glovebox, mount the device in the OEM spot, use pigtail provided to plug back into cable braid AND the device. And then use forscan or go to dealer to get what you already did enabled / program a new key.
  4. Ive chalked backup cam up as a loss in the rain, same way on my f150, rain x will help in the sense you'll see beads instead of just a blurry camera, but it's still gonna get water sticking to it. Come winter I got in the habit of when walking to the car wiping the lens with a finger. At least it's clear for a few minutes
  5. Yea I get the map being an advantage, I actually plugged my wife's phone into her escape to see what CarPlay was about. Besides the familiar icons, and like it's been said her having access to maps(doesn't have nav). She wasn't impressed either. I have nav in my edge which makes me feel like I'm even less excited than I originally thought I'd be. Especially with Spotify and pandora already showing up through mobile apps. It is early in its adoption though, so maybe in a few years it'll be a little more useful. For now I don't seem myself rushing to replace the USB ports to enable it
  6. I'm really not seeing the benefits to these system yet. Besides getting phone interface on the screen?? Currently with just have phone connected to Bluetooth I have access to my music, I have access to pandora and Spotify, and most importantly I can use sync voice commands as well as Siri? Short press on voice button is sync hold for 2 seconds gets me Siri. What could possibly be so great about CarPlay/AA that makes me lose features like that? I use Siri for voice to text all the time she is great, same with reading back messages, or using her to make a call. I use sync for other commands
  7. I swapped halgon projectors for HID plug n play kit. Took an hour and lights are brighter. Lot of discussion on whether this is a good idea, I've seen people mention that the projector part number is the same for a titanium with HiD so I don't seem to see the issue.
  8. I added responses to the complaints I had comments for inside the quote. Tried to space them out for readability
  9. Eh are you sure? If you install the right remote start module and get the fob with remote starts button they should be able to program it. FORSCAN can enable remote start. If you did it youself and bought and reprogrammed the remote yourself (also can be done in forscan). You could save yourself a pretty penny on labor. I know with f150s aftermarket OEM remote start was as simple as that and if you didn't have forscan finding a dealer that would enable the option/key for you. It then worked as if you had it from factory Another option to look into is if the 15s can get sync connect when they start selling those. My wife's 17 has it and her phone from any distance can start the car. It has a cellular connection in it. It's also got the ability to lock and unlock car and set up a remote start schedule(example: 4:30 pm M-F start my car for 5,10, or 15 minutes). I know when it does come out 16s can add it I know there is another option ford sells that is what your talking about that is an extra fob. But I think that's just a cheaper option
  10. Not sure about that model year or if outside temp still affects turning it on...but I've seen a forscan code that can bump the max temp it heats up to. Cool info anyways, maybe next time I'll get it
  11. Can you look in the settings under about verison and see if you have v1 or v2? I'm thinking of switching to android and if v1 has it that would be coll
  12. I agree, it is a good sign it's only on the door and not the door sill. That to me also shows it's probably not weatherstripping and more so design of the door. Guess I'll have to be more vigilant in wiping it down. For now the fluid film is sprayed on and all that grime is sitting on top of that. When i wipe the lubricant off should be clean underneath
  13. Have you messed with anything in an app called forscan? I know there is an option in there to disable Sirius and you may have done that accidentally. If you've never heard or used forscan disregard this and go to dealer.
  14. Thing that bugs me sometimes, is the difference in volumes. Radio is on and I try to playback a message and it's like a faint whisper. Have to try to quickly turn volume up while it's playing to change that volume or it's back to controlling radio volume. I get the need for different volume settings, but at the very least the phone volume for voice texts Siri all of it should be able to be preset to a determined volume in settings. Still have the ability to adjust on the fly. But it's annoying if on a loud call and then turn it down...forget only to get a text, miss it and have to navigate through the screens to play it back again. /endrant
  15. Yea, I mean yes it will conduct electricity but so does a potato...I don't see anybody using a potato to connect that last few inches of a circuit. Some things are better left to original use. Some cheap foil just does not seem to be the way to go in a vehicle. I'd even dare to wonder what happens when a kid bumps the switch back there to always on, and that tin foil light is on over night.
  16. Nick, All you need to do is add AWD so that gauge works now I did the same thing added heated steering wheel button on screen 100% knowing it wouldn't worked and 100% hoping they accidentally put a heated steering wheel in my car on accident lol
  17. There are tons of write ups on the web with that info. I've said it and others too. If you can't find that info yourself you really shouldn't be messing with your vehicles computer modules. I have no problem helping with the codes, but not gonna spell the entire process out.
  18. I'm against using foil for electrical conductivity. I know this is a low power LED, but I've seen somebody try to use it elsewhere before and basically the microwave blew up like a bomb. He was an idiot and trying to bypass a fuse to see what was wrong. Like I said I'm sure it's a bit different for an LED but bending the post a tiny bit seems like a better idea than wrapping a connection with a loose thin sheet of aluminum.
  19. I had this happen in my f150. It's exactly what you think the clips are loose the bulb moves around and you get flickering. I actually just bent one clip in a tiny bit with some needle nose and popped bulb back in never had an issue again.
  20. I'll probabaly wipe it down and reapply before winter. To be honest the only reason I used it so early in season was to see what it looked like on a white car. It does the job but gives a slight yellowish rust hue to the doors. I'll live as long as it's not actual rust! Sprayed my door hinges as well. I do love this stuff
  21. Yea connect is actually a little black box actually looks like a mini amp. In my wife's 17 escape it is under cargo floor inside the passenger styrofoam cubby. I'm actually now excited for AA as this latest iPhone release has me going back to Android until Apple decides to be innovative in a good way again *cough no 3.5mm jack cough*
  22. I'm going to try this as well. I have just been too lazy to waste a Saturday at the shop yet. But am slowly building a list that includes this. I sprayed fluid film along the bottoms of the door and it's made it even more obvious how much road grime is getting inside the door. My other big fix is rear passenger door that is not sitting flush. The back top corner of it if you look into the crack of door I can see the paint from the body...these are the types of things that drive me nuts living in a place with a lot of winter salt. It's an almost guarantee rust spot.
