Tail light Condensation
Tjm623 replied to d0minicano's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Is this a recall? Where's that info from I haven't noticed any on mine or heard about this -
Nick, if you have the sheet available and can PM him. I don't have my computer with me this week. I know it was in BCM and if I recall was changing a 7 to a 6? That's all I remember off hand The fail was from using a bad scanner that I had tried hacking. Second time was with my new OBD. That may have made a difference as well

I shy away from in channel for that exact reason. My 98 explorer I'd have to try and time it pushing out with my finger on the vent just enough as the window passed it to close all the way. Dangerous to say the least. I don't think the tape on ones are noticeable/looked bad if you can attach them to a dark vehicle color or the door area being attached is black though

Sorry for late update but yes mine is platinum white as well. Glad to see you got it figured out!

I get what both of you are saying, however akirby the only thing I will say about auto, which does annoy me is sometimes I want cold air blowing...not in my face. Yes I can adjust the temp, but if I want cold air that's 70 degrees I don't want to have to turn it up to 80 just to get my desired fan speed. I know I can shut my vent or redirect the vents and leave it auto and use this great feature 24/7. But sometimes lowering the fan speed is enough to not dry my eyes out and still feel cold air. Likewise with heat in the winter sometimes I want hot air blasting on me when I get in the car and not pumping to the floor to slowly rise the ambient temp Needless to say there are times where both auto and using the fans have a purpose or a personal preference. I'd assume it's why car manufacturers still give us an option for both Trying to get someone to use the temp features a certain way in the car is similar to fighting the losing battle at home with a thermostat. No matter how many times you explain to someone how it works, there are people that think dropping it to 58 degrees after leaving it at 80 while at work will cool the house down faster than leaving it at 65 all day.

As nick mentioned with forscan I believe the max you can set is something crazy like 12-16 hours that they'll stay on. Someone even tested battery before, during and after and no noticeable drain after using it to charge a phone

I have platinum white but an SEL I'll check in the tomorrow and see if I notice any color difference. If it's there it's not enough to have notice detailing my car twice already

3.5L v6, sorry guess I should have clarified that

Flashback to '95. I didn't know people still use these things

Correct I forget to check people's year on profile sometimes, and accidentally assume it's 15-16s. Proving the age old adage of you know what they say when you ASSume

Wiper annoyance
Tjm623 replied to Frisco1522's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Won't let me click the pictures to look closer. Mine sits a little higher up. I really don't like how when it wipes it stops pretty high up from resting position and then when you shut them off it almost stalls at bottom wipe position for a second and then drops itself back into resting position. Everything about these wipers annoy me lol -
I do know the sport grill is gonna have the front camera cutout same with bumpers with the parking assist sensors. Curious if what they connect into is on the SEL and just not connected or you'd have to get all the modules

Interesting, I finally tracked down the noise in the front. It's that little drawer on the left side of dash near the headlight switch. If I push in on it the noise stops. Now how to get it to stop without me having to drive with a hand on it all the time

I run just the signatures too, I actually like the look of just them running.

It is comical how Google translate explains things some times . The quality is decent they are thick rubber with a honeycomb style recessed area. I could definitely see them being able to keep some grime out of hard to reach areas, and easier to pull out run under water. Not sure how much liquid they could hold (not much) and I'm not testing that one in my new edge!

There are two different sets, I may have posted wrong link, but I got the set that fits 15s. There is another set that fits the older gen

Yes, but there are two sets they sell the 19 and the 22? possibly more piece set. I got the 19 and from the pictures it appears they should all fit. Regardless, I don't think I will use them all anyways as I said. The ones I wanted were the dash console mat, center console mat, cup holder, and door inserts. Which I appear to have. So any others in my eyes are extra

Here are some pictures. I tried to show all the different shapes and sizes, obviously the small ones have no logos. I still need to figure out where they all go

Setting up a replacement key fob
Tjm623 replied to msawdust's topic in 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II
You may be able to program a fob yourself using the Forscan software with only one key available. I am not 100% sure i know with the right device key programming yourself is possible, whether you need both original or one I am not sure. -
So after a month of waiting (shipped from China) my cupholder and just about every other space in the vehicle mats, showed up. These were $18 and haven't "put them in" yet. But will take a few photos of what they look like. I went with red. Most of them have "Edge" written on them, similar to logo font, size permitting. They seem to be decent rubber quality and have a little nub that sticks up to grab them to pull out. I'm going to put them all in and see how it looks may take some out if it's too much. But I figured the door ones may help bottles rattling and smaller cans moving so much, same with the dash box mat. The rest will add a little flair. Here's the link to where I got them. The white glow in the dark if that's your thing. When I get on computer I'll post a few close up pics https://www.ebay.com/itm/272266445333
