  1. He's right I remember reading this in the manual. I believe it's stated on the bulb size chart if you look for that in manual index. There's a few other lights like this as well. The only downside to LEDs I've ever found so far. But then again with bulb life dramatically increased it may never be an issue in my lifetime with the vehicle
  2. Yea I totally get wanting to have buttons that are pressed to actually look enabled at a glance, just pointing out where else to look of it is one of those light situations where it's next to impossible to see. I have an SEL so my buttons are different, I've never actually had an issue seeing things like auto or ac or recirculate air(those are the only ones I've needed so far with the weather). In the lower models all the buttons are towards the bottom of dash and have a dedicated light above the button itself
  3. I know you are talking about seeing the physical buttons but a quick button press on sync 3 screen to climate menu would easily show you all of these things if you aren't sure
  4. I'd have to imagine it's a pop off cap, most interior lights are. I'd look alon the edge of it for any type of indentation or little change it the lense. That's probably where you wanna start prying at it. Might need a small flathead screwdriver to help. I find the ones in a eyeglass case are delicate and small enough for these type jobs myself
  5. No problem, like I said when you get to the point of programming PM me, I can give you the code and a few others for other options in the software
  6. Forscan involves a $70-$80 OBD II device that can be used for a multitude of other things besides getting rid of double honk. Including, reading error codes and getting data from modules to see how the car is running, things are working properly. It's an investment im glad I made. With different software it can be used in any vehicle that has the port(every car at this point I believe) Forscan is ford specific software, hence the name. But I've tested it in three models and works flawlessly. If you go to their website and read up on the forums a bit / are comfortable following directions, getting rid of double honk is a 5-10 minute task tops. If the directions on the software and how to program stuff makes sense PM me and I'll give you the code to change it. If the directions don't make sense I honestly wouldn't suggest messing with it as you are at that point screwing around with the computer modules built in data on a 30k+ vehicle and could screw something up. Regardless there is a ton of info on this software and what to do on YouTube, google etc. just need to do the research. Hope that helps
  7. If these were 15-16 model year they'd be mine! GL with sale Free bump
  8. You need to read up on forscan. Google and find their website. You can't do anything via forscan lite besides use it to track data from whatever modules and settings you select to record while driving. Or to read error codes. You need the computer software and the extended license
  9. This is a car forum after all...PLASTI DIP THE LIGHT :)
  10. Probably not want your looking for, but you can have dealer enable a feature called "dark mode" it's made for police vehicles but basically kills all the interior lights when a door is opened. Does seem strange that there's no way to shut that light off, although I don't know why you'd need it off either? Seems like a fringe case nobody in engineering bothered with. Just curious as to why you want this shut off? Probably best bet was listed above, pull the bulb
  11. Yea I know, I didn't mean for these cars or ever by next year. I definitely see it being the norm in say 2020? Maybe earlier. I just don't feel like there's much use as you mentioned with already having nav to warrant having to plug my phone when I get in my car to use a different UI, with some different apps. I don't have or want a phone mount and that leaves me with the option of tossing it into that slot next to USB and either forgetting my phone when I do get out, or driving around with that slot open and more than likely still forgetting my phone down there
  12. They look good, sucks about back windows not working right. I don't think I'll get them for my cars again though. Loved them when I smoked for rainy days. Ever since I quit I don't typically vent the car when parked anymore or drive with them open unless it's nice out. I use global open when going to car to vent or just remote start it
  13. No condensation either, at least I haven't noticed it. One thing I can't stand is the lip on the trunk or spoiler I guess. It is impossible to wipe that window dry. Every time I think I have and boom another drip right down my clean window. It holds so much water
  14. Thanks for updates, sadly the fact that I have to plug in for mobile apps or CarPlay kills this feature for me. That cubby is in a terrible location when car is in park. I can barely reach my hand into the slot, let alone plug the USB in I have to use the tips of my fingers. I don't see myself using the feature as changing the source to my phone gives me access to all my music. When this becomes wireless I think it'll be a much bigger deal.
  15. If you go to motorcraft service website there is a sub menu where you can put your VIN and pull all your vehicles related configs. A simple ctrl + f for the line your looking for will make browsing the XML file even easier
  16. Already got the answer I see, but my guess was going to be the purge valve. Wife's old Santa Fe started having same symptoms small amount of gas or it'd stop pumping. Would take forever to fill up, that's exactly what it was for her.
  17. The wifi should still work, in the settings on forscan just switch the connection type from Bluetooth to wifi. That is if I read what you were saying right. If it's flat out missing the feature a quick desolder of two pins and solder of wire and a switch will get it into ms mode.
  18. Mine shows up but is awful. Roads with no traffic show red sometimes others that are green are packed. It also took 4 days for a highway exit closure to finally appear as being closed. I get accident info as well and it's off sometimes by 3-4 highway exits. IMO the system leaves a lot to be desired.
  19. I do have a 16, and have seen the manual. However I don't have this issue. It rained hard here today for 3 hours straight, when I left work I checked. Couldn't see a drop inside or any condensation(it had stopped raining that time). I've also never noticed it after doing a power wash type self wash station and drying car off after.
  20. I always said I didn't need nav in car because I had a phone. Now that I have it I love it, besides as jmr said seeing gas prices on my trip route or destination, I like being able to drive a vehicle with my phone in my pocket now. It's much safer I have completely cut out any phone interactions when driving because sync3 does it all. The nav really has helped the past few weeks at my new job when two highways I could use both closed for construction, I was able to use the large screen and without even having a route set look at map to navigate home. I tend to not put destinations in, but do like the feeling of having a map at all times, furthermore the one off times when your in a different city and want to run to a store, very easily done without ever having to grab my phone. Now that I have it I don't think I'd get a vehicle without it again. I do think soon enough it won't be a thing and instead it'll just be google maps through CarPlay or AA.
  21. Ok, I was unaware, having a 16 could also be why I don't have an issue. Regardless thanks for info
  22. Ok guess I'll not do it then love travellink, disregard my PM saw this after I responded
  23. I'm guessing if you removed Sirius you don't use the Sirius mobile app? Am curious if the nav/text works for this app as well for things like seeing movie times etc. Very annoying when wife is in car and she can't even use the screen to look stuff up for me while I drive.
  24. I understand that, using that spreadsheet the only things I attempted to change were values that matched 100% to my stock value and when changing it was usually one or two digits and by one number. The beauty of forscan and downloading my vehicles AS-BUILT data is I can try one line and if it works, great! If not, I have default numbers right there and go back, it also has a built in checksum calc so I don't think you could really end up doing anything too terrible. Regardless, still good advice to heed for others who have zero idea what they are doing. You are right I would not suggest just deleting and entire line and putting random numbers in
