  1. 102,091 miles and first rear brake pads replacement and second transmission fluid drain and fill.

Previous transmission drain and fill was at 46,175 miles.

Drain and filled  the transmission and new rear brake pads.

I went with Akebono brake pads that have the mechanical wear indicators, which the original pads did not, and if they had they'd have been screaming.

I used my Gerber multi-tool to turn the caliper pistons back in (clockwise), but will get a basic tool before the next pad change in 7 years.

Hey, as from pictures from @Haz, my 2018 Ford Edge has similar layout as 2.7L model. All I did was, removing the loose middle clips on the side panels on both driver and passenger side and keep the good ones. And for the good ones I added double sided tape inbetween clips and frame to act as cushion and that worked for me. Driven 160 once and no rattle at all. Hope this helps

And what 2018 model is that?

  4. Uriah rios  why wouldn't you trust the service shop that you took the vehicle to?

There's a multitude of potential causes of hydro Lock, fuel, oil or coolant - a blown head gasket would allow coolant to fill the cylinders ......... but there's insufficient information provided for anyone here to make an informed suggestion, however the service shop has the benefit of inspecting the vehicle.

I have same issue on my2020 edge, however there are no plastic clips on my covers. There are only the stamped metal nuts along the edges. How can I eliminate the rattling? I thought about pool noodles slid between panels and bottom of car. Would this work?

They're recessed so unless you get right below them you might not see them - also possible that Ford made a change with your Model/Year - maybe @Haz can confirm.

    Hello all!

My daughters 2015 Ford Edge Titanium high mount third brake light lens fell off.

All the red lights are still there and everything works, just the actual lens fell off.

I hate to go through the cost of having to replace the whole dang unit just for the lens.

Has anyone replaced just the actual lens?

I looked and it is just a few tabs that hold it on.

Anyone know or have experience with this?

    Thank you for any assistance!

If you're looking for a long term fix, then the only option is replacement - see posts above where I indicate that the Dorman brand I installed was far superior to the original factory part.

Just bought a 2015 edge titanium awd with 114k on it. Was going good for a week or so until the check engine light came on but with no noticeable problems. Ran the scanner and got P1450 and found out about only replacing the purge valve instead of the whole harness, hoping to save $125 on the fix. Took off the old purge valve and tested it anyways and it seemed fine but I installed the new one from amazon along with a new hose. Code P1450 stayed but then it added code P0443 along with it. Do I try replacing the vapor canister solenoid, or the vapor canister with a new solenoid, or just bite the bullet and get the new purge valve vapor harness? All of the above? If I need a new vapor canister, do you know where I can find one for less than $100? Thanks

I wouldn't trust one bought from Amazon.

Avoid overfilling the gas tank - first click, stop filling.

Hi all! Went out to check fluids on my 2019 Ford Edge ST today with 41,000 miles and found the catch can to be nearly full after 2,000 miles and what looked to be teflon tape inside? Didn’t find any magnetic contents. Wanted to see if anyone has seen this before. Thanks!

In winter mine will fill up in much less than 2,000 miles - I suspect yours has been overflowing for some time.

I get the same emulsion in my 2017 Sport and empty it every second or third tank of gas during the winter months and in the warm climate I'll double that interval.

The teflon must have been from the catch can assembly, and there's no way magnetic particles are going to make their way into the catch can.

  9. In winter my morning routine, as I start brushing my teeth before putting on my work clothes, I remote open the garage door and remote start the car - looing for the confirmation on the key fob and the visual plus audible on my phone for the garage door.

Cannot hear these two steps from within my bathroom.

I was hoping you guy could point me in the right direction. I went on the J&L website. Looks like they are mostly for Mustang's and wondered what specific model to get. Thanks

I checked my email from the time I purchased and its the JLT Model: 3031P-B

  11. My 2017 Sport has lived a "sheltered life", never driven hard, has had a catch-can on it from 27K miles, and it is running as smooth and efficient as it did when I bought it in March 2017.

When I next do a spark plug change I'll take a look at the intake valves - when I did the first plug change the combustion chambers and intake were spotlessly clean, which could be due to it only using Costco Top Tier gas.

I was surprised to see that my Honda lawnmower had a wet timing belt - at 7 years its still going strong and haven't heard of failures - I'm in a wait and see mode on this type of application.

  12. omar302  the only difference that I could see was with the rear wipers mounting clip, its slightly different.

I stick with these because the front ones are lower profile than any other brands I've seen, so that when they're in the parked position there's very little of them visible from the drivers seat, and they last 2 to 3 years for me.

  13. With Amazon and eBay its hit and miss getting the OEM beam type wiper blades and that's why I order them only from RockAuto.com

The part numbers have changed but I couldn't find any difference with my recent purchase last month.

Price including shipping was lowest from RockAuto.

Have you ever lifted all 4 wheels on the Edge to jack stands Cerberus?

I have - Lift one side and place the jack stands, then left the other side and place jack stands - leave the jack it place after lifting the second side for back-up.

First tire rotations done at dealership they chipped the rims around the lug nuts using high speed spins off with impact wrench, and since then I've done the tire rotations on the four jack stands.

I also do it when replacing brake fluid.

  15. When I purchased my 2017 Sport new I bought  the extended warranty (100,000 or 84 months) for $1,950 and it expires in about 200 miles - never claimed on it.

Mine is labeled "National Vehicle Service Contract" appears to be a Ford product.

I've been receiving mail reminding me that its about to expire with links to renew, but no price mentioned - I've decided not to renew and continue with my maintenance regime.
