However if you have the 2.0l and it's collapsed the is a chance of debris from the cat ending up in the turbo and taking out the turbo.

Is that possible? - the turbo is upstream of the CAT in the exhaust gas flow path.

  2. It’s apparent that you didn’t take it to a reputable  mechanic - the first thing that should have been done on finding an issue with the timing and before going ahead with the replacement of the timing components, would be to assess the consequential damage knowing that this is an interference engine.

Throwing more parts at it isn’t going to help - you need to consider a replacement engine.

I have a 2021 Ford Edge ST, and when going on a road trip will get a sensor failure fault about every 30 minutes. It usually resets withing 30 minutes from the time of the fault. I have taken it to the dealer the last three oil changes, and they perform the diagnostic test, but because they cannot replicate the failure they have not been able to fix the problem. Failure to replicate the problem I believe may also prevent them from just replacing the sensor, the concern being Ford will not compensate them.  The car is still in warranty with 30,000 miles. The problem occurs only after driving for about an hour at highway speeds. It is the same wheel which move from front left, to rear left because of tire rotation. Has anyone else experienced this problem, or has any suggestions?

Take a photo of the fault indication and show it to the service manager - the service manager can report it as a failure without mentioning that its intermittent - if its the dealership where you bought it they'll be more inclined to help get it passed by Corp.

OK guys, current status: I checked the parking brake pads and the piston movements. The pads look almost like new, no difference in thickness to new ones. The pistons in the calipers move nicely, everything seems to be in ship-shape. So I closed everything again. The squeal is still there, louder than ever!

Would be good to get photos of your installation.

Does yours have separate pads for the parking brake, not shoes like the above YT video ?

If its pads squealing I would put a small bevel/chamfer  on the leading and trailing edge of the pads.

  5. Welcome.

I haven't seen any other posts with oil consumption issues in the 2.7TT which leads me to believe that its not a common problem.

Do you have an extended warranty? - if so take it in for an official oil consumption test, and depending the outcome they should cover the repairs or replacement engine.

Asl check the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve and make sure its not allowing oil to be fed into the intake, if that's good then do a compression and leak-down test.

I use a Catch-Can and it will alert me to any malfunction with the PCV system.

    But my question is:

Will this crack get bigger and cause the performance and drivability to worsen?

Welcome and sorry to hear of your predicament.

Yes, most certainly - just can't predict at what rate it will worsen.

My friend used a reputable independent and a Ford re-manufactured engine - cant recall the amount but it was less that $8K.

Have you been in touch with Ford Corp.?

  7. The wipers are removed to lift the plastic trim that runs across the top edge of the bulkhead.

I don't see any body damage.

For today's install I cannot find any fault with the glass, but notice that the plastic trim between the top edge of the windshield and the moon roof was raised in one spot - I lifted it slightly and could see one of the white nylon clips is loose and obviously not letting the trim go down all the way.

I'm going to do a search to see how to lift that trim piece and correct the one clip - will go through the files @Haz posted.

Edit: I can't see why they would need to lift this trim piece.

Tomorrow's a bike day, so will take it through the car wash on Friday and if its leak free I'm done with Safelite - if there's an issue I'll be in touch with my insurance to see how I can get this job done by another supplier.

    I do not recommend Safelite.

  8. My third windshield is scheduled for installation at 3pm tomorrow - I'll report back how that goes.

The install of the current windshield is good, just that I'm not prepared to live with what appears to be a factory second.

Talking of Dicks and lawnmowers - I use my bike for my work commute in good weather and one afternoon I came around a fairly sharp curve to find a SOB had laid a thick bed of grass cuttings on the road - caused some sphincter pucker but got through it safely.
