  1. I added an amp and a sub. Let me pull the panel away tomorrow and I will photo how they did it.
  2. Under the hood lights are perfect for those late night belt breaks, battery problems and other issues. Sure, if it's under warranty, you can call assistance....but what if it's something you can fix right there? Digging in the glovebox at night is a pain when there's no light. It's the little things that come in handy when certain situations arise...just my opinion.
  3. That period of the day is only 15-20 mins.
  4. It looks like it doesn't cover as well as others...

Just wondering how many other (if any) Electronica heads drive an Edge. Bueller? Bueller?
  6. ALWAYS test an inconspicuous area first. As long as your Edge is THOROUGHLY cleaned and clay bar'd immediately afterwards (per the directions, of course), you should be ok. You sure there's no WalMart in Oregon?
  7. Welcome and you'll find TONS of useful info here!
  8. Oh yeah, about the clay bar....If it's been a month or 3 since your last wax, wash your Edge with some Dawn Ultra dishoap. This will remove any wax you have left behind. then you use a clay bar kit (for about 15 bucks) and follow the directions. Easy to do, just time consuming. It'll remove paint contaminants caught in the clear coat. THEN you wax it. You're "suppose" to use a polish in between the clay and wax, but newer cars usually don't require this.
  9. GOO GONE XTREME Find it in the paint section at Wally World. It's a liquid. I swear by it. It'll even take off old sap that has hardened. People ask me to buff off scuff marks and little do they know, a few wipes with this stuff on a microfiber rag and it's gone. :yup:
  10. It's amazing what comes off of the paint onto that clay bar, isn't it?
  11. Damn, that's alot of $$.....is this a Ford body shop or an insurance recommended one?
  12. It should not be the same part #....Gibson's fault
  13. Same happened to my wife a few weeks back. Not nearly as bad as yours though. Glad you all are ok. To replace a bent exhaust system, repair/paint a small dent in the hatch and replace/paint the entire rear bumper and plastic was over $2K. Of course, we had the Ford Body Shop do it.
  14. Funny you say that.. My buddy started selling their systems, so I told him he could come give us his "in home demonstration" crap so he could get $50. Well, after promising that my dishes would be spotless (as well as anything else), I thought that this may be the answer. I was, at the time, bartering my detail water from a medical supply company and it was a bit of a hassle. SO - $5K later, we had a whole house softener/air purification system and some spotted dishes and car. After going to their office and pissing and moaning, they took 2 grand off and gave us years worth of laundry/dishwasher/hand/shower/car soaps. They also gave us craploads of fake armor all/furniture polish/stainless steel cleaner/window, well, you get it. So, after wasting your time reading this, the bottom line is, other than water that feels, well, soft, RAINSOFT SUCKS. All it does is replace certain chemicals in your water with salt, which is a spotty substance...and any softener can do that, regardless of what Florence Henderson says. Spot free can only be made 3 ways - Distillation/Reverse Osmosis/Deionization.
  15. ...and perhaps the system ordered was for the FWD
  16. Call your local water filtration company and get a set of 4ft DI tanks delivered to your home. For $75-$100, you will get thousands of gallons of filtered, spot-free water. I have the 5ft tanks and I get over 3 months of use before they need to be swapped out....and I am constantly filling my 60 gal tank in my detail van. I'm washing about 15 cars per tank too. So, for a homeowner that washes 2-4 times per month, you're talking maybe a year or more worth of use. The one time cost (per year or so) for never having to hand dry your car is more than worth it IMO. Of course, it all depends on the TDS of the water coming into the tanks. Mine varies between 190-250.
  17. The meguiar's line....Gold Class is a good "all around" easy on/off wax. Their bottom line "cleaner wax" is good in direct sunlight. I, personally, like the Tech 2.0 wax in the purple bottle. It's pretty easy on/off as well. I've used the base Mother's wax and it is comparable to Meguiar's.
  18. I use professional detail products for my business, but for off of the shelf stuff, Mothers/Mequiars are pretty good. 3M is a little better than those though. I use Ardex and Albert Kemperle
  19. I've had mine for several months now and no problems so far. The only draw back is the driver door key hole - shows too much color, letting everyone know just how fake they are.
