Nearly every car made w/ plastic bumpers has a paint difference between the bumpers and metal. The paint adheres differently to different materials. My Maxima was the same way....so is my Edge...and my neighbors Z4
Damn. Looks like your Edge was used as a guinea pig of some sort  . No issues with my blazing copper except for how the paint is not as reflective on the panel around the lic plate.
I'd def would be extremely upset if my Edge took longer than expected only to get that in return.
As long as your chrome is in good shape (no holes or pits) you can use acid on the plastic. Chrome is the coating and the acid won't penetrate the plastic.
I got mine off of Ebay for around $47 shipped. They've been on for 7 months and still look great and are firmly attatched. Same quality as the chrome cladded wheels, IMO. They've been subjected to FL heat and humidity too...
For the chrome wheels polish them with a chrome polish (use a powerball if there are stubborn spots) and then wax them to seal the polish. If that doesn't get your worst areas clean, a chrome wheel acid will. Just try and keep it off of the wheel lips. After acid, immediately follow with polish and wax.
If you get the vent visors, go for the "in channel" ones, as the outside taped ones begin to come off after awhile. I, too, like the slim hood deflector, as long as it's not the wrap around kind.
I'm a little ticked off that I barely kept up with the Lebaron in front of me yesterday. Yes, I know how to drive, but HP to weight ratio is a killer....just my 2 cents.
