  1. I think that it's more of a mis-interpretation of what Ford calls a comfort zone. I think all of our BAMRs are performing correctly.
  2. It does open to about 18" on the first touch. It closes till about 6-8" on first touch. That is normal operation. Not sure about your 6-8" inches on first opening touch.
  3. I'm sure Lexus and Audi have technology waaay more advanced than that 900X bulb... ...as far as reflector pattern....have you ever seen a headlight bulb that has not been twised in properly, tilting the bulb a bit? You are correct - the light does bounce off of the reflectors, but from a "central" point. Some headlight assemblies are really small, so even a 1/5" in movement of the filament will change the way that filament reflects. Just unscrew and wiggle your headlight bulb (just a little bit, to simulate a different filament position) while looking at a garage door or looking in your headlight (not directly, obviously) and look at how the beam changes. I don't know, there's something funny about these bulbs. He probably has to say "for show use" for liability purposes and the fact that they don't produce a good beam.
  4. This technology is currently in place for the new Lexus LS hybrid and Audi A8. I'm definitely not an expert, but I came across this from another seller on ebay. "What are the positives and negatives to running LEDs in my headlights? LED headlight bulbs match the colors intended far better then HID or halogen and the color doesn't change over time. LED bulbs never burn out, stay cool to the touch and use a fraction of the power required by either HIDs or halogen. The one drawback is LED light output although is very visible does not provide sufficient light output on the ground for safe driving conditions. LED headlight bulbs are intended only for show car or off road use." A headlight's cut pattern was designed specifically for where the bulb's filament sits. These LEDs have light all around the bulb, instead of the middle. All of those LEDs are way different than a 1/4" long filament.
  5. Welcome and Congrats....here's a few options I came across.. http://www.ford-parts-direct.com/productDe...roductTypeID=10 http://www.conquestauto.com/servlet/the-67...ge-Cargo/Detail http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?sho...amp;#entry11886
  6. I decided to put one up. Not too bad, actually.

    Hi all

Welcome! The mod bug hit me as soon as I found this forum. DOH!
  8. Hells yeah! I'm with Lex, I'd love to see it.
  9. A 20/80 solution of purple power/water works wonders for me as a detailer, but as ixlar stated, test an inconspicuous area first.
  10. I know that the dash is painted tan, so the armrest may be the same. What did you use to clean it?
  11. NICE RIDE! 1st order of business.....getting that dealer logo under LINCOLN off. aww hell, might as well debadge the whole rear.
  12. Well, your Edge has more 2nd row leg room than an Explorer! Common probs with the BAMR are (there are numerous threads in here regarding the hole in the roof)... Rattling trim ring in the fixed glass portion The buttons don't light up (in the Edge, unless you mod them) Popping/creaking sounds when opening/closing ugh...and that ugly bug catcher that pops up when it opens. regardless of these, I love mine!
  13. AMEN. Sure helps when loading/unloading DJ equipment and Real Estate signs.
  14. doesn't look any cheaper than the chrome cladded wheels...
  15. I'm not trying to impress anyone with a small rubber piece that's designed to keep my paint from getting harmed....don't think it'll cost me points in the parking lot...
  16. It was cheap...and effective. If I wanted to, I could have mouned it a 1/4 inch back, but I wanted it where you see it. Cheap or not, it'll take a beating before it gets punctured. You can spend more and buy a Ford one, which is thinner.
  17. They're on Ebay. I love mine. Around $45 shipped.
  18. No prob! I'm sure it'll be good for a couple of years, but as a detailer, I come across peeling wood dashes all of the time. It is possible to clean the residue, but most of the Edge's dash is painted, and the paint could come off as well.
  19. You don't have elec a/c controls? Be careful with the wood stick on stuff. I'm sure in AZ it won't take long before the heat really gets to the adhesive. Welcome aboard!
  20. I know this because the Dodge dealership crimped my aftermarket nav wire between the metal and the plastic. Idiots. Anywho, I have the whole console up in my attic, just waiting for some love.
  21. You'll love it! Welcome aboard!
