Engine cover for 2020 Edge Titanium 2.0L ??
IcyFridge replied to cdestuck's topic in Exterior & Body
I spent my money elsewhere and bought a Lufi XF gauge. ? -
Would the ST swaybar work on a SE?
-
Been a while but I'm interested in this too. Any update?

Engine cover for 2020 Edge Titanium 2.0L ??
IcyFridge replied to cdestuck's topic in Exterior & Body
Yeah. Wow expensive for a piece of plastic. -
So I have location and vehicle data enabled to use my FordPass app to remote start my car. The problem is that every time I turn the radio on, I get a message warning me that this is enabled. It's annoying as I have to scroll down and press ok. Is this something I'm stuck with or will it go away somehow?

2019 2.0 Intake - cold air kits?
IcyFridge replied to IcyFridge's topic in Accessories & Modifications
The edge is my 4th turbo vehicle and I haven't had any problems with Dryflow filters. I don't really use oiled filters either. -
I currently have a drop in Dryflow filter in my 2019 2.0. Now that I have a tune, I'd love to get a cone filter setup to maximize gains. I know it may suck in more hot air in summer months, but I wanted to know if anyone makes a CAI kit for the 2.0.

Tried to google around, but could not find the weight of the OEM 5 spoke 18x8 silver wheels that comes standard on the SE. Thinking about getting some new wheels, but I'd like to get something that's lighter than OEM.
-
For me it's quite an improvement. Perhaps it's something to do with gas or elevation. It's no hot rod, but can keep up with most sporty cars.
-
Oh. I have confidence in the tune for that. The power is there, but with the 90+ degree temps we have in NY... I don't push it. This morning it was a 67 degrees drive, and I opened it up. So nice and quick!

I'd love to do this to my 2019 SE. Can you list out every part you had to order and where from? -
Do the snowflakes tuck in more than the stock Edge wheels? I'd love to get a set of Rado Grey snowflakes for my 2019 but don't want more wheel tuck.

So I got the tune loaded up on my 2019 SE and here are my thoughts; Coming from a long list of tuned vehicles, the difference with the LMS tune is not "oh my god" different. However it is a significant boost in performance. When I first pulled out of my driveway, I was disappointed because it felt like stock. After about a half mile, it really woke up. Took a spin around the neighborhood along with a highway jaunt. Around the city, the transmission is buttery smooth. No more clunking and jerking at all! Low throttle (normal driving) feels like stock. Mid throttle gives you a little more "push" in the seat. Gunning it at 35mph actually introduced a little torque steer, much to my surprise. It seems the tune has massive power gains in the midrange, which is where you have your passing power. On my brief WOT run on the highway, the Edge did not feel like it was struggling to get up to speed like it was before. It reached 80mph pretty effortlessly. Passing power over 55mph has not been tested, as the highway drive I took was only a mile long. Using Sport Mode was what made the most difference. Running in this mode made the Edge feel like my old Focus ST power-wise when it was stock. So that to me, is pretty impressive considering the 4000+ lb weight of the Edge. Throttle sensitivity doesn't seem to be changed too much. It is a little more sensitive, but not like a trigger finger as I've experienced with some other tuned vehicles. All in all, I am definitely pleased with the tune. It is about 80 degrees outside (muggy and humid), and I'm sure the performance benefits would be even more obvious when it's cooler outside. The Edge does not feel like a porker anymore, and feels like a lightweight car. The benefits are in line with what I have experienced in tuning other vehicles. No, it's not going to be like "Whoa Nelly" like when I went to Stage 2 Protune on my old WRX. It actually reminded me of the difference I felt when I tuned my Focus ST. Tuned vehicles I've owned; 2008 Jeep JK Wrangler, 2011 Dodge Charger V6, 2008 Subaru WRX, 2004 Subaru WRX, 2018 Focus ST, and now a 2019 Edge. The only vehicles I had a drastic difference with was the 2008 WRX, as it gained a turboback and intake with the tune. I'm sure the Edge would also be drastically different with that as well. I do have an AFE Pro Dry S filter, and a custom exhaust with a 14x9 Magnaflow muffler. TLDR: The Edge 2.0L LMS tune makes for a decent "Stage 1" tune that should provide ample midrange and passing power. I'm already looking forward to testing against some of the young'un boy racers with their Honda Civic Sports. I have full confidence in the power the tune gives me in order to put those Civics down.

I noticed something real interesting yesterday. When my AC is running and the engine is in Drive on my 2019 Edge; if you hold the brake and stay (like at a red light) the car will rock slightly. Turning off the AC (not fan) or shifting to P or R will stop it. Anyone notice this? It rocks from front to back, not sideways. I think it might be the load from the AC compressor.

I bit the bullet and went ahead and ordered one for my 2019 SE.

Direct Injection and Carbon Buildup
IcyFridge replied to tamugrad2013's topic in EcoBoost Mod & Tech
The higher pressures at the RPMs used in the Italian Tune up definitely clear out the carbon deposits. If you gun it, you'll see the smoke come out and after that the soot will diminish over time on the exhaust tips. I know it isn't scientific. I just know that when I was on the Focus ST forums and the Mustang forums, some members swear by it. I tried it and it did make a minor difference for me, so I've been doing it once every two weeks. -
Direct Injection and Carbon Buildup

With direct injection, hitting boost will clean those deposits out. Focus ST guys goose it every now and then to cook off the deposits. Driving like a granny all the time builds the deposits more. -
Claude - any update after updating the tuner and driving around stock for a bit? Also with 93 gas it should be a blast to drive. Seems you were still running on low test gas.
-
I just find this odd. I have tuned previous cars with smaller turbos and had massive gains. I'd press LMS to look into the tune file again. It seems to be rocking the escape 2.0 and people love it. Same motor.
-
Where can I find this addco swaybar? And is it an easy swap (not having to drop exhaust/rear axle)? Not looking to lower my edge as I use it for off roading from time to time to get to the hunting cabin.
-
Bumping this. As I am seriously considering the LMS tuner. Is the performance and shifting noticeably improved? I run 93 octane only anyways.
-
My 2019 Edge SE likes to wander a bit as I'm used to a sharper handling car. Are there any swaybar or suspension upgrades to make it not lean so much when turning?
-
Any update on this? I'm curious if there's a noticeable gain and for gods sake... Better transmission mapping.
-
Check the other thread out. And yep... mine chugs like it's 2 gears too high at specific speeds. Usually around 15mph. It bothers me because that's the speed I am at when I turn into any road.
-
Every day, it's something different. This morning I pulled out of my driveway and it was like the transmission went into neutral for a second before shifting. CLUNK. Only happens once in a while. The only thing that really bothers me is how aggressive the transmission upshifts (WAYYYYY too early). Also, when using the paddle shifters... I can see the RPMs changing as if a gear was changed, but the dashboard still shows the current gear. Annoying as hell. I miss my Focus ST already...
