  1. That's definitely more fair. And covid, more specifically all the stimulus bills that have passed printing more and more money like pre-ww2 germany, has driven up the price of everything. So sad.
  2. How is the sound? Any drone at highway speeds? Sound clip?
  3. It's not been advertised anywhere, but I heard about it on the facebook group. So I messaged Anthony @ LMS and he confirmed it, but they have a huge backlog because of new customers and etc. Plus my source code is apparently unique and will require a new code to be written, and uploaded to their server. So if you're wanting to update ASAP, I'd still give it a couple weeks. When I get mine I'll update you guys so you know when it's on. ?
  4. Don't get me wrong, it looks incredible, but $3300 for wheels and tires?! Good grief. That's a hard pill for me to swallow. That's a good chunk of go fast goodies for the Talon or GSX.
  5. I've gotten it as low as 4.8, but traction is still an issue even then. If I could hook up I know I could drop a few more tenths. But, alas. As long as it isn't wheelhopping, spinning saves drivelines. As far as refilling, honestly it's easy. Just check the ethanol content of the E85 every couple to few weeks and make sure its still in the same range, and then mix according to your favorite ethanol calculator online. What works for me is my local station is always either E60 or E70, so I just pump 6 gallons of E85, and 8 gallons of pump 93. Makes at minimum E31 or at maximum(say if you got lucky and got full 85% ethanol) E41. Both are well within correctable standards of the tune from livernois. It only basically adds one other step to fueling. Instead of just pumping one fuel and going, you just add a little more of another fuel. Adds on maybe an extra minute. Not bad, and SO worth it for the performance! And this is all on the old LMS v3 tune. I haven't updated to the V4 tune yet, that everyone is raving about. Mods are in my signature. With a solid tune, drop in filter, and sticky tires(definitely RMM too), I'd expect 0-60's in the 4.6-4.8 range and 1/4's in the 12.9-13.2 range, both being conservative numbers. Wife just recently had a dragy run of 13.5 @ 86 1/4 mile, and she started braking HARD at 85mph because she thought she saw "someone". 1/8th was 8.50 flat @ 83.5, so that would've been a 12 second pass all day. Both of these times were before I installed the new CP-E rear motor mount. These cars RIP with basic stuff done to them! Can't wait to see what new runs can be achieved on the V4 tune and the addition of the upgraded rear motor mount.
  6. Did a ton of little small things recently. Among the few is. 1) Brand new set of Ford Performance Plugs(used to be called the SP542's) gapped to what LMS says. Definitely a noticeable difference as the stock ones were all gapped to like 0.030-0.035 2) This. CP-E "stage 1" Rear Motor Mount. As far as steps go, it was super easy to replace. But as far as tightness of the main 21mm bolt? Oh my GOD was that thing tight. Did they dip it in cement to use as thread locker from the factory? Used a jack and a leveller to take all the weight off, got the trans side 15mm bolt out no sweat, and good GOD it didn't help at all. It would come 1/4 turn at a time, and make a loud SNAP everytime. I legit thought I was breaking it or stripping it, but it finally got it past the OEM Thread locker, and it came right out nice and easy. After the bolt came out, to my total amazement it was not stripped, cross-threaded, or even a tiny bit damaged. Clear it with a wire wheel and it looked pristine. It 100% looked covered in blue cement though before I wire-wheeled it. WTF Ford? It went back in with my fingers, all the way fully seated. Legit just that much threadlocker, so if anyone else does this in the future...be ready. Put fire on the bolt for a long time, and use a 3' breaker bar along with a cheater bar if you've got it, and just do work. Once it's out though, it takes 10-15 seconds to install the CPE mount and torque it down. Both of these together made a noticeable difference in throttle response, top end performance(new spark plugs gapped tighter), and weirdly the front end feels tighter/more sturdy. Maybe that's a placebo but it definitely feels tighter and more responsive to throttle, turns, and general handling. I actually really like the new driving experience with it, I can feel the engine through the steering wheel at idle, but not in a bad way. My DSM with solid mounts is straight retarded by comparison, so this is a cake walk. Curious to get some new 0-60's and 1/4 mi Dragy runs tonight to see if it made any kind of difference.
  7. Gotta love these cars. I honestly think sticky summer tires are a must at the same time as any kind of decent performance tune for these vehicles, because my 245 tiger paws on the E30 tune just makes launching a chore. Either too little and it's 0-60 in the 4.9-5.2 range, or it just does a burnout. But, I love me a good black Edge for sure. Hate it when spring comes and it gets "painted" yellow by the overzealous trees and plants.
  8. These look incredible, especially the Carbon! I missed out on all of this because of life happening and becoming an EMT, and moving...but what are the prices? If possible, can I get a price including shipping to 27357? For both carbon and non.
  9. I've been gone for awhile, but what an awesome thing to come back to! Soon as this is complete I'll throw in an order for it. Maybe it'll work out that when I'm done moving and everything that I can order both the cowl and this intake at one time! Awesome that you took my advice. ?
  10. You canā€™t claim dibs on every form of custom airbox, so with all due respect to those two, theyā€™d honestly either have to understand or just be mad. Youā€™re not doin it on purpose. Plus they still havenā€™t released it for sale. Just make your own design, and donā€™t purposefully copy their stuff. I donā€™t see the problem. A bird in the hand, and all that. The joys of capitalism is if his product is better whenever it may be released, the market will gravitate there. Plus if you made it right you could market it to the fusion sport guys. Win win.
  11. Might not add power but they absolutely make a difference in performance. Shift your vehicle even 500rpm too soon and measure the difference in performance you get. Itā€™s significant.
  12. Those X5M's are no joke. Especially tuned. I like how fast the Euro vehicles can be, but my god are they a nightmare to work on, maintain, and god forbid fix if something goes wrong. The whole VANOS thing is legendarily notorious, and that's just the start. Love to ride in or rent them, but would never own one. Lol.
  13. We already talked on the tune thread, but figured I'd post here incase anyone new reads your question and wants the answer. Mandatory Stuff that I can recall 1) Change the PTU(power transfer unit, used to be called a transfer case in older vehicles) fluid immediately if you don't know when it's last been changed. If it's very, very metallic/dirty, replace the fluid in 3000 miles again. I honestly plan on changing my PTU fluid every other oil change, but others suggest every 30,000 miles. The PTU is the weak link here. 2) The ABS system in these vehicle is semi-stupid. One wheel sensor going out, one dirty sensor, one dirty PLUG in the system will disable not only the ABS, but the traction control, stability control, park assist, lane keeping assist, and damn near every single feature that has to do with driving. If it's a rear sensor that's out, it'll disable AWD too. So I'd keep an eye on those wheel speed sensors and connectors if any of these things suddenly happen to you. 3) Only the front windows will roll down if you click the unlock button twice and hold it down. They will not roll back up either via the lock button, you have to roll them up via the switches inside. Can't think of anything else, I'm sure someone else will correct me or add to this as needed, but the PTU fluid is 100% a necessity. Super important for longevity as these PTU's can be finicky.
  14. It is super fun, honestly. I have two DSMs that are both well under the 11 second mark, and every time I get in this edge I thoroughly enjoy it. The tune made a world of difference and I couldn't be happier. I'm having to stop myself from doing anything else because I am 100% confident I could get this heavy pig into the 11's, but then I'd have to buy ANOTHER daily driver, and I can't have anything boring, so I'd probably get an Explorer ST and then that needs an intercooler, E85 conversion, sticky tires, and an exhaust at minimum...and then history repeats itself. ? It's gotta be one of my favorite vehicles ever. Especially because it attracts NO attention from Johnny Law. I don't even get a first glance, much less a second. Completely go by unnoticed. And it's still enough to surprise your average ecoboost mustang, V6 Camaro, older V8 mustangs, etc.
  15. I'm on Livernois Motorsports E30 tune. Back on their 93 tune my best 0-60 was 4.9 Seconds(4.7 with 1 ft rollout), but traction was an issue for sure. With wider, stickier tires even on the heavy rims 4.7-4.6 would be 100% feasible and 12's no problem. I caught a little bit of traction finally and ran 12.8's on the E30 tune, still spinning though. On 93 I have no doubt 12.9's were in it as well, if I could've gotten traction. I would assume unleashed/any "custom" tune would be quicker for sure. Livernois is relatively canned/one size fits all. Still really, really happy with it though. On E30 I kept within a car of a base model C7 convertible corvette. Not saying I beat him or even close, but keeping within a car, in a quiet, unassuming, stock looking SUV got me a major smile and thumbs up from the guy. SS of 0-60 run
  16. I'm very interested, especially if you go E50 tune after the 93 tune. I love my Dragy for sure. I'm the fastest edge in my region. ?
  17. Also, I use brew city boost's ethanol calculator, but there are a million different ones out there. I like BCB's because it tells you the octane as well.
  18. For max power, nothing beats an E blend. Nothing. For ease of use (just fill up and go, no need to test or worry about mixing), can't beat 93. And the 93 tune will still be fast. Still run 13.2's on an LMS 93 tune with traction being an issue.
  19. If you're gonna run an E blend of fuel, I would highly suggest getting an E85 tester, as E85 blends can vary wildly, and if you're tuned on the ragged edge and consistently running less E than you're tuned for, it can end up costing you an engine. Plus it'll just run better with the proper blend. Also, tunes do a lot more than just change or advance the timing. The air fuel ratio is adjusted, shift points, line pressure, etc. It's a lot.
  20. That looks great. I can't bring myself to do it because I'm like an old man and want comfort. Lol. But man that looks great.
  21. You may need to purchase another credit for HP Tuners if it's gonna be used for a different vehicle than the initial one. That's a really good point though, still should be cheaper than LMS tune. A credit and a tune itself from a company you already use should be nice and inexpensive. While you're there, and if you have E85 in your area, ask for an E30-E50 tune too! You'll thank yourself later.
  22. I've done more than a few FWD --> AWD swaps on DSMs, and let me tell you the only reason to do it, is if you have a massive personal attachment to the original car, or you cannot find a rust free AWD shell at all. It requires about 10x than you would think. You may even have to weld the rear subframe bolts and suspension may be entirely different. If there's no spot for the rear diff, then you'll have to cut the rear floor pan out, and weld in one from the AWD vehicle. Potentially brake lines, fuel lines are all different..etc. And not to mention wiring, sensors, and everything else that may be different. I'd honestly just buy a clean AWD Edge, try to find one with a blown motor or something. Try to 2.3 swap it at the same time. Win-win.
  23. FWIW My livernois tune has been awesome, and their customer service for me was second to none. No issues with their tune on my vehicle and so far I've put roughly 30,000 miles on it, 10,000 of which was the E30 tune(current tune). As long as you are just a tune only, livernois is 100% fine. Start messing with turbos and serious fueling mods, that's when your engine is at risk. It's a canned tune. Even the best tuners have freak accidents where everything is fine and the engine lets go or a HG pops. If they say otherwise, they're 100% lying. I actually had the head of development/tuning from Livernois call me personally to help me out with uploading the tune and spent an hour just shooting the breeze with me. Take that for what its worth. Congrats on the new Edge!
  24. Speak for yourself. ?
  25. I don't get it either.
