  1. here's the post from when I did mine; http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/6680-2011-sellmtd-painted-frontback-lipsside-rocker-panels/
  2. Yes, you can order the factory Sport body kit, but expect to pay big $$$ for it - it doesn't come pre-painted, and it will require installation. There's a thread on here with the OE part #'s and retail pricing for the lower Sport cladding. FWIW - have a look in my photos ~ I've got an '11 Limited, and had the grille, and the lower claddings all painted to match - at a substantially lower cost than the Sport kit.
  3. looks promising. I've been waiting for something for the MyTouch options
  4. That's not a bad price tho... I priced it out in Canadain, and it was close to $4G - just for the parts.
  5. Rocker Lt - BT4Z78101A05APTM Rocker Rt - BT4Z78101A04APTM Rear Bumper Lwr - BT4Z17K835DPTM Front Bumper Lwr - BT4Z17D957CPTM These parts are pretty pricey - and they don't come painted. Have a look at mine - I originally thought about doing the same - before I found out the cost! I had the black textured mouldings prepped and painted, along with the three chrome grille pieces. They've held up quite well, it's been over a year and no chips.
  6. hmmmmm - interesting.... Maybe I'll re-install my el-cheapo switchbacks and see what happens.... how long were they in before the rapid-flash went away?
  7. I don't know if I should use these; 39mm Festoon or these; 41mm Festoon for the rear dome light / cargo light in my 2011. Thoughts? Only downfall is they don't have any 35mm Festoon bulbs for the puddle lamps....
  8. I attempted to flip the leads on the bottom of the bulb to the opposite sides of the connector and when I installed them it appeared to be correct... the switchbacks illuminated white! However, upon trying the signal - devistation The signal now operates with the white remaining illuminated - AW vs. AO and have the common rapid-flash which was not evident prior to the lead swap...When I operate the 4-way flashers, they work correctly. I'm glad they were only a few bucks opposed to what some members are paying... but I think I may bite the bullet and buy some quality ones from V-LEDS.
  9. My Switchback LED's When I first installed them, they work backwards! The DRL illuminates amber - and they flasher illuminates white. Because they're LED, this is not just as simple as turning the bulb around. After several exhaustive hours of internet research, it appears it may be as simple as adjusting the leads on the bottom of the switchback bulb to the opposite orientation... I plan on tackling this sometime over the next few evenings. I'll take pics and post results. As they were a fraction of the price compared to some I've seen, this so far is a small hurdle I am willing to live with. I'll let you know how they turn out.
  10. I also just received a set from Ebay - I'll let you know how they work out
  11. Can someone upload a picture of what exactly the new headrests look like vs. the old headrests?
  12. I still haven't received mine yet... I've been calling about every Friday... If I have to go to the dealer I will, but I'd rather not. (Vancouver here too)
  13. Interested in this 'plug & play' lighting. Do you have a link to your webpage?
  14. Any new information regarding a by-pass for the MFT Sync system?
  15. here's the link to the post I put up. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/6680-2011-sellmtd-painted-frontback-lipsside-rocker-panels/ Mine's White Platinum Tri-Coat. They're basic plastic, nothing special. For a quality job, they need to be removed, cleaned, plastic prepped, primed, painted and cleared. At a regular production facility, expect it to be close to $2k. I've had mine done for over a year now, and haven't had so much as a pit (albeit due to the chrome backing, I have a few small rock chips to the grille pieces) I've painted 3 Edges in total like this. Haven't had any issues.
  16. I bought a set of AVS ones and ended up returning them - they fit like garbage. I'd like to step-up to Weathertech ones, but I can't justify the proce to the wife right now.
  17. I work in the industry (albeit in BC) but am a fully accredited shop for all makes/models and all insurance companies. If you have a picture, I can give you a basic idea of what you should be looking for...
  18. Looks good! It would look better painted body color with the lower claddings tho.
  19. I've been trained by 3M for the install procedure - I definately would not recomend it. It's very difficult and tedious. The clear bra has to be installed wet onto a soap-like solution using alchohol to wik away moisture from beneath and activate the glue. I've only had the (dis)pleasure of installing a handful on different applications, and having been professionaly trained, I still have troubles sometimes.
  20. I'm also in Canada - Vancouver - on my Edge as well the LED's light up with remote start. The DRL's are the amber lights in the headlamps the LED strips also illuminate with low-beam under normal driving conditions.
  21. Not an option for us either... our DRL's are actually the amber signal lamps located in the headlights. If I could... I'd change them too. As far as perks... try driving a Canadian Edge... the SYNC system is stripped of the all the useful features that you guys get standard.
  22. Could be worse... You could be stuck in Canada - we get no additional support or options regarding weather, traffic, sports. I get a radio and a GPS. That is all. Everything else has been locked out by FORD.
  23. if you're referring to this piece, It is a one-piece unit that comes with the applique. You cannot simply buy the chrome inlay seperately. The applique is listed at PTM (paint-to-match) If I remember correctly, it's about $300ish (up here in Canada at least)

    Color Matched Cladding

I color matched all of the lower cladding on my 2011 White Platinum Edge Limited. Here are the pics of the process...
