  1. I have no oily residue anywhere in my engine compartment. It sounds like the crankcase vent tube may be loose or off. This tube takes the air from the valve covers and directs it back into the air induction. I deleted this on my mustang as it is strictly for emission purposes. Take the car in to your dealer and have everything inspected. You should never hear a "metallic snap" when starting an engine. If everything checks out at the dealer, I strongly suggest you switch to Mobil 1 0W-20 full synthetic oil. After I switched @15,000 miles, my MPG went up 1.2 mpg...according to the computer, so it actually pays for itself, not to mention much better protection on a "cold" start-up.
  2. Mothers cleaner wax in the red round tin is awesome. 3M is comparable to mothers, but I prefer using a round cotton terry cloth applicator with the paste. The "cleaner" waxes remove bugs, tar and road grime with ease. Mothers spray wax is excellent after every wash. The mothers clay bar system will make your car shine more than when it was new, but really isn't necessary for newer cars. Meguiars is okay, but I get too much white powder with it. When I use mothers, it is the only wax that will allow the towel to slide right off the hood.........This may not be scientific, but the paint is smooth as glass. Bottom line, whatever wax you use, use it at least 4 times a year on your car.
  3. I have used every wax/polish/compound on the market. Mothers makes the best products available......period. My Dad used zymol on his black mustang and it did remove swirl marks but that is because it is abrasive. Zymol would be a good product for the "spring cleaning" of the vehicle.
  4. I had a set of coopers on a car not a truck. They flat spotted after sitting for 1 day and the traction was horrible. BFG's or michelins have always been good to me. Maybe cooper makes a better truck tire.
  5. Michelin lattitude .....stock for limited r the best tires I have ever owned there is very little rolling resistance which helps mpgs
  6. I activated mine, did not see light but felt it. I was exiting the highway and didn't know that this sharp abrupt curve preceeded me. I thought I was going to roll it because the tires began to screech. The best way I can describe the feeling is that the hand of God literally kept my car from rolling and kept me on the road. It was a very weird feeling like someone took control of my car. The RSC is an amazing feature and I would have believed it did nothing until that day. BTW, RSC is roll stability control and I know ESC is electronic stability control.....does the Edge have both or are the terms being used incorrectly. I drove a Hyundai sonata....(rental) and it had ESC and this thing went like a snowmobile in the snow.
  7. What dealer doesn't have a spring compressor ???
  8. The car is all-wheel drive when moving from a stop. At highway cruising, just the fronts power the car.
  9. Take your car to a different dealer for service.
  10. It's the wheel bearing.
  11. I agree. I had seals replaced and 5,000 miles later, no leaks. I physically check around the seal area from time to time and all is dry.
  12. Weathertech......$99 shipped from Amazon.com
  13. 2008 Limited AWD........15,500 miles 10.4 City 11.2 Highway I am very impressed with these numbers. I was expecting around 9's for city :D
  14. WD-40 is an excellent cleaner, but it stinks.
  15. I know audiovox is garbage, but the price is low and I will purchase the 3 year warranty. What is the price difference for vizualogic ?
  16. I have The BAMR, but have no clue what the words stand for. I have had zero issues with the "BAMR" I just wish you could hit the close button and it would actually close all the way. I don't know where they got the term "express close"
