  1. Anyone have the weathertech Vent visors installed on their Edge? If so, how is the fit and finish of the product. Also, does it bind up the windows as they close at the top. I have window tint on the fronts and was also wondering if the visors affect the film. :stats:
  2. I just wanted the 911 assist. I ran a VHR and it spewed some BS about my ABS sensors as well as oil pressure indication. The VHR is only good if there is a recall on the vehicle since you would be notified earlier than if you were to receive it in the mail. BTW, I had to have a new sync module installed as well as other parts to get the VHR/911 assist to load to the cpu. It's fun watching the techs tear the engineers at ford a new hole because each acts like the other has no idea what they are talking about.
  3. Sync is the shiz, one of the big reasons we bought the edge. People can't believe that I talk to my car............and it actually listens. Awesome feature and works flawlessly.
  4. Anyone else confirm this ? I do not know why I get the 3 "chimes" when the liftgate reaches the top. Only had the "chimes" when closing.
  5. Cross-drilled rotors will eat pads quickly. I think you need a different compound of pad. Ceramics are good for cross-drilled rotors.
  6. Okay, Mr. Edsel, how do you adjust for more braking in the rear as opposed to the fronts or vice versa ?
  7. Rototrs do wear out akirb......thats why pep boys advertises "lifetime" pads because they eat the rotor not the pad.
  8. Sounds like your proportioning valve needs to be adjusted.
  9. That "parts guy" must be related to akirby.
  10. Ford WSS-M2C930-A Mobil 1 meets the ford specifications. I do not claim to know more than ford engineers and I do not understand the hostility towards myself. Wether it's -20 degrees outside or 100 degrees, faster, easier oil flow at start-up is critical. You people really need to educate yourself before spouting off on here when all I was trying to do is offer some helpful advice......sheesh !
  11. I have a 2001 Mustang GT and never had one problem/issue with it. I bought my wife a limted '08 blazing copper and aside from the issues, we love it. I adore the Flex, the wife hates it. Whenever I see one, I think about the beach boys...."loadin' up the woody with the boards inside" The flex is truly an awesome vehicle even though I have never driven one. Congrats on the purchase !
  12. I tried plastic pool furniture cleaner and it worked well. Nothing beats elbow grease and plain 'ol soap. never use an acid based cleaner on plastic.
  13. As for rings not seating properly by switching to a full synthetic @1,000 miles is false. Porsches, lambos, vets come with mobil 1 from the factory. A 0W-20 will flow much better at start-up than a 5W-20 because the viscosity of the 0 weight is thinner. When warmed up to temp, 0W-20 and 5W-20 have the same viscosity. Warrantys can be denied for anything but using full synthetic or switching to 0W will not void your warranty. I switched to mobil1 0W-20 @ 15,000 miles and gained a little over 1 mpg......it adds up ! Motorcraft oil is one of the best oils out there....it is cheap and well made. When they make a full synthetic in 0 weight, I will switch. There were many tests conducted for the benefits of using synthetic such as a test where synthetic was put in a car for 50,000 miles and then torn down and examined. There were no signs of wear on the engine components and the oil was still usable. Bottom line, if you can afford to use full synthetics, do so and never look back.....Theres a reason they call non-synthetic oil....."dino oil" :yup:
  14. NXT 2.0 wash and wax. Believe me, I have used them all. The 2.0 lasts the longest and water does not bead up.....it sheets off the car leaving it virtually "waterproof".
  15. I had an exhaust control valve solenoid replaced along with the camshaft position sensor. Same symptoms as yours. Edge was only in shop 4 days though. I know the CPS is in front of the motor and motor removal was not necessary. Repair took a half day, waited 3 days for parts to come in.
  16. I thought of that. With keys in, it makes that long continuous mrrrrrrrrrrpppp.
  17. I know that the liftgate always goes "ding, ding ding" when you push the close button, but just this weekend, upon opening just as it nears full open....I get the same "ding, ding ding" chime. I have never had this chime before when opening the power liftgate. Does anyone with a power liftgate have the "ding ding ding" when it opens ? :angry2:
  18. Same here, my 2001 'Stang does it as well. Injector noise opening and closing. I cannot explain why some do it and others do not. I run Mobiol 1 0W-20 BTW. Had a '08 taurus......same engine, and it purred like a kitten. Not to mention ripped first and second gear spinning tires. I cannot hear it from inside the vehicle so I'm not worried about it.
  19. They need to replace the bands and servos. Take it to a different dealer.
  20. SVT, you have any close-up pics of your tails ? If so, how many coats did you spray ?
  21. Those shiny plastic covers are glued to the metal rim. They are impossible to remove.
  22. 1. No 2. Sport package 22" polished aluminum rims 3. Yes
  23. CarFax is garbage. The dealer should take care of this issue for you.
  24. I'll race anyone, in anything, anywhere.....congrats on the kill ! :burnout: :speedie:
