  1. Guessing you mean 'CUTTING'? Unless you mean cute. Do you only get 6 spaces? I like OVRTHE but without a space not really.
  2. I have a 2008, had the PTU replaced early last year and have not had any new problems with it, and it has been cold here. I was told it got the new designed seal etc. I am told by someone in the biz that most dealerships will use their old parts stock even in a situation like this where the old parts are defective because they get paid to fix it once with a defective part and then again and again until it's right. Possibly why there are people that have to have it fixed multiple times.
  3. If you have kids put them to work. Or gather ones in the neighborhood and offer cash. :yup:
  4. How can there be no wiring? The bodyshop should have replaced it when it was repaired.
  5. Wow, the Engrish in this thread is painful to read.
  6. My mom was a kid in the 50's and had that. Made for close neighborhoods. Today neighbors do everything they can to ignore each other. Phone numbers were short, numbers and letters. My grandma had her rented rotary wall phone until she died in 1994. When we figured out she had paid rent on it for all of those years we were floored.
  7. Can I join your 39 club? I am holding on tight to my last days of being 39, even though I turn 29 on my birthday every year LOL. I work with mostly younger people, almost all females. Recently had a chat with one about how I typed book reports on a typewriter for school and she looked at me like I had a disease. Too funny. And how I survived without a cell phone and internet. That I drove a car in high school that had an 8 track and is now considered a collector item. Don't forget Dukes of Hazzard and the other cult shows of our time. I saw the Knightrider TA and the Dukes of Hazzard cars at a museum this summer. Made me feel old. Then this weekend I went to a party where there were kids and they informed me that Loony Tunes and Strawberry Shortcake and Smurfs are coming back. You know it has been awhile when they recycle stuff from our childhood. Yikes!
  8. Not to sound cruel, but I can't help thinking back to an article that was posted on this forum right before the '11 was released. It was about the female engineer who was working on the 2011 Edge at the same time her husband was dying. I am disappointed reading the large number of threads about problems with the new Edge and I hope they are just many different islolated incidents and not many major design flaws. I was so wanting a new one but I am going to wait til 2012 to see if things get a little better.
  9. I have an '08 and have always had some issues with my iPhone and Sync. They are not 100% compatible with the system. The bluetooth streaming is not 100% and I have had it not connect to the phone bluetooth on and off and have had to restart the bluetooth on the phone, and I have also had my iPod attached to the USB stop working and have had to disconnect and reboot the iPod and reconnect. Music streams from the iPhone but you can only use the volume control, not the fast forward/back. On the Ford Sync site there is a compatibility chart for phones and many of the categories for iPhone are unchecked. Guessing a similar chart exists for the My Ford. An Apple product running on a Microsoft product is going to have problems. And I believe what that guy says that Apple would be difficult. My iTunes account was hacked this summer and when I called to handle the problem they acted like I was the only person this happened to and that they had no idea why and were less than helpful, when in reality it has been a widespread problem for a year now, hundreds of thousands of accounts hacked. They wanted to charge me for support time to get my account secured. I had to close my checking account, freeze my paypal account and they froze my iTunes account. When I called to get it unfrozen they again wanted to charge me for their time. Apple handles issues by not handling them.

    Rotors

I would appreciate some info on rotors from those of you that know best. The rotors are for a front wheel drive sedan. What is the best material for them to be coated in? Zinc, nickel, cad? Combination of coatings? The rotors will be very visible, the wheels have a very open design so need to be a material that stays looking good. Slotted, drilled or both? Reading that drilled rotors can crack. Frozen treated steel used for rotors. Any better than the others? SP Performance rotors. I saw them mentioned on the forum. Wondering if they are a good product and how long they have been around, no info on the site except that the site is date stamped 2009. Their Diamond Slotted rotors are really neat looking. Thanks!
  11. You cannot depend on Carfax. That car sounds like it was wrecked. I had an accident in July of 2008 that I reported to the state and in Feb of 2009 it did not show up when I traded it in. My July 2007 accident did but not July 2008. And it is true that a car is never the same after it is wrecked so likely why it was turned in, cutting their losses early.
  12. Go to the iPod on your iPhone and make sure the audio source is set to bluetooth, not speaker.
  13. Isn't that included with your regular service? At least during the warranty period.
  14. Then the math is not right here. ??? How can you put in more fuel than it can hold?
  15. If you google dash kits there are a bunch of places to get different colors and different metals.
  16. I have the Vapor Silver, in certain light the bumpers look different than the paint. When I first went to look at it I accused the dealer of trying to sell me a wrecked car. It is not bad, there are quite a few Edge's the same color around here and I look closely at them and they have the same look to them.
  17. These guys will definitely help you spend your money. Gorgeous!!!!! How about some daylight pictures?
  18. What I have to add is probobly way offbase but I will bring it up. The Blazer I had before the Edge was purchased used. It had 32k on it. The MKX in this thread is an '07 so guessing it has a few miles on it, he did replace the tires. Anyway, soon after getting my Blazer it was pulling so I took it for an alignment. Turns out the actual problem was the hub and bearings in the left front wheel. Once that problem presented itself and I had it fixed it was out of alignment again because they aligned it to drive straight with a defect. So maybe check for a problem hiding in there.
  19. Will these products work on any black plastic? My bumper protector is looking a little dull. It is a hard black textured plastic.
  20. He looks pretty mellow, maybe the cat would be the better bet lol.
  21. I have the weathertechs and I love them. Have to be very careful installing them. The back ones are simple, front take some effort and care. An extra set of hands would not be a bad idea.
  22. Couple other things: Lexus design and styling is old and outdated. Also, accessories and repairs to foreign luxury cars are so expensive.
