Wanted to ask the forum before I have to battle the dealership regarding getting a loaner while my Edge is in for warranty repair. I have always had trouble with my Sync microphone, lo and behold there is a TSB for it so I took it to the dealer in October for an oil change and asked about it. After sitting there for over 2.5 hours they said it needs a new one and that they would order it. I had a day off in December that I planned to drop off the car for the day and get it back later while we did other things. The mic was on backorder. After the holidays I called to see that it was in, let them know I was coming etc. The dealers in IL do not set appointments for repair, it is first come first served. I am told the repair is a minimum of 1.5 hours, not including how long I have to wait for a mechanic to begin on it. The dealer is refusing to get me a loaner, they say that it has to be a repair that is at least a day. I certainly do not have hours to sit there away from work to wait for it. I have talked to two different people about it and before I go further wanted to know if anyone here works for a dealer and if they are b-s'ing me. Do I go back to the service manager or to the dealership manager? This dealer is the most convenient for me. Thanks.
