  1. Got the deal done this afternoon and the Edge is gone. I am really going to miss it but the C-Max has an equally impressive ride and handling set up and a lot more room upfront than I would have thought. Driving it from the dealer to dinner and then home, I got 41 MPG! Ford has an incredible $8007.00 rebate on the Energi models (plug in) plus I qualified for an additional $750.00 for competitive lease conquest. I got a very good deal and am very happy with it. I am also receiving a hefty check back from Ford Credit because of the built up equity in the Edge. I had traded a 10 year old F150 in on it back in 2012 and had no other money down on it then. I'll still be checking the boards, and have some items here at home I'll be posting for sale soon. Good luck to everyone
  2. Went to only one other dealership. The first one I stopped at informed me that only certain dealerships are licensed by Ford to sell the C-Max Energi plug in vehicles. This is due to the special equipment and training needed to work on them, and the charging station that is also needed. The other one I stopped at did have the license to sell them. His residual and interest rate was the same as the first dealer. Only difference was the selling price which was reflected in the different lease payments. I'll find out tomorrow for sure about the GAP insurance and what fee is built in for that. My insurance company can provide the same coverage for something like $20.00 or so.
  3. I am interested in a lease on a 2015 Ford and talked to one dealer yesterday. He worked up some figures and we are about $30.00 a month away from where we want to be. I tried finding information about the Ford Red Carpet Lease program, such as residual values, money factors, fees, etc. The only thing I found is that just like a purchase, Ford Credit approves the customer but the dealer can set their own interest rate. Ford might approve a 1.99 percent, but the dealer may tell the customer 4.99, and then the negotiating begins. The residual seemed low, and the money factor seemed high. This will be a 24 month, 10500 miles a year lease. I will be visiting at least one and maybe two other dealers today to compare prices and terms. The dealer also said that Gap Insurance is a part of the lease at no extra charge. Either the fees for it are built in somewhere, or it really is a free bonus. I am selling my 2013 Edge Limited, and replacing it with a Ford C-Max Energi. I had NO issues with the Edge and it has been a great car. Just getting a few things in order now for when my wife retires later this year!
  4. Read reply's 4,5, and 6 on the following link. I had asked about the new wheels from a 2015 and this is what I found out. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/15678-2015-edge-dealer-source-book-mostly-all-questions-answered-with-this/?hl=wheels&do=findComment&comment=119177 Of course this was all speculation, so actually trying to fit it on would be the definitive answer.
  5. I think the 2015 wheels are a new bolt pattern or other change that will not fit on the previous 2014 or older models. I believe it had been posted on the forum perhaps under the wheels and tires section. If not there, than under the 2015 discussion, perhaps a month or two ago?
  6. I replied in the other post where you had posted this information also. Had a few suggestions there you can try, but really only guessing right now.
  7. Sorry to hear the sensor didn't help you out. So the new ambient sensor isn't showing the correct temp? Just for something to try, check your battery cables to make sure they are tight and not corroded. You might also try unhooking the battery for a few minutes to see if anything resets. Almost sounds like a bad ground somewhere? I don't have my service manual C/D here so I can't look up any wire schmatics to see if there is something common that could cause this. You might even start to suspect the head unit for the HVAC system, but I really don't know.
  8. Thanks for the follow up and let us know if the new one solves the problem.
  9. I just looked up the manual for a 2013 Edge. The power steering fluid shows to use Mercon LV, with Ford part number and spec XT-10-QLV. Completely different than what your posted information shows. Has to be year specific I would think. Page 349 on the following link http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/catalog/owner_guides/13edgom4e.pdf Just make sure you are using a manual for your year vehicle and like mentioned, I would use the latest revision of that year.
  10. Welcome! I love the"aggressive" look of the black grill with the white body color. My 2013 Limited is the same body color but with the chrome grill. Just haven't gotten around to changing the look of it yet. I have several mods on my car that I really like. I added the DRL's from Dan at Daytime Brightlites http://www.daytimebrightlites.com/ I also removed the factory prop rod that is used to hold up the hood and added hood struts. A much cleaner look and easier to open and lift the hood. A lot easier to work under the hood also without the prop rod in the way. http://www.redlinetuning.com/product-p/21-11003-02.htm I am sure you will find many other things to do with yours, and almost every thing has had a post made about it. Hope to see you around the boards.
  11. Just took the Edge out for a night time test of my new daytimebrightlites headlights bulbs and for the first time ever I had people flashing me to dim them...on Low beam... They are amazing and a simple plug in install...no splicing or wiring required Sorry, but this tells me there is something wrong with the set up or the bulbs! There is no way you should all of a sudden have people flashing their lights at you because they think you have your high beams on. Perhaps the bulbs you put in do not meet the DOT requirements here in the US? I doubt that Dan would knowingly be selling lights that don't meet specs, but something is going on with these lights if you are being flashed at. Sounds like some road rage may be in your future if these lights have already aggravated the number of people who have found them to be too bright in your limited driving time with them.
  12. You do know there is a separate Tire and Wheel section on the forum where you questions havebeen answered before? You could also do a SEARCH on the forums for "wheels" or "Edge wheels" to find other posts regarding wheels. Biggest concern even if the bolt pattern is the same is the hub opening on your 2008. Ford changed the opening size starting with the 2011 Edge so you have to make sure any wheels you purchase will fit without having to use an adapter.
  13. I thought I had read that the AEM Dry Filter is actually owned by K&N. Just did a quick search and found this posted on Bob Is The Oil Guy. http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1981083 The same filters are not used for each application, wet or dry. It sounds like AEM makes a different filter than a K&N wet filter. All kinds of interesting reading on various forums doing a Google search. I'll stick with my Motorcraft FA1884 filter.
  14. There is NO WAY I would have my car parked outside on a dealer lot waiting months for a fuel tank replacement IF I could install even a used one. Sure would be better than parking and walking away from my car and having left it out snow covered and basically forgotten about. I know macbwt said he would never put a used one in, but would that change if it was his car having to be parked? Regardless, here is a link to what is described as a good tank in the Cleveland, Ohio area for $125.00. There are ways of testing it to be sure it is good including a visual check of the weak areas. No connection to the seller, just hoping to help any fellow Edge owner from having to watch his car rot away sitting waiting for a tank. https://cleveland.craigslist.org/pts/4904368140.html
  15. The bumper comes off pretty fast and easy from what those who have removed it say. Not sure if the link I posted has the video showing the removal, but there is one on the forums.
  16. If you are that worried about the drive-shaft, what about the exhaust system? That is looking pretty rusty also. In other words, both are normal. The exhaust system will rust through eventually, but the drive-shaft will remain without getting much worse.
  17. Yes, forgot that the Ford Edge does re-learn the TPMS when they are rotated. However, since they don't give an actual PSI reading, all the re-learn is doing is allowing the sensor to reconnect with the module to "see" that the sensor is now in place and active. It is not re-learning a new tire position for the sensor, since the Edge doesn't display individual tires. There are aftermarket kits that can be installed to show individual tire pressures. Just one of many that a quick Google search found, and this one also displays tire temperature. http://eniyanvalentino.com/premium-cigarette-lighter-tpms-built-in-programvisual-display/
  18. If you tried a SEARCH on the forums you will find many posts about how to paint the grill inserts, how to Plastic Coat the grill inserts, how to wrap film around the grill inserts, and how to remove the bumper in order to remove the grill inserts. Some owner's who did the grill insert removal/mods posted their experiences which is where you can find a lot of useful information. Here is one link to start you off in the right direction hopefully. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/11588-remove-front-bumper-on-2013-edge/
  19. I believe there have been owner's who had a problem with the shift linkage not operating properly. The car would show it was in Park, but the module was still "awake" because it thought it wasn't. Only fix from what I recall was to replace that shift mechanism. Owner's were finding dead batteries until it was replaced. Don't know if this is what was referenced in the quote above for transmission sensor, but I believe so.
  20. Some cars such as our previous Acura MDX did not require the TPMS sensor to be re-synced or re-programmed when the tires were rotated. They automatically updated themselves to the new position on the vehicle after several miles of driving. And yes, they gave the individual tire pressure anytime you wanted to check the readout on the dash. Our Traverse needs to have the tires re-programmed when the tires are rotated in order to give the correct tire pressure for the correct tire position on the car. Used to be able to manually do it via the dashboard on models up until 2011. Now a tool has to be used which can be bought for around $50.00, or the dealer does it when they rotate the tires.
  21. Since the coolant is significantly below the low mark and they claim to have topped this off about 6k ago I requested a pressure test. Basically I just want to rule out a head gasket issue. Should be a quick test. Any radiator shop should do a pressure check for no charge. Or you could borrow the test kit from most major auto repair parts stores by just leaving a deposit for the kit. Had you kept an eye on the coolant level over those 6K miles? It sounds like this is the first time you checked it since they topped it off 6K ago. If it took 6K miles to lower the level instead of quickly loosing it, you may just have a small hose leak, clamp leak, etc.
  22. The temp remaining at the 46 degree mark or around there would suggest a bad sensor. I don't know the exact location, but it should be near the front of the car under the hood. May be near the A/C condenser. Part 12A647 in this schematic for a 2013 Edge. Should be a simple plug and play replacement part. Price was shown for around $13.00 from this parts supplier. http://www.fordparts.com/Commerce/CatalogResults.aspx?y=2013&m=Ford&mo=Edge# I don't know if the sensor reading wrong would affect your fan speed if your auto climate is on. Have you tried running the fan with the auto settings off?
  23. Thanks. I have also sent a message to Ford Service and am waiting to hear from them. Over the years, any time they have "updated" the sites, in my opinion they have made them worse and non-user friendly. I had a big hassle several years ago when somehow the user names and passwords got mingled between the Owner Site, Sync My Ride, and the Ford Credit Site. I had to reach out to one of the service reps here who helped me get back on line. Hopefully it is just a temporary situation.
  24. I have always recorded any service or maintenance work done to my Edge using the Ford Owner website. Pretty good place to record miles, date, type of work, type of parts used, part numbers, and where the work was done if not myself, and the cost of the work. I have used that site since owning a 2003 F150 new, and then also using it when I purchased my 2013 Edge. Over the years, the website has changed, and never for the good in my opinion. Numerous times I have had to reopen my account, change my password, combine websites or separate websites (Ford Credit), etc. I just went to the site to see when my last oil change was even though I change it every 5000 miles. I have had the Edge parked for most of the winter, and I wanted to see the date I did it last. Well guess what? MY RECORDS ARE NO LONGER THERE! ONLY THE RECORDS OF ANY WORK DONE AT A DEALERSHIP ARE THERE NOW! My ENTRIES ARE GONE! That means that all the entries of when I did my oil changes, rotated my tires, changed the air filter or the cabin filter, etc are gone! I am missing every entry I made! No notice from Ford that they were changing the site or eliminating personally entered records! What is going on?
  25. I never even looked to see where you were from. That is unfortunate because it is a useful app.
