Just curious if after they worked on your sunroof numerous times, what kind of job they did this time? Do things appear better aligned and the roof sitting how it is supposed to? I would think and hope that with documented faulty repair work, Ford would have accepted the fact that the dealership was probable at fault and should have OK-ed the repair under warranty. Just my opinion but I have to agree with you based on what you said and posted.

BLIS notification LED dims?
ls973800 replied to omar302's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
The BLIS indicators in the outside mirrors are never hard to see on mine during the day or night. They are not too bright at night that I have ever noticed. Daytime has never been too dim. Even though you are switching the light switch and the instrument panel dims, the manual says the sun sensor has to detect darkness. Have you tried covering the sensor when you do the manual headlight switch maneuvering? -
Puddle Lights
ls973800 replied to tangelo2007's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Have you tried a search? There have been posts in the past that included pictures showing how to take the lens off the fixture. It does not just pop off, you have to cut it off or heat it up and pull it off. -
Unless someone has installed that particular specific alarm, I don't know how anyone would be able to tell you exactly how to do it. I did a quick Google search and found that that particular model (487) has been discontinued. I could not find any install instructions for it. You may try contacting some of the sellers of this brand and see if they can help you. However, with the electronics in today's cars, I think you would be better off with a Ford alarm and remote start kit. They are pretty much plug and play, with the exception of maybe needing the dealer to do something with the VIN and the module to have it work. I know there are some sellers of the kit that will do the pre-programming so you don't have to visit the dealer. You can check in the Vendor section on the forum where there is a Ford dealership parts seller. Benny sells at employee cost so you can check with him. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/forum/56-levittown-ford-super-center/

Interesting Equinox feature I'd like to see on the Edge
ls973800 replied to PrinzII's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
I recall this topic coming up earlier at some point. I tried then doing what was shown in the video on my 2013 Limited to no avail. It didn't work on mine with a build date of June 2012. Perhaps it may have been added later, such as the light that comes on when the headlights are on. That was a feature added later on the 2013's I believe. Mine gives no indication of the headlights being on ( such as when the wipers are on) other then at night and the dash lights are on. -
Can't blame you at all after reading about your mechanical issues. My 2013 FWD Edge with 40000 miles has been great with NO visits back to the dealer for any work other than oil changes. Just the luck of the draw I guess. Wasn't too long ago that Kia and Hyundai were on the bottom of the pecking order, and held no value after a few years. They have really put together a strategy which has resulted in better cars with reliability and features that were lacking in the past. I see more and more of them on the road and there are some nice looking ones. Good luck with your new one and I wish all goes well this time.

You got me curious enough that I just checked the spare tire in my 2013 Limited. I purchased it new with the 20" wheel and tire option, and know that the spare has never been exchanged or even taken out of the vehicle. BIG DIFFERENCE between the two sizes used as shown! NOTE- I have a FWD model, not an AWD. Don't know if those spare sizes would be different. Factory tire size is 245 50 20 Spare tire size is 165 80 17 The first number is the factory 20 inch tire, the second number is the factory 17 inch spare tire as shown on a tire size calculator site. Tire diameter 29.6 inch 27.4 inch Sidewall height 4.8 inch 5.2 inch Rolling circum. 93.1 inch 86.1 inch Revs/Mile 680 736 Ride height difference -1.13 inch Rolling circumference difference -7.6 % Speedometer difference +8.2 % Speedometer reading at 60 mp/h 64.9 mp/h

Dash warning lights won't turn off.

First make sure the battery is fully charged and in good condition. -
Been waiting over nine months for someone to correct me!

I have been driving with the BLIS system now for about 28 months in my 2013 Edge. I have never found a need, or even thought about, having any type of audio beep along with the light on the outside mirror. Normal driving habits are that you would be checking your mirrors anyhow when you are making a lane change. I have always seen if the light was showing a car in the blind spot and that alone has prevented close calls or even perhaps an accident. You may not always use your signal when changing lanes for one reason or another (as the majority of Texas drivers don't) and in those circumstances an audio warning would be useless since it would only come on with the use of a turn signal. If you are waiting to turn left from the turn lane with your turn signal on, you would be getting the warning audio alert every time a car passed on the right, or if it was stopped in that lane in your blind spot area. I have been very pleased with the way the system works and would not want an audio alert at all. I don't believe it is needed, and actually think you would disable it very quickly. Remember, just because cars can be and are equipped with advanced safety features and benefits, it is still up to the driver to use fundamental driving skills to remain a safe driver. That includes checking your mirrors while driving even if you are just driving straight, to be aware of what is happening around you.

Still under the factory warranty if less than 36 months or 36000 miles from the original in service date. Sounds like an actuator or blend door problem perhaps. A fuse would not cause what you are describing.

Many people who do not have the drain plug blocked still have the moldy smell from the system. This is because bacteria has grown on the evaporator coils themselves because of the high humidity in that area. Google "Moldy Smell Ford A/C" and read various ways to try and get rid of the smell. They range from making sure the drain ture is open, spraying a cleaner onto the coils, running the heat to burn off the mold, running the vents without A/C for several minutes before shutting off the car, etc. Plenty of suggestions, you will just have to find one that works for you. Some F150 owners did have their evaporator coil replaced because the dealership found a leak in the coil itself, but most of those resulted in an oily smell because of the A/C oil leaking out.

Best thing to do is have the dealership put you or your friends name into their system (I forget exactly what it is called, maybe GEM?). It will show every incentive that is available to you from Ford. When I bought my Edge I didn't have one of those $750.00 coupons that you can get by requesting brochures that Ford occasionally includes. However, the dealership did see that I was in the Ford system as being eligible for that $750.00, even without the coupon. Might be too late, but there is a post on the forum about the coupon being available now in some brochures that you request. Those usually take several weeks to be mailed to you, so your best bet is to contact the dealer. Good luck and let us know what you find out.

Trying Lysol to kill stink before the stink kills me
ls973800 replied to normcloutier's topic in Lounge
The F150 boards have plenty of complaints also about the smell from the A/C. Numerous fixes tried, not too many very successful in the long run. A few dealers have exchanged the condenser. They found that the old ones had leaks in them which allowed the water to pool and become moldy. The result was the moldy smell. Not many dealers are willing to do that step unless the owner has had numerous complaints and nothing had helped. -
Welcome to the club! Use the search button to look for "phone holder" in Forums. There is a good post with different ideas and suggestions. There are also posts in the Audio forum that should give you some ideas of what is or isn't possible for the head unit.

Thought I had posted this here also after seeing the other post on the Welcome Forum regarding the same issue by the same person. Very common problem over on the F150 forums and even the Explorer forum if I recall. The best way to resolve it has been to disconnect the battery cable for several minutes. For some reason this resets something and the navigation returns to normal. I couldn't find my post by doing a search about it, but I know it is out there. Here are the posts over on one of the F150 forums I follow. http://www.f150forum...r-tires-226274/

I added the aftermarket hood struts to my 2013 Edge and love them! No more scratching the paint under the hood if I miss the reciever with the prop rod the first time, no more having the prop rod in the way when I am working under the hood, and no more hooding the hood up if I am just looking things over under the hood for a minute.

Those videos are very professional and well done. Hope you have success with them.

The video of the Lantern Festival was amazing! Some if not all of those are true pieces of art. My wife and I have seen the Lantern exhibit set up during the Texas State Fair, but this is several levels way above that! Thanks for sharing, I will check out some of the other videos you have posted. Are you involved in the production of these vids, or are you finding them and posting them? Just curious.

Thanks, I'll check and see what the Fusion specs are. Well, so much for that! Found this on a wheel shop resource page. The Edge uses the old 2012 Fusion bolt pattern. Not sure about the hub opening, but the new 2013 bolt pattern will not fit properly Ford has changed the wheel bolt pattern on the new 2013 Ford Fusion. Up through 2012 Ford Fusions were 5x4.5" or 5x114.3mm. The new bolt pattern is 5x4.25" or 5x108mm.
