    Trip To Italy

you HAVE to go... you'll regret it. just explain it as once in a lifetime and if she says no then make it worth her while. the only reason I can wives saying no is they don't get to go, or have any "fun" during your enjoyment. but if you make it fun for them while you're gone, give a nice spa treatment / retreat and give her some girls night out, and bring her back a nice gift (italian leather ahhh) then what's the problem? also in my experience the sooner you present it, the better always works for me
  2. yeah I don't mind the flip daily but I'm sure some people might so this is a good suggestion, I see a lot of cars (especially luxury cars like Mercedes) with this problem on the roads to work almost daily. and I've driven others that do it, so it's not just Ford. luckily I only hit one or two underpasses... or 0 if I go a little different way
  3. for the record, mine will spell out Life On 'D' Edge whenever I get them. they should arrive in a week or two. can't wait
  4. very cool :shades: I thought B.C. had different plates now... not that I have seen a lot in my day. is my mind deceiving? when I was a kid anytime I would see plates that said B.C. (for Baja California) I always thought it meant British Colombia. little did I know as for my state personally I like the old yellow on black and late 80's "sunset" style name better than the current script. I wish you could special order either one.
  5. ya unfortunately I found that thread after the fact guess I should delete this one hmmmm d'oh
  6. (old thread revival) wow that's just ugly. if you're gonna put all that work into a paint scheme, at least paint more than 1/3rd of the car. they should have done the purple all the way behind the doors, then the tail section red. the problem is it's a factory red!! it needs to be a deeper metallic red that will go along with what they were trying to do up front. not something that makes people say "wow ran outta paint huh" or "why'd you ruin a perfectly good red car" I always laugh when dealers try to customize new vehicles and do a really poor job. yikes glad I saved my 30 grand for my Edge
  7. my gf wanted to buy a new 2008 Highlander. then she said, hey I think I'll buy that Hybrid version, since they offer it and gas prices are killer. then I did the math, even on 15,000 miles a year at $3.50 a gallon and with good financing (I think I assumed 5% which is what she ended up getting), she'd have to have the car 11+ years for it to pay for the extra expense). thanks but no thanks!
  8. so what are the 3 TSB's for?? I think I know of one... not sure
  9. i'm not really sure who would want 's.e.x faeg' on their license plate, but that's just me!
  10. yes that is what I've read too. it basically requires premium or you'll have much reduced performance. Creme will confirm it. as for those talking about the Escape, new drivetrains will be available in 2009 models. I don't know if they're planning to add further refinement through extra noise insulation or anything else. but it should definitely drive better than the current i4 and V6. I think they're also coming up with a newer (3rd gen) hybrid version
  11. I always have the old habit of saying, "we can take mine". tho I guess if I was married they would both technically be mine/ours. so I may have to change that someday. I think "let's take THE EDGE" definitely works!
  12. I think you mean Charcoal, INTERAVE. otherwise right on!! same color combo as me except I went with the painted aluminum 18"s. just don't like chrome that much, especially on a car with painted bumpers. besides I like to be more stealthy
  13. cuz we all know Chelsea was in Afghanistan / Somalia...
  14. Personalized / custom plates... who's got 'em on your Edge / MKX / CX-7 or -9 ? pics or descriptions are appreciated (note if you consider it sensitive info. or worried about ID theft don't have to post a photo just say in words the meaning). even if you have special edition plates from some state but the tags issued are sequential, I'd like to see them or know what you have to spice up your ride. I just ordered my "LIFE ON(IN) DA EDGE" personalized plates. standard blue lettering on white background. but DMV says it will take 8-10 weeks. damn, that's long!! I guess the prisons are busy these days. but worth the $40 over standard issue boring plates IMHO
  15. the Edge and CX9 are both good choices... to OP / maddady, drive both and see what you like better. though the Edge may fit your price range better if you're not wanting too many extras. Murano, ugh no way as for the glare you guys are right on. the silver ring is gone and the black dash replaced Camel, just beware any high shine protective products
  16. I agree, the dealer said 6-8 weeks and if my math is right it was 5 weeks and 5 days for mine to arrive here in So. Cal (just got it). taking pics soon... :shades:
  17. here's one more (good) reason: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?showtopic=2217
  18. yeah no tow... I never tow anything. too bad about the screws. but as long as you're only taking them on or off once or twice a year I guess it's no big deal. enjoy the sunshine :hyper: :shades:

  21. cool... the sport blue sounds nice (nothing against the Dark Ink just not my preference on this car). I actually like midnight blue usually. it was on my first car which I have a soft spot for, an '89 Escort GT.
  22. damn how do I get my gf to detail my Edge like that? :shades: always seems like I'm the one having to do all the work. I asked her if she wanted me to do a light detail to remove a little dust and add a bit of protection and shine on the dashboard of her brand-new car. her answer "no I don't like the smell of that stuff" LOL oh well I tried I thought the Edge glare was only a huge problem on the "light" colored interiors? i.e. Camel. mine's fine, even better when I wear any shades on sunny days. but definitely stick to the low-gloss protectant, other kinds promote extra glare.
  23. push Camrys and Accords blocking the left lane out of the way, why else kidding, of course... ok half kidding. I assume people want them to protect the front end / painted bumpers, which they are not used to on other vehicles like Explorer etc. even from little things like shopping carts which can do some serious paint damage. and possibility of bigger / auxiliary fog lights maybe? for AWD models and things like winter driving. maybe it does look a bit cooler too, have yet to see one to decide.
