  1. Thank you for your input on your trip. The mileage sounds about right for 4 people and luggage. You did not mention if your edge is all wheel drive.
  2. Welcome, same ride here but 09, just planning a trip from Toronto to New York. I want to see if I can make it on one tank.
  3. Are you sure it's not the car beside you? I was very sensitive to the smell as well but some time it was not me. Every time there is change of smell I would freak out. But when I took my Edge to the dealer they could not find anything.
  4. I would go to a new dealer. Or go back where you had the master cylinder done first, and if they will not follow up the original problem, I would go to new dealer.
  5. Kona Blue Metallic (new to the Edge anyway) Bordeaux Reserve Red Metallic (aka Burgandy) (Is this a totally new color for Ford?) Earth Metallic (Is that kind of a Green Gray?) Mediterranean Blue Metallic (What where they thinking here?) I'm glad Ford is dropping the Sport Blue Metallic but they seem to be making a bigger mistake with Mediterranean Blue Metallic. I'd really like to see the Steel Blue Metallic on the Edge. Kona Blue Metallic should be reserved for the Mustang only. I'll be getting a new Edge around end of 2010 and probably a new Taurus in early 2011. Both my '08 Edge and '08 Fusion are Vapor Silver today which is a nice color but I'm tired of it and also bored with having 2 cars the same color. That further limits my choices since the Edge and Taurus share many of the same colors. Black, White, and Red are always out for me. I really like the Steel Blue Metallic on the 2010 Taurus but it appears they are dropping that as well, damn it. I could probably do Bordeaux Reserve Red Metallic on either the Edge or the Taurus. Do not you think it's personal taste?
  6. I had mine 09 PTU seals changed back in January and I see occasional drop on the driveway. It happens after driving in higher speeds on the highway. I wonder if there is a different dealer I could use here in Mississauga which has good reputation for PTU repairs.
  7. I think I did hear some noise from the roof, when it was -20C here in Canada, but it's not a big deal to me. It gos away in warmer weather and it's almost unnoticeable when you close the roof skirt. Main thing for me is that the moon roof doesn't leak.
  8. What is multiple displacement ?
  9. I live in Mississauga and I'm interested, how much you want for them ...
  10. My guess is bearing. Had similar problem with my Freestar few years back ....
  11. Keep in mind only few will complain and make lot of noise, the large majority, ones who do not have problems are quiet ....
  12. I never heard of this problem. I would let the dealer "deal" with it ....
  13. Did anybody try the map update for 09 and 10 Edges?
  14. After getting the seals repaired in January I still see something leaking on my driveway. I was under the impression that the new redesigned seals will do the job but I ques not. So I will have to go back to the dealer and see what they say. I will keep you all posted.
  15. Where you from and what dealer did you go to?
  16. When you burning DVDs you could select the country code on your computer, just right click my computer go to Device manager and pick your DVD ROM and select your country code .. Hopefully that help
  17. It's hard for me to believe the problems you having with your Edge. There must be more to the story ... I've had Fords since 97 for our business and that's why we picked Ford for long lasting trouble free operation. Sure there was the breaks, U joints and wear and tear stuff but nothing like this. Our Edge is the same thing. We had the PTU repaired in January and that was the only repair we had. We love the way the Edge drive and feel on the road. Before we bought the Edge we test drove the 2010 Equinox. It was nice too but did not have the power and pick up like the Edge. Also it felt squished in the front seat. :shades:
  18. Our 09 AWD had the PTU leak. It only happened in really cold temperatures and after driving on the highway for while and then stopping at traffic lights. Good new is Ford has a fix right now and it seems to be working. We had our done in January and since then we have no problems. I talk to the mechanic and he sad, the new seals are made of new materials which are not affected by temperature. That means there is no shrinking or expending process with temperature change. If you find some drops on your driveway or smell burning oil just make appointment and they will fix it.

  20. We had our 09 AWD done in January with the upgraded seals and no problem since. It dripped only after driving on the highway in the cold temp. I notice spots on the driveway and sometime the smell at the stop lights. It seems to me the new seals are doing the trick.
  21. I'm shocked you have to wait for parts that long. When I had mine 09 done they had the parts in same day and car was fixed the next day. Maybe it is because they build the edge here in Ontario. After they changed the seals there is no more smell or dripping on the driveway. Mine was done in January with the new seals and everything seems to be OK.
  22. It would be smart to change all the seals in the PTU area, once they have the PTU apart? Does anybody know if that's the case? Would make sense if there is repeated problem from this area ....
