I've had mine done roughly 3 weeks ago and so far no problem. I think the pinkish fluid is not PTU fluid. Please keep us posted....

The AWD Edge is the best car to handle snow and ice. We live in Canada and we drive in the snow every day right now. I never had slip or problem stopping with this car, I think a chains are little overkill.

Also I notice only burning with iTunes the radio recognize original artist and album.

I had similar problem with burned CDs, but after manually renaming the artists and albums the sync did recognise that. Be careful not to have similar names for the albums and artists, what I had to do is add "The" to the name, for example instead of just Beatles and Eagles I made one of them "The Beatles" and that seemed to work good. I hope this help.

Seals replaced 2 weeks ago and no leak or smell part# 8T4Z7275 CC, $32.28. I think these are the latest redesigned seals, 09 LTD AWD. :happy feet:

My guess is, fuse contacts for that circuit ...

:happy feet: After driving this weekend in -10 temperature I did not notice any smell of the leaking PTU seals. I did mostly highway driving and stop and go in the city. That is the perfect condition if the seals were supposed to leak, but nothing. I hoping this is it, this is the fix for the long going problem with the PTU. Now question is, is it going to last for years? Time will tell but so far good job Ford....

Never heard of it. Maybe it's been sitting for while and some condensation got in the tank.

Here in Mississauga, Ontario, had the parts in stack no wait for back order. Maybe it's becouse they make the Ege down the street in Oakville.

Mine had "CC" at the end, that's weird. Maybe it means front or back ...

It's been 3 days without the smell...now the temperature dropped to -4 and still no smell. Would that mean that Ford found the right fix for the leaking PTUs? Still too early to celebrate I guess. This weekend suppose to be even colder so I will comment next week...

I got mine back today as well, my 09 had occasional leak. The bill sad $32.00 for the seals.

I took my 09 on Thursday and updated seals were installed on Friday. I would go to another dealer if you have to wait so long....

I just got my done last Thursday on my 09 LTD and the mechanic told me it has something the do with temperature. There is no problem with them in the summer. The new seals are out for 3 weeks and there has been no returns so far. We will see when it gets really cold, it's been worm lately.

So what is the verdict on the latest PTU seals? Mine 09 is going for check on Thursday.

I never had 1 problem with my F-150 trucks in my business. The Edge is great car and drive really nice, I do have occasionally PTU drip and that's being corrected on Thursday. I'm very impress with Ford how they handle problems. My brother in law had to replace the engine on his 2005 Camry with only 125k miles, which he had to pay from his packet. If you google any of the big auto makers you will find some people have problems even with luxury vehicles.

After you got your car back did you notice any smell or anything different?? I'm going for my "analysis" next Thursday...

:wacko: Ye, our 09 Edge was built June 08, so it might have had the old seals installed. I only noticed the smell maybe 5 times this winter so far and only being at stop light. Also it only happens after driving on the highway for wile in higher speed. I do not see any leaks on the driveway. Hopefully they have the fix for it now... Time will tell

:wacko: I just told the dealer that I smell burning on occasion on my 09 LTD AWD, and they sad to make a appointment next week to check it out. Also they sad the PTU seals are different in 09 from 08. I think I will wait few weeks and see what the new engineered seals are like. But I was surprised that the seals from 08 to 09 are different.

Gary, sounds like you were born with silver spoon in your mouth. Big deal you had to drive in the cold for a month. Sh.t happens, people trying to help you best they can. I don't know what world you living in but it's not perfect....Stop complaining, life too short.

Would anybody know which dealership is good to fix the PTU leak here in Mississauga or west Toronto? I think my 09 LTD is occasionally dripping on the muffler..

Do you know when Ford changed the supplier, just wonder if my 09 Edge would be with the new supplier or not....

Any news on the hard drive version update (09 Edge)?? The one installed is old.

Did you have any problems with the PTU? I think my 09 is occasionally dripping on the muffler. Some time we smell burning, but not sure if it's from the cars passing by. This site got me all paranoid, so everytime we smell something we think it's the PTU.

Same here love our 09 Edge AWD LTD, we have 29000km and no problems. It aws said here before, the ones with problem make more noice then the ones with no problem......
