  1. Shaving off the "Edge, SEL, Limited and AWD" emblems? Yes, just simple heat them up with a hairdryer or wait for a hot summer day and use a piece of fishing wire to work back and forth behind the emblem. Use goo gone to remove the excess double sided tape left over from the emblem. Here is a video.
  2. Thanks!!! That is the thread I have been looking for!! And if I can ask you an opinionated question - how do you think the billet grille would look if i attached some painted Ford letters(think 1976 e-series van hood) to it?? Well if you're asking for my opinion im going to say I am not a fan of the billet grille at all. I do wish there was some way to remove the logo and just have the three bar grille. I do like the idea of having some classic letters on it. Something like the Ford Flex has below.
  3. Here is a thread where Lex posts about the removal of the rear emblem. Once it's removed you're going to have to fill the holes and repaint the hatch if you don't intend to replace it with something. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/4399-removal-ford-symbol-on-hatch/page__p__34526__hl__emblem%20removal__fromsearch__1&&do=findComment&comment=34526 As far as the front logo you're going to have to remove the bumper and then you should have no problem removing the logo from the grill. You could always replace the front OEM grille with a billet grille seen bellow if you don't want a logo.
  4. When I do put my head against the headrest (which is maybe 5% of time) it is against the middle of the headrest. I guess I don't have an issue with it because I usually don't position my head all the way back.
  5. I'm 6'2" and my gf is 5'8 and we both find them very comfortable. Even more so than the Recaro seats in my previous car.
  6. Who said the pedal travel isnt getting worse? The Ford Edge uses a drum for the parking brake only so that's FALSE. A warped rotor would cause vibration at speeds but not allow the brake pedal to reach the floor so WRONG again. One brake piston retracting more would not cause the brake pedal to reach the floor either. I've seen cars with frozen pistons and the pedal still had the same travel distance.
  7. WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT!!! Did you just say that summer tires and just as good as winter tires in the snow and ice? You are a bigger idiot than had originally thought. Do you EVER have anything positive to say? Better yet, do you ever give CORRECT information?
  8. I'm going to bump this older thread to share my distaste towards WeatherTech. Here is the email I just sent them. "This will be my 5th attempt at contacting you. Three emails and one phone call where I sat on hold for 20 mins. I read your customer service was horrible but this is ridiculous. I ordered my mats on the 10th of January> Today is the 29th and my mats still have not shipped. Could I get an update as to when they will ship? Will I have them before the New Year? THANKS!!" I know few of you have WeatherTech Mats. On their site it says... Please allow 3 to 7 business days for manufacturing and up to 5 business days for FedEx ground shipping (unless you chose express shipping) to deliver your package to your door from our Kansas manufacturing facility. Well it's been 2-3 times the manufacturing time now. The order status shows up as "In Process" but they haven't shipped yet. Anyone else had these issues?
  9. Paints and clear coats are much more advanced then they used to be. My 98 Jeep didn't start showing rust until 2 years ago and it spent a few Chicago winters not garaged. As far as leather it has already been treated from the factory and there is not much you can do about rips and tears. I've used Scotchgard for years on carpets and floor mats. Only $10 a can. Anyway you look at it the $799 is a waste of money but if it gives you that extra piece of mind then so be it.
  10. So are you saying every Ford has the same dipstick shaft? How are Fords shafts different from those of other manufacturers?
  11. Only in some states (like Illinois). In some areas they actually promote use such as Lake Tahoe. There is even areas in Canada where I believe they are required.
  12. Don't know much about an oil change valve but I've heard great things about Pela Oil Extractors and have been thinking about purchasing one.
  13. Our guess is it was while he was digging in grampa's yard or from walks. He hadn't been to a kennel or a dog park. The doc told us it comes from the soil. Supposedly he is on the meds until his xrays come up clean. We are going to take him in next month for another look see.
  14. Harley contracted blastomycosis and nearly died about 8 months ago. Unfortunately he lost sight in his right eye. He is still medicated daily.
  15. Please read the quote below. The OP did NOT have a bulb that was out. Every time I had a turn signal start blinking faster (at least 10 different times) it was because the bulb was about to burn out. I simply just replaced the turn signal bulb that was blinking faster (not burnt out) and the problem was solved.
  16. Sounds like he doesn't know what he's talking about. You can put studded tires on ANY car, truck, or crossover.
  17. To the OP. Change the bulb that's blinking fast and post up if the fast blinking goes away. I'm not going to argue my point when I've dealt with the same issue with just about every car I've owned. I'd say a bulb change will solve the problem 9 out of 10 times. Like others have said a relay or a short would be the next place to look.
  18. Sorry to say but that paint/leather protection is a big waste of money. Is this the one where they "claim" you don't have to wax your car for 5 years? <--hahaha I've even heard people get this thrown in for free.
  19. Yeah, I wasn't being funny. When there is less of a load on a signal flasher, it will cycle faster. That is why he is getting a fast blinker. Just change the bulb.
  20. Mu guess is he doesn't have an extended warranty and he is over the 3yr/36k manufacturers?
  21. Congrats!! The wait for mine was two months so the end of March sounds about right. :hyper:
  22. Studded tires are ok on AWD cars but I hope you understand that they require LONGER stopping distances on dry and wet pavement. My recommendation is to get yourself a dedicated set of winter tires ...(ie Blizzaks or Wintersport 3D's) unless you plan on mainly driving on ice. Winter tire > A/S tire in winter conditions.
  23. If you placed an order you won't have a VIN number on your bill of sale. Your salesman will have access to that information and should be able to give that to you when it becomes available. You should have negotiated your final price before incentives though and if you didn't you will probably get a better deal on a car sitting on a lot.
  24. The fast blinking usually occurs when a bulb is about to burn out. Just replace that bulb and everything will be back to normal.
  25. Follow this video. I have washed many engine bay's using the same technique and never had a problem.
