  1. I'm excited to see better gas mileage. Both my s4 and Cherokee were 14-15mpg in mixed driving.
  2. So I did some research of my own and it looks like 285/35/22 is the wheel size most use. I shouldn't have an issue being lowered either. Now to decide if im going to keep the stock 20's or sell them.
  3. I have just come across a set of wheels for a great price. The distributor says they'll fit but I thought I'd ask the experts first. Wheel is.. 22x10 Offset: 40mm Backspacing: 7.08" Bolt Pattern: 5-114 Recommended tire size is 265/35/22 Questions... The Edge Sport has 265/40/22's Shouldn't this be the size i should get even though the aftermarket wheel is wider? Will these wheels (in either tire size) rub? Will they rub if I chose to lower with H&R springs? (1.75" in front and 1.5" rear) Also what is the weight of the stock Edge 20" clad wheel? TIA
  4. That wouldnt be the first demo car with a scratch on it. Demo's are obviously ridden hard. I'd stay away from those and fleet cars. Before I ordered my 2010 I called a local dealer that had a left over 09 and was told that the sales managers wife was currently driving it but if I scheduled a time to come in they'd "try" to have the car there for me to look at. HAHA!
  5. Sounds like a deal to me. The wheel and tire combos I've looked at are around 2k. Those wheels really give your car an OEM+ look.
  6. They look great! Fit the body style perfectly. I'm guessing you got a deal on them.
  7. Here are the wheels H&R put on their Edge. 20x10 OZ Giotti's with 295/30/22 tire. Steeda is selling these 22 x 9.5 Diamo 39 Karat Wheel's. Unfortunately it looks like there are not a lot of wheel choices unless you go with a custom wheel which means they're going to be pricey.
  8. I've been on cardomain and I didn't find anyone with a "tasteful" wheel. The sport 22's do look good but I'd like to see them on a limited.
  9. I think the 24's would be a little too much but that's up to you. I'd like to see some nice black or silver 22" wheels. I haven't come across anything that looks good besides the stock 20's.
  10. Congrats! I bet you got one heck of a deal on it. I was looking around for an 09 myself but had to settle for a 2010 when I couldn't find one in the color and options I was looking to get.
  11. I have, my father has, and a friend of mine has... Pontiac Formula, Mitsu 3000GT, Cadillac sedan Deville. Just because it hasn't happened to you doesn't mean it doesn't happen. This is my last response in this thread. I can't believe the negativity and closed-minded people in here.
  12. It is more so a matter of opinion. I have zero experience with Ford's chrome clad but I do have experience with real chrome, polished, GM chrome clad, and Chrysler chrome clad. IMO aesthetic issues are not as bad as corrosion which may lead to air pressure loss. You might want corroding metal over peeling plastic. That's fine. I just think the plastic is the lessor of the two evils. IMO Ford needs to find an alternative so buyers don't need to deal with either. Chances are I too will be changing them out in the future for a wheel more suitable to my taste.
  13. Funny I was just thinking... what's with the condescending Edge owners? I had to double check my URL because I thought I might have typed in BimmerForums.com instead.
  14. Try the google search function wheel noob. chrome+wheels+peeling
  15. Why dont you go buy them now so I can stop not reading your posts about peeling clad wheels and start reading your posts about corroding chrome wheels that constantly lose air pressure. I'm looking forward to them.
  16. So buy yourself some chrome wheels then. Both points are valid so is there really a need to argue about whether real chrome or clad chrome is worse? Get over it.
  17. My last post was not responding to you so no I did not miss your post. I'd rather have aesthetic damage then having to worry about loss in tire pressure and blow outs.
  18. I had Contisport Contact 2's on my s4 and the thread wear was horrible. Not sure about their other models but i've always had great luck with Michelin's.
  19. I don't see how it's crazy when corrosion on the inside of the wheel from the chrome could cause a poor seal and lead to loss in air pressure and flat tires. Also if you live where there is snow there will be a greater chance that the salt used on the roads will cause premature pitting and corrosion on a chrome wheel. I guess facts are crazy.
