  1. Not only will I let you know the VIN, I will let you know when I am getting it ready to turn it back in!
  2. That's very true! Ididnt hesitate as you said, I am tired of black at this point for my interior. My wife had a MKX last winter with the ligh interior and I have to say that it really "dressed up" the vehicle, very "classy". I also noticed that the flooring carpeting was black...I don't know if that will be true on the edge, but I can see the reasoning behind that choice mad by ford to hide the dirt from feet. Seeing as though these things are delayed this long, I may have to turn in this vehicle within months of getting it and order another 2016 vehicle. Ford keeps us current as far as model year is concerned. This too was a reason why I ordere the ceramic interior....I keep 'me maybe 12 to 14 months before I have to return it and get something else according to the Ford Incremental Lease program that I am on. Yea I know that sucks right? Having to always turn in my almost a year old vehicle for a new one... I will definitely post regarding how the interior holds up though as I go through the summer with kids, dogs, dirt roads, horse farms etc. when I was in the car business we had several "cognac" type interiors and each and every one had a little different pigmentation to it. I think that the leather is brown, it seems like it is difficult to get the EXACT color match. At least that was the way it used to be about 10 years ago. We ordered a "cognac" leather interior on a vehicle and when it showed up at the dealership, the inside was the color of a leather basketball! God awful....but someone liked it and bought it. Hey for what these cars cost now, if you like it, buy it! I will never say that it is terrible, just not for me and my eye.
  3. Unfortuneately, as you know, it seems as they make more money and profit, the stock price for some reason ALWAYS takes a hit right after positive numbers are released.....but it am sure that GM and its price of more than double is worth every penny....what a sham
  4. i saw that video today as well.....for me personally i would have to drink a couple of bottles of cognac to order that color....maybe in a Rolls or bentley with the right interior trim, i dont think the black interior trim does it anything to "help" the color personally, but hey that is why they make more than one color anyway...someone will buy it, and then have a "shower scene" after they get in their garage and look at it again after the "fun" has worn off...
  5. I found the same articles and video. only the "sport" was apparently available to those Ford sponsored writers. i thought that was interesting when the one reporter mentioned that Ford flew him out there for his review...unbiased i am sure ~ nonetheless, it was nice to atleast see this damn thing "moving" and not sitting on carpeting or a computer generated image and color...did you notice that the Sport they had had the standard 20" inch wheels not the optional 21's"? it had every other option though from what i could tell...i f i were a "real retail customer" i would start to get more than a little upset at this point and might think about waiting now until the 2016 without MFT....just my opinion..
  6. I thought that they were...because I haven't heard anything regarding my edge shopping, I was hoping that someone else had some info concerning their edge....as my edge was pre job 1 unfortuneately I may not see mine for while due to a quality issue or something stupid that had to be worked out before mine would ship...maybe a "hoser" from up north "eh" could sit outside the plant and look for some car carriers on the move with these long awaited buggies.....I send you a Molson for your time and trouble!
  7. I just recieved my license plate renewal sticker from WHQ for my current vehicle which expires in April, I hope that is not a "bad omen" at this point. We do not transfer plates from current vehicle to new vehicle upon arrival the new vehicle already has a plate on it.....I hope I will have this thing before I have to pull the jet ski trailer out of storage......
  8. Anyone have any news recently regarding shipping? Still quiet here regarding management incremental lease vehicle.....
  9. I am sick and tired of the "animated" pics both exterior and interior. Come on ford show us the real deal!
  10. I agree, I would have ordered the sport, but I am a little tired of a "black" interior which is the only interior offered again in the sport. I ordered the titanium with the soft ceramic interior and magnetic metallic. Understanding the "Sport" is a branded model. It you should be able to at least either get a dark interior or a light interior in the vehicle. Do the other "sport" models also offer only black such as the Explorer and the Fusion? Does the Shelby Mustang only have 1 interior as well?
  11. I just received an email earlier today, release by joe hinrichs that edge is now rolling off the line and shipping. I guess that means that they have had 5 previous days of production without any issues. That is great news for all those getting those units that were built during that time frame. If yours was built prior to the last week or so there must be an issue with QC and they will have to resolve that issue prior to releasing the vehicle for shipping.
  12. Totally agree....anyone who "assumes" that the advertised price is the actual price is not playing with a full deck....if it got you in the door the "advertised" price worked...then it is time for the salesman to "sell" you a car not just take an order...that art is gone in my opinion. I used to be in auto sales and have more months than I'd like to remember that I sold over 25 new vehicles and made a commission on each car of $100.00 flat because they were no profit deals on the "front" end. Let's not forget the "back-end" money....for example if you finance a vehicle. Which most of us do, the dealer will get a profit from the financing institution, maybe it is 1/2% or 1% . Sell like that guy above, 30 cars a month, throw the customers into the "box" and Take 1/2 % from each deal and you have a nice month based on just that one salesman. Based on that, do you think that the finance guy is really working hard to get you 1.9% from FMC as opposed to getting you a rebate and getting financed at 3.9%? I hear about so many people "working" the front end price, and not working too hard to get the best financing deal possible. Want to really get your best over all deal...work the front obviously, and get 0% financing...if you have to pay it off in 2 or 3 years to get the 0% so be it.
  13. Profit is not a dirty word! Do you try and beat down a price at Walmart? Wow....$700 on $40,000......I hope that dealer still has is first communion money buried in his backyard to survive on. Don't get me wrong, try and make you best deal, but at a certain point it gets ridiculous to me that people are concerned with "holdback and doc fees". How about the dealer principle who had commit hundreds of thousands of dollars or even millions to get his dealership and remain in good standing. Do you think that ford pays for all the dealers to renovate onto the current ford dealership model? Ford helps for sure, but not 100%. I am in sales, and based on the $700 figure you mentioned in profit on a $40,000 vehicle commutes to 1.75% profit....I cannot make a living on that margin, imagine paying all the employees salaries and shop supplies and utilities of the dealership if he made that margin consistently.
  14. Placing an "order" and actually getting product are two different things at this point....many other dealers are "ordering" as well and like my dad always said...."there is always someone else bigger than you". Certainly not to be negative, but realistic....did you give them a deposit? If so, I would also tell you the same thing....we are the biggest and the factory gives "our" orders preference...blah, blah, blah...I have heard and experienced with ford canceling my orders vehicle, that a "Retail order or customer ordered" vehicle will get expedited before dealer inventory whenever possible. Does anyone know this to be true? I had previously ordere a Taurus SHO as my incremental lease, and it got cancelled as "to many retail unit orders" and ford had to accommodate those first. I am part of the Ford Management Incremental Lease program...i would think that units that are "Already sold" before production would in fact get priority if at all possible. However, when dealing with thousands of vehicles, I would think that sometimes it happens to be "luck of the draw" after Job 1 is up and running.
  15. It is hard for me to tell but are the 20" sport standard rims just like the current 22" except smaller? I prefer those to the "blacked out" wheels. Just an FYI, I had my edge sport while I lived in cleveland on the east side in the "snowbelt". Everyone kept telling me that the 22 pirelli's would suck in the snow. I was shocked how well they held up. We have potholes in Cleveland that are really nasty every year, and as long as you were cautious I never had a problem with the rims.
  16. I can't imagine ford getting rid of a color after what will amount to be about 4 months of availability....I agree about the 2016 vs 2015 sync generations and waiting. I unfortuneately or fortunately, depends how you look at it, had to order a model year 2015. If ford stays true to its recent history with the incremental lease program that I take am in, I will probably be able to order another vehicle sometime in May/June. I am no automotive body repair guy, but I would figure that if that electric spice ever needs paintwork, you better have the best shop that money can buy to paint it. Probably have to paint the entire car to get the color to match.....
  17. That would be great news for you with the OK to Buy. Not good news for me. My titanium was built on January 27. Probably buried in the holding lot with several thousand edges ahead of it for quality checks...I still have no word as far as shipping is concerned.. Same thing happened with my 2011 sport...built March and I didn't take delivery until October.....
  18. Ok so I am getting very "antsy" at this point...so I went online to see if by chance I could at least see my window sticker as my edge was built the last week of January. So here is a website that I found that showed me my "actual" window sticker. I know it is the "actual" one because it even has my wife's name and "tag" number that she gets from ford. All of our vehicles are "made to order" wi her name actually on the window sticker. Here is the web site for anyone who may already have a VIN Numbet. I know it doesn't help the feeling of helplessness while waiting for our new sleds, but maybe you can print it off and sleep with it under your pillow Researchmaniacs.com/VIN-Number-lookup/window sticker/Ford.html I hope this helps. As of now, I have had NO UPDATE at all regarding OK to Ship or transportation of my vehicle from Oakville. Once I do I will post the info. Hang in there guys, summer is coming and you will look good in your new edge hopefully before we start to take those leaves
  19. Just an update.....I recieved an email from ford internal email, that my edge titanium was built on Feb 2....,I still have not heard anything else regarding shipping, just thought I would let everyone know that at least my edge is no news yet....
  20. On the way to fla in Georgia doing 84 mph and almost fell out of the car laughing
  21. I see that Donovan is a "fleet management company" heck they are a hertz company which probably acquires the vehicles for heartz and leases them back to the hertz car rental. Fleets to my knowledge are totally different. The SE may be delayed for "fleet" purchase. It is the base model, low margins, allegedly, and maybe as a fleet buy which is discounted they have been pushed back a few weeks. If truly the SE is delayed, it must be a defect in something that is only on the SE model, like black door handles or something. The engine is the same. other components to my knowledge should be as well, but who knows. Maybe a lower cost supplier was used to keep costs down in this model. I went to the link on your post, and looked at the graph, after looking at the graph, I am sure this relates to "donlan's fleet specifically" not necessarily the world.
  22. Get the checkbook out....the 20's are not cheap, the 22's either...a full set of either is about 3 times the cost of my first car!!,
  23. Agreed...somewhat subjective...I think in nada books, that an add on value for low mileage is less than that of a model year newer. Mileage add-ons might be up to 2000 more max... All that being said...it still comes down to this......"what is the vehicle worth......whatever the customer is willing to pay for it, no more no less" Remember the test of putting a dead pig into a brand new nice car, a caddy or vette or something and sealing it up airtight for a couple months and then really cleaning the vehicle professionally, and trying to sell it? I think the highest anyone offered was $100.00 because it still wreaked of dead pig. So that car is is worth $100.00 although I am sure it's window sticjker was over $30,000......it is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.....so both arguments are negated
  24. I used to change my oil and rotate my tires every 3000 miles religiously until I was able to advantage of the incremental lease program. Does anyone know what the "suggested" oil change interval is from ford? I know with today's oils, that you can really go unti, 5000 miles with no problem unless you are baha racing in the desert or something. So I would today still change oil/rotate at that interval of 5k. Interestingly, as my vehicles are serviced only by ford world headquarters garage or a dealer if I am out of town, all my maintenance is covered, including wear items such as tires, brakes, whatever ford picks up the tab. I CANNOT bring my vehicle in for an oil change before 10,000! Ford will decline the service altogether and I would have to pay for it personally......don't think so. So my question is this....if my new edge or let's say my Lincoln MKS that I am driving now, which needs Michelins all the way around at 41,0000 is told by the vehicle manufacturer, that service is not needed or will not be provided for/paid for by ford unless certain mileage markers are met, what would Michelin/Pirelli say to that? Here on one hand I understand about rotating the tires religiously, especially on the performance tires, but if the manufacturer tells me that they will not pay service until the oil change interval of 10,000 miles, who do you believe? The guys who designed and built the car and selected those specific tires to enhance the ride and responsiveness of their vehicle or the tire manufacturer themselves?....I know first hand as I tried to have my first incremental lease serviced at about 4800 miles and the dealer said they won't approve that service interval. I then called world headquarters garage and they said absolutely not. I saw 10,000 and I mean every mile. I was going on vacation from mi to fl in my vehicle. (1350 miles each way). I wanted to get service done, oil change, rotation, etc. before we went. The car had 9350 miles on it since last service.....I had to get "approval" from headquarters to get it done. As the dealer was putting together the work order, it rejected the service with out approval. So who do you believe? I know the chemical industry and products very well, even the best of the best military grade oil for humvees for example will only go about 15,000 before needed changeout...
