  1. Black is beautiful baby! Except by the time you get it home and it is dirty . I am currently in a Lincoln MKS not the "X". But that being said, here in Michigan I did see 3 new 2016 MKX's on US 23 with manufacturer tags in them....truth be told, the edge is better looking in my opinion. I didn't think there was any "love" to the new "X" frankly. Very plain looking. Now as there is a Titanium trim level for Ford, I would find it very difficult to get a loaded up MKX for the money that they will command. Outside of a few different standard features, what could really be different for thousands more? I know when I had my 2011 Sport all loaded to the gills, it was still less expensive than a comparably equipped MKX and it looked awesome by comparison. When I took into a Lincoln dealer for routine service, the Lincoln GM came out to the vehicle and asked where I got those 22" rooms. When I told him that they were "stock" his jaw hit the ground. He couldn't get that size or aggressive looking rim for his MKXs that he had in stock and he was really pissed. About 2 months later, he had several MKXs outfitted with 22" aftermarket rims. I am sure that they were marked up a huge %. I did see today on the ohio turnpike a 2015 edge sel that was being dealer traded bewteen an michigan dealer and an eastsidecleveland dealer...I know as the driver pulled into the same rest area as me. Anyway, I was not really overly impressed with the look of it. I mean with the standard 18" plain rims, just didn't look that great to me. It was a nice burgundy though. Just me but the Bigger the Better as wheels and rims go.....maybe I have a complex....
  2. Ok so other than Tron and his bad ass electric spice sport, has anyone else taken delivery of their new edge yet? Even seen one on the road? I saw a sport in cleveland at a dealer, in inventory, white platinum tri-coat......pretty sharp! I have not seen one or heard anything from anyone that is expecting a new edge......oh well, another week in the Lincoln.....
  3. Yes I thought so....how it ended up with "trial ire bitch" is remarkable
  4. Just thought I would give an update....my edge was built last week of January, Pre-job 1......sitting somewhere at the plant, no word yet as far as shipping to WHQ or when I will see it....getting closer to the time when I will have to pull those jet-ski trailers out of winter storage and get those sleds in the water....maybe I will put a U-haul trial ire bitch on my 2014 Lincoln MKS....that would be a classy look!,!
  5. I had a 2011 edge sport fwd with the 22" pirelli's.....in cleveland on the Eastside, in the snowbelt. Never any probs...if you have good meat up front, you can go thru anything...hell most of us learned how to drive in rwd cars, 1972 cutlass for me and on bald tires usually. Fwd is like driving a tank comparatively speaking in my opinion...rotate 'em every other oil change, keep proper inflation and balancing, I got 65k out of those tires and they still had another summer in em, but I traded in the car...
  6. I know that all edges and mkx's have the black carpet and the light colored headliner....sort of makes your choices of interior colors that will not look "out of place" very limited...either black or light ceramic are the only choices that I think would like they belong in the car. Combined with the black dash and door panels it really would very "busy" inside with a color other than black or light tan in my opinion...
  7. If you're gonna break it.....break it early!! Like the movie with Tom cruise, when asked about the "renters insurance" on a rental car, sayin oh yes because I am gonna beat the hell out of this thing!!
  8. I am usually not a fan of any color so "contemporary " but I do have to say, only in the sport trim, that your electric spice is growing on me.. I definitely want to see it in person outside in the sun not in a showroom but I may have to pull the trigger in that color in my next sport....2016
  9. If you have the navigation pkg, be sure to go into sound settings and make sure that the "speed compensation volume" is turned all the way up. It actually does work. I too think that although ford says that the sound system is awesome, I can't make it loud enough either in a cd, memory stick radio or Bluetooth. I currently have the THX sound in my Lincoln and it souns exactly the same as the Ford Sony sound system. Even my wife "shaker 500" she had on her 5.0 drop top last summer didn't seem loud enough....maybe I am deaf for all those loud concerts back in the 80's (ac/dc, the who, stones, queen, boss, etc)
  10. Yes but I guess the point that I was trying to make that at least it was an American owned company where the profits stay here, not end up over there....
  11. All of info and input here. Thanks for all the responses. I am all for "buy American" and I am kinda of srt back by the hankook brand being on a ford/Lincoln product period at least from the factory. I know that pereli probably isn't amaerican, but ain't japanese! Not that it a deal breaker for anyone, but just 'sayin'
  12. Congrats! I am sure you will put those 1000 or so miles on it in no time. Is there really a break in period any more? I thought that went out a few years back. Are the tires hankook as I have seen in All the pirevious pics or are they Pirelli? I have not had many problems with MFT either except on the navigation end of it. Sometimes I lose the gps and I end up driving in the middle of lakes and cornfields according to the map. Enjoy and take the rest of the week off and put a few layers of high end wax in that baby and send some pics all cleaned up for all of us to drool over. No additional miles "mysteriously" put on it I hope?
  13. not at all!! I will take it like a man and do what I have to do with a smile on my face
  14. Yea just us poor "pre job 1" have to wait months to get our vehicles after they have been bullt. Mine was built the last week I january and is sitting somewhere at the plant waiting for someone to physically check it out and fix whatever might be unacceptable. You will probably see yours sooner than I see mine...oh well....I hope that ford will let me order a 2016 in the next couple months anyways, so who knows o may have this one for a month or two before getting a 2016. That happened to my wife, she finally received her ordered car and within 8 weeks she had to order another, newer model and she took delivery of the newer vehicle within 4 months of her getting her prior ordered vehicle...
  15. Did you note the mileage? I can see every salesman beatin the hell out of your rig over the weekend. Congrats regardless....good lookin buggy!
  16. Well.........any news? Did you take delivery yet? Pics?
  17. Just watching the news this morning....stock at $16.59. Local news here in Detroit, says that "one analyst expects the stock to double in price as Fords cash flow is exceptional". I certainly hope so. I am not a stock professional, but see no reason whatsoever that GM is double that of Ford...I still think that F stock is the best "undervalued" stock out there and will continue to buy as many shares as possible. Chrysler/Fiat is even over $25 I think...WTF?
  18. Makes sense that near Chicago has it already. Large distribution area with rail yards and trucking. I have heard absolutely nothing here...at this point as each day goes by, I just drive around in my 2014 Lincoln MKS and take it like a man! I am keeping it clean inside and out as I am hoping that I will get "the call" that it showed up at world HQ and I can pick it up and I can turn in the MKS. PLEASE POST PICS upon your delivery so we can all drool over your new rig!
  19. In her division, she has engineers driving these rigs...I don't know about elsewhere
  20. Speaking to my wife about this, many are engineers of some sort or another. Macbwt just drives to church and the country store every day, gently I am sure. Problem is he lives in Iowa and his church is in Oregon and the store is in Texas!
  21. I thought I heard that also.....plus the plate that is on it looks more like a permanent plate than a dealer tag that they would have slapped on there for test drives. Like a plate that a "zone" rep would have. And you know those guys always drive the most exaoensive, most equipped models....pRoabably not a bad gig actually...I keep throwing my hat into the arena at Ford to become a "driver" who basically just drives pre-released and built vehicles in real world locations and conditions...
