High oil temperature and no a/c

Hey guys, newbie here.

I have a 2010 Edge (Canadian model) here in Brazil.

When I was driving it today the oil temp gauge was all the way on red and the a/c was blowing hot air when driving. After I pulled over the air got cooler, but not anywhere close to where it should be.

I pulled over let it cool down and brought it home.

The dealership here has been pretty tough to deal with so far, has anyone experienced this, any thoughts?

Thanks.

Oil temp or coolant temp? If it's coolant temp the first things to check are the coolant level and the fan. If both of those are ok and it's not just a bad temp sensor then water pump would be the next guess.

Yeah, a stuck thermostat is pretty common. Try all of that stuff above and let us know the results...

Except new thermostats are designed to fail in the open position. Not guaranteed of course so it is possible it stuck closed but not as likely as it used to be.

Another thought is the drive belt - if it was slipping that would affect both the water pump and the A/C compressor.
