surferd15
Time to do the rear brake pads, 66k and looks to be original pads. I have Akebonos on the front and they are awesome but pricey for the rear. Was looking for a basic pad, low dust. Looks like I might be going with the Advance house brand Ceramics, with coupon code they are $30, they are not completely dustless but are tolerable. What are you guys using? Depiry
I would use the same pad front nad rear to keep the fricton level the same, cost for braking is not a consideration when safety is prime, I just replaced front centric rotors and Bendix CT3 ceramic pads WORST stopping combo I ever had, with EBC Red Stuff Front and Rear, with Motorcraft rotors front, Initial useage fells great,Friction coefficiant .5 or GG, Great so far ,Marty
advisorbobby
I changed all my brake Pads to Wagner Thermoquite and my Rotors to Frozen Rotors. my brake pads have a lifetime warranty and my rotors will not rust, pit or warp and due to the cryo treatment they hardly wear! surferd15
I got a good deal on Wagner thermoquiet prostop ceramic ones (their top of the line pad) at my local place with my discount $29, I figured they were better then advance since people complain about the brake dust. The rear akebono's were $86 local and about $60-65 online plus shipping. Thanks guys.
Nate Edwards
I'm thinking about changing mine out at 6k miles due to the annoying SQUEAK SQUEAK SQUEAK that I hear every cold morning.
bicsintegra
I just got the duralast gold ceramic pads have not installed them yet because my rear brake piston is seized. DAMNIT!
sabasigh
When replacing the rear pads just due to wear/mileage...did you have the rotors turned?
Smitty
Depends on who you ask. I know mechanics who turned rotors every time pads are changed...and those who turned them only if they needed it. macbwt
I have had great luck with many store brands and basic rotors. I however am more inclined to the Autozone High carbon steel rotors with their premium ceramic pads. Very quiet and great stopping ability. If Your brakes are making noise I guess you could by the Noise Dampeners and install those to get a quieter brake. You folks use your brakes too much I did not replace my fronts until 175,000 miles. The rears were replaced at 220,000 miles.
