perrytime
How good is the sun shield at keeping out the sun, and I wonder how well does the shade, or the glass insulate. With shade closed, a parked car sitting in the sun on a hot day, does the interior of the Edge get significantly hotter than a one without a sun roof? thanks
PrinzII
I have heard of some folks putting tint on the inside in order to lower the amount of heat.
Dingo
I tinted mine, but for a different reason.
akirby
I'm in Atlanta - plenty of 90+ days and we never close the shade on the vista roof even when parking outside. It's never been an issue.
autom8r
Bottom line, the BAMR is cool. Any parked car is going to heat up eventually. The glass won't keep out the radiant heat from the sun better than the solid roof will and the sun shade isn't insulated, so it won't keep the conductive heat out. But when you show others the BAMR, you get the "oohs and ahs" and that makes it worth it.
carbonedge+
When it is hot, simply 'tilt' or open the roof, and the heat will exit the vehicle quicker than a non-BAMR and you'll be cooling down in no time.
Edgieguy
I always use a winshield shade and try to crack the sunroof open to vent the interior, or open the side windows enough underneath the wethertech window vents that theyre open, but you cant tell theyre open. bottom line is that any fresh air entering the car will keep the inside cooler. DavidLeB
anybody ever had any leaking issue from the roof? I went tru a car wash last week and water was dripping in at a pretty good rate....
surferd15
Tinted the panoramic roof glass? I was told I couldn't because it is tempered glass and if it gets too hot will explode?? My interior does get hot and I have all my windows tinted including the windshield. I am South Florida though, cars get hot but mine is at least 5-10 degrees hotter if not more.
