So, I was hoping to make another list of all available bulbs and try and find the brightest led for each application. I'm fully expecting Dingo to find the brightest! Please add your recommendations.

This list is for the 2011+ Edges (feel free to add for the older ones). This is based on specs and experience from other forum members:

License Plates/Front Map Lights (168/W5W): http://www.ebay.com/itm/281062709652 or http://www.vleds.com/bulb/194-168-158-led/5k-white-10-led-light-bulbs-194-158-168-2825-1-pair.html

Rear Cargo/Dome/Trunk lights (578/39mm Festoon): http://www.ebay.com/itm/221246469312 or http://www.daytimebrightlites.com/LED_Dome_Lights.html

Vanity Mirrors (37): http://www.vleds.com/5k-white-3-led-wedge-base-dash-light-bulbs-37-74-1-pair.html

Reverse LEDs (921): http://www.vleds.com/bulb/921-led/5k-white-15-led-high-power-bulbs-917-918-920-921-922-923-579-1-pair.html

Puddle Lamps (31mm): http://www.ebay.com/itm/321154330219 or http://www.daytimebrightlites.com/Puddle_Lights_NL3C.html

Front Turn Signal Switchback LEDs (3457): http://www.vleds.com/v3-wa-5k.html (they are working out the kinks with the Edge)

Rear Turn Signal (3757): http://www.vleds.com/v3-w-5k-2859.html (don't know if same issue as switchbacks exist)

Vertical LED Running Lights: http://www.daytimebrightlites.com/Daytime_running_lights.html

The most important thing is NOT the brightness. It's the width of the beam and how well the reflectors are utilized. I've been through dozens of led bulbs that I left how they came, several that I've modified, and even some that I've made. I'm just now getting happy with how I've got it set up.

So which bulbs can you recommend?

Just trying to get a list together of the "best" bulbs for each application (using my original list above).

I understand Watts, Lumens and degree spread (using reflectors or not) are all pertinent.

We've all used expensive VLEDs, Superbrightleds, JDMTOY and inexpensive Amazon and ebay offerings. Some are crap, others way off in color (7K or above) and some are OK. I figured you're probably the best to give recommendations :)

So I just tried and installed the COB LEDs for my puddles and for the cargo/dome/trunk lights. I can NOT recommend these!!

They are not very bright at all and have a lousy pattern.

If any of you have any recommendations, please add them. I am continuing my search for the best LEDs.

which wattage did you get for the cob, I buy all my LEDS from the same person on ebay and they have the COBS in 3w/6w/9w variants, though the 9 I haven't seen lately, I believe the puddle lights uses a smaller festoon bulb. I have the 36mm 6w version with 2 LEDS in my chevy aveo and even with the terrible light output (I forced it to fit. so the LEDS are right on the lense cover instead of having some room to spread before the lens cover) but here's the 36mm in my aveo, it still lights up the whole car.

after typing all that and then scrolling up and seeing the puddle lights take a 31mm, anyroom in there to somehow make a 36mm fit? I think the issue with the 31mm COB is it's only 2w...not many decent options for a 31mm festoon bulb. probably be better modifying the puddle lamp to use a t10 wedge projector bulb..that would be crazy bright shinning on the ground!

that's in my aveo...

I think this would work well in the puddle light, it's what is in the license plate of my aveo. It does good at what it's supposed to do, shine in one direction and being in the puddle light location has one purpose...shine down...

I think I can see my license plate from a mile away..lol. So funny too cause the last thing we want camera/police to see is our license plate but we spend money on making them highly visible

Okay, I ran down to the cul-de-sac at the end of my street and snapped a few pics. Please forgive that some are a little blurry. I set the aperture at 1.8 and I didn't grab the tripod. We all know night shots need a tripod to come out crystal clear. If anyone wants to know what I used somewhere, let me know. I have newer front blinker bulbs and foglights in my garage that I haven't installed yet, so that's to come. The only editing I did was to the license plate.

I updated the LED in the sills.

The backup HIDs do a pretty good job, too.

Damn.... B)

I'd like to know what you have in the following:

1. Puddles

2. Maps

3. Cargo/Dome/Rear

The puddles look ridiculously bright. Thanks for taking the photos, Dingo.

P.S. I know you've got 35W Franken-HIDS in the back, but I may eventually spring for the DXHID 15W kit.

For the puddles, I used: http://www.vleds.com/bulb/194-168-158-led/5k-white-led/diy6bc.html

I used the 3175 base and then had to modify the base and the housing to get it all to fit

The map lights are: http://www.vleds.com/bulb/194-168-158-led/5k-white-10-led-light-bulbs-194-158-168-2825-1-pair.html

The dome and cargo are older 4-LED versions of this: http://www.vleds.com/bulb/211-42mm-led/5k-white-led/5k-white-1-5w-3-led-high-power-universal-dome-light-bulb-37mm-45mm-adjustable.html

The rear map lights are that new one I just linked, though.

so I finally got my LEDS from epanda on ebay (they always arrive in 2 days) the difference in the pics is minimal but in person the difference stands out. I took better pics on my aveo.

went from this

to this

my daily aveo shows the biggest difference
DSC_3431_zps70fd15ed.jpg

side by side pic,can see the difference in the light out put which is understandable considering the left doesn't have 4 leds on the outside like the one on the right
