ssscott Posted October 11, 2014 Report Share Posted October 11, 2014 Hello All, Sorry but I'm new here and to forums in general, so I apologize if I have or will make any etiquette errors. I searched as best I could but am unable to find the answer to my question, here goes.... I picked up a used 2011 Edge SEL 3 days ago under the impression that the vehicle did not come with navigation. However, while my wife was getting familiar with the sync system she happened to hit the information tab from the home screen at which point the interface prompts "Navigation SD card Fault Please insert a valid SD card". After some searching I have found a few instances where people have bought a used vehicle that is capable of navigation but for some reason the SD card was missing. I am asking if this is possibly the same situation for me, and if so what would I have to do to get the navigation working? If not, does everyone with the sync get the same error message when hitting 'Information' from the home screen? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You might be able to get a SD card from the dealer or Ford Service rep here on the forum. Worst case you can buy an A5 card for $125. I checked the above link which does not show navi, however I'm hoping against hope that I can somehow get the navi working. I've kind of broke the bank getting the edge and need to be cautious about spending more money. What are the odds of buying the A5 card and it working? Also whats the difference with the A3 and A4 cards that I've seen talked about in other discussions, is there a specific card I need to work with my current version of the software? akirby Posted October 13, 2014 Report Share Posted October 13, 2014 A5 is the latest card. I think the current MFT software can use any versions but older software only worked with either A3 or A4. I agree with akirby on this one; it doesn't sound like you have navigation. If you'd like, I can take a look in my system to see if you do, just private message me your VIN. akirby Posted October 13, 2014 Report Share Posted October 13, 2014 I misunderstood and thought it said Navigation on the home screen along with the missing sd card message. If it says Information on the upper right of the home screen instead of navigation then as Waldo says it doesn't have it which ETIS seems to confirm.
